So, after a day on the beach (well, due to a lack of an ozone layer for 20 minutes) with factor 30+ and a ray shield held over me, we return to the day job and play some poker.

‘Some’ being the operative word as I last exactly 5 hours in the main event with a 20k starting stack. I have 38k by the end of the first 90 minute level with Alan Cunningham on my right and Patrick Antonius on my left. Patrick busts my K-K on a board of 8-9-K with J-J, lol. Then he busts my K-K with Q-Q on a T-Q-4 flop. Shock and amazement when I see he is massive chip leader with 325k after Day 1 and I am stuck watching the tennis players practise on the hotels courts.

The Crown Hotel towers have to be one of the best in the world and a bit of retail therapy may help until I look at the price tag on a jacket I like - just a cool 7k. Couldn’t find the 6k in the inside pocket so gave up on the idea.

So, it’s off to watch England in the one dayer vs. the Aussies. Again, shock and amazement when I witness us get smashed, but at least we did it in style in a box provided by Mansion for myself, Ram, Michael Greco and Richard Redmond.

Phil Ivey asks if we want a game of golf on the basis that he just crushed us off a joke handicap, not to mention the fact that it’s 42 degrees outside. We swiftly decline and insteand spend a day visiting some of the twenty restaurants and thirty bars within this massive hotel complex.

Just tried to get in the 5k heads up and it’s full, they limited it to 32 so if you’re out of the Main Event you are stuffed - they need to sort it out .

See you all soon and all the best,

Mr Cool
