My first question for 'Nottingham' Nick was of course, 
has he ever been to Nottingham? He assured me that he hadn't, but had heard it was a truly wonderful city. (from who!) He is in fact from Windsor. So we changed the subject.
He used to be a director of a recruitment agency, but gave that up last year, so that he could concentrate on poker. He had a very successful start to his poker career winning over 100 grand in the first 4 months. Things have taken a turn for the worse over the last couple of months though. Welcome to the poker roller coaster!
Nick is a well-known online player. Many will recognise 'river' on Ladbrokes. He tends to play tournaments and satellites only, as he has a strong belief that most cash games are 'rigged'. Perhaps that was the beer talking, but I couldn't convince him otherwise.
He was very successful at the Bellagio's satellites and super satellites, but his ventures into live tournament play have been scarred by 'the luck of the blonde'. Apparently, I knocked him out of the WPT event in Paris, the main event at the Gutshot festival and the World Speed Championships in Estonia. And of course, he claims he had the best hand in all cases. Funnily enough, I just can't remember.
