As we move into February life picks up speed again. A visit to Bolton saw the GPT receive a massive turn out with all the big names there and many more. And they were all spoiled with sexy ladies in corsets to massage their backs as they played.

...Fun. After the girls all clubbed together, we actually managed to get some of the guys socialising for a change. Upon one of the first evenings, a large group of us formed at the bar in hope of food at around 9.30pm on Saturday night with no bookings. No problem we thought... sure. Having surprisingly found all the restaurants booked out at the resort we asked the concierge if he could recommend any nice places to eat outside the resort. Yes yes, he says, go to this place. It’s a 5 star restaurant, best food on the Island. You will love it. It’s just five minutes away, he promises.

Since the close of Poker 425 I've had a bit more time on my hands and decided to pay my long lost friends and family back in Scotland a visit. It was one of my friend's 26th birthday, so we took full advantage of this opportunity to spend the entire weekend in a drunken state, with Saturday being our homemade cocktail day. I don't remember too much about the weekend with it passing in a blissful kind of blur, but I do know that at some point I toppled over in the street, due entirely to the unevenness of the road and absolutely nothing to do with the alcohol I had consumed, with a nice big bruise and graze on my knee as a trophy.

Last weekend was rather a sad weekend as it was the last Poker 425 trip with the closure of the channel. However we did finish up on a nice note with a lovely trip to Paris. The staff were great as always. When Cameraman Dan was asked if he'd been before, he said no and got out his ID, they turned to me and said, "We know you have been before," with a big smile. Hmm, I wonder if it's nice things they remember about me or the fact that almost every time I end up in Paris I get very, very drunk at their bar???

London Adventures

Having had Saturday off out of my weekend I decided to call up a girlfriend and check out the cool bars in London. On recommendation we wondered along to the Ice Bar just off Regent Street. Here we were wondering why it was called the Ice Bar as we enjoyed a cocktail or two at almost £10 a go in the upstairs lounge. We were then called upon to receive our silver capes and were ushered downstairs. We soon learned why it was called the Ice Bar. Every thing was made of Ice. Real Ice, the walls were made of big ice bricks, the bar was ice and the glasses were ice. Very much an idea based around the famous Ice Hotel in one of those really cold countries up in the North. It really was a very cool experience, with a choice of vodka cocktails to warm you up inside. If you plan on trying this place I would recommend that you don't go there wearing strappy open toed shoes like I did! It's kept at -28 degrees at all times.

Last Friday I was setting off from Birmingham with Bikini in my bag for the sunny seaside beach located conveniently right in front of the Casino de Barcelona. On arrival at the Casino I was pleased to see many of the top European pros and of course the famous Phil Ivey from the good old US of A. Marc 'Mr Cool' Goodwin was as ever full of impressive golf stories. It would seem Phil only managed to recoup his losses on the outragous golfing stakes by clearing 3rd place in EPT! Gus Hansen caught me snapping him at the table and decided he would introduce himself to me. And thank goodness some good-looking talent has begun to arrive on the poker scene. I don't think a single person in the room failed to notice the hot talented blonde placing her stakes in the game. (Check out the blondepoker gallery for the pics)

I have retired early from the Bash today feeling pretty done in from the week’s events. However, Saturday evening was a most enjoyable evening indeed. I was very pleased to see how much the community had grown. After busting out of the comp about half way along, I played my first heads up match against the 'inthebelly' team for the 'girlie' team. The match lasted one hand with my opponent moving all in with Kings and I called with A9, I hit an Ace! Unfortunately the Girlie team's success was short lived when I lost my match with Robert HM, who has a very intense stare by the way, and London Poker Girl was unable to take the team further when Phil Quaye from William Hill got lucky with the notorious river card.

High Hopes & Hectic Days

It's been quite a busy week for me this past week, with Bolton Poker Extravaganza last weekend, it looked like a promising turn around for Dave who made it into day two. I thought at long last he would be making an appearance on Poker 425, but it was not to be. He busted out shortly after I arrived. But another blonde made it to the final table, Mr Tikay Kendall. Go the blondes!

A Weekend in Vegas

Well as you may know I flew over to Las Vegas courtesy of Mansion Poker on Thursday. Again the players due to play in the semi-final of the Poker Dome were treated very well with another suite at Caesars and a posh meal at the very swanky French restaurant Guy Savoy. Fed and watered and well rested I was ready to take on another five players on Friday afternoon. Dave busted out of his tournament just in time to join the live audience and cheer me. He was treated like a king with his own camera dedicated to just him and a front row seat.

The Poker Dome Experience

A week or two back, I was jetted off to Las Vegas courtesy of Mansion Poker, to play in the amazing Poker Dome Event for a chance to win $1,000,000!!

The Poker Dome is being covered by Fox TV and held at the Tropicana Casino. It is a one-table satellite affair, with six players, 15 seconds to act and pot limit pre-flop. Quite a different game to what I am used to playing.

Third Time Lucky?

I am just overwhelmed at the moment with the recent poker opportunities I have been given. Having failed in my first ever TV poker event at the Ladies' UK Open, I was given a second chance at the Ladbrokes Ladies' competition a few weeks ago at Riverside studios. I feel I played well but busted out a disappointing 18th after losing a big pot with AK. Being a bit of a TV junky I was desperate to play another televised event. There is something about the atmosphere of a TV studio, all the lights and the hushed quietness. I also find myself watching the crew at work, clocking how things are being run and organised. It's all very exciting.

As you all know it was the Paddy Power Poker Irish Open over the weekend, and a fantastic event it was too. Not only did Paddy Power add €50,000 to the prize pool but they laid on fancy nibbles and a free bar for the players and their guests at the RDS.

Well last Saturday I got another year older, up to a ripe old age of 25. Which was nice. Dave took me shopping, which was even nicer, and then we had a posh meal in the evening at a French restaurant that I can't remember the name of. Though I do remember they did lovely Champagne cocktails....

Dave and I took Sian out to the bowling alley on Monday, and Dave won as per usual showing off with two strikes in a row and scoring 100 points. While Sian and I had a close tie of around seventy something each. She's very competitive for a seven year old, I just can't think who she gets it from!

Last night we had a blondepoker school promo event in London, with several Journalists attending. Dave gave away all his secrets, and Jo Grech, who was present, will have to be bribed to keep mum. tikay made the final table, so he must have been listening to Dave when he was telling everyone how it was done. Jen and Aaron had their own private heads up match in the back room, with Jen running circles round Aaron. Keep an eye on the gallery for pics coming soon....
