After his recent enforced sabbatical, Carlo is on the trail again from the end of March this year. Carlo started playing in 2001 and has racked up some impressive results: his first win came in Walsall (April 2001) where he won the £1000 NLH event. Since then he has made many final tables, but his best results to date are his win at the Australian Poker Championships in January 2003, the British Open title at the Vic in March 2003 (£500 NLH), and his final table at the 34 th World Series of Poker, in which he knocked out Layne Flack to take 7 th place in the $5000 NLH event.
From December 2004 Carlo has been playing daddy to baby Angelina and spoiling her rotten.
There's no chance of her following in dad's footsteps however as she's been informed that she's not allowed to leave the house until she's at least forty years old!!!
His homes games are in and around Newcastle, where, in addition to tournament play, Carlo's a hard man to beat at a cash table.
Having had plenty of time to get fit and swot up on his poker, Carlo is itching to get back into 'live' play. It's a big year, but as Peter Costa wrote after his Aussie Millions win; "he is one player who has the potential to go all the way in the poker world".
