A Spot Of Cash With A Mad Yank

snoopy, Sun, 23/07/2006 - 4:05am
The Beagle Bulletin a spot of cash with a mad yank After the marathon that was the H.O.R.S.E Event, Jen and my good self decided to reward our hard work with a spot of cash. First stop was Caesar’s Palace in the centre of the strip.

A Cash At Last

elblondie, Thu, 20/07/2006 - 4:52am
Friday 15th JulyAt last I managed to go deep in a tourney. Well at least last out the whole of the first day anyway. I got off to a fast start in the $2,000 NLH. There were over 1,500 runners again but by the end of the third level I was probably one of, if not, the early chip leaders with almost 30,000 chips.

The Beagle Bulletin: Why The Long Face?

snoopy, Wed, 19/07/2006 - 7:41am
The Beagle Bulletin why the long face? So, before we knew it, Jen and I were in the Rio Cardroom fully braced for the much anticipated H.O.R.S.E Event (Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Lo, Razz, Stud, Stud Hi-Lo – although for ages my brain was telling me that the ‘O’ was straight Omaha, Doh!).

The Beagle Bulletin: Houston, We Have A Problem

snoopy, Tue, 18/07/2006 - 12:05am
The Beagle Bulletin – Part I houston, we have a problem Howdy, folks. Due to the inevitable pressures of live updating, uploading blogs, maintaining results & news, etc, I thought it naïve to commit to a diary of any kind, even if this is my first trip to Vegas. However, the more my eyes widen by what I witness over here, the m...

Lucky in Cash, Unlucky in Multis

elblondie, Fri, 14/07/2006 - 8:11am
Monday 10th JulyThe problem with these diaries is they can get a little bit depressing to read. Unfortunately with tourney poker there is a lot of running bad though. That’s just the nature of the beast.

My Little Black Book

snoopy, Thu, 13/07/2006 - 10:51am
Things are going rather well in the salubrious surroundings of the Grosvenor Luton. The current running total since the beginning of June is 25 final tables out of 33 tournaments. Of these 25 finals I’ve hit the top three about half the time, and consequently 2006’s 'Live Poker' spreadsheet is looking very healthy.

A Downward Spiral

elblondie, Wed, 12/07/2006 - 9:58am
Wednesday 5th July I normally enjoy a game of Limit 7 Card Stud for a change. The way you have to think is so different from Hold’em and Omaha, I find it quite refreshing. However, I think I must have been a little hung over from the previous night's bad beat.

A Weekend in Vegas

rhowena, Mon, 10/07/2006 - 9:02pm
Well as you may know I flew over to Las Vegas courtesy of Mansion Poker on Thursday. Again the players due to play in the semi-final of the Poker Dome were treated very well with another suite at Caesars and a posh meal at the very swanky French restaurant Guy Savoy. Fed and watered and well rested I was ready to take on another five players on F...

Ouch!

elblondie, Thu, 06/07/2006 - 3:48am
Monday 3rd July

I actually took a day off! Tony Chessa and Paul Jackson insisted on playing the Omaha Hi-Lo, so there was a shortage of drinking buddies. I tried to persuade Brian Wilson to go for a game of golf but he wasn’t having it, and Marc Goodwin had flown back to the UK for the birth of his 5th child. An hour by the pool, a...

A Cash To Get The Ball Rolling

elblondie, Mon, 03/07/2006 - 10:19pm
Today’s tourney was the $2,000 NLH and attracted a massive field of 1912 runners. All the tourneys start at Noon and as I had not lasted to the dinner break in any of the competitions so far, I was determined to play tight not taking any risks.
