romans and marios should probably go google icm. what a farce. superb negotiation from the guy with 4bigs though! and the chippies obv.
I was table side during the deal discussion. Mr. 4bb negotiations were keeping his gob shut and praying the other 7 agreed. Then did a triple axel, double somersault with a twist when the other 7 said yes. Wp that man.

Once again an update thread turns in to a load of poker players berating people for the deal they made.
When will you guys start to realise that for a recreational player ICM has no meaning whatsoever but ten thousand pounds does?
You'll say that we've been denied an update of the final table which I understand.
Unfortunately whenever they play on you all just whinge about them folding too much.
As far as I can see if they're all happy they just deserve congratulations. Well played everybody!!

The best explanation you'll ever read imo.

Matt
Although you have a point, this is surely about simple comprehension and less than basic maths
For example, the guy with a redic chip lead, he must see that he can fold for 5 orbits, still be CL, be 5 handed and then get more money. This is by folding. Obv he prob doesn't understand how he can exploit his stack, but pretty sure he could have negotiated 1st place money off that stack
Anyway, well done everyone, I didn't even make day 2 so what the fk do I know

I agree completely and in his position I wouldn't have even entered in to deal discussions that didn't involve me getting the lot.
The thing that bothers me is the people who just come on the thread and say 'lol what a fuckin ridic deal!' or other stupid comments.
I'm just having a whinge at the whingers I suppose.

Regarding the most ridic. deal ever:
I remember a certain Mr. Abdullah negotiating more than first prize for himself in a deal some years back.

Well, got home safely finally! Although my M6 junction being closed was rather annoying!!!!
Thank you to DTD for hosting us this weekend, top class as usual. Thanks also to everyone for their support as this was my first time flying solo (well, most of it anyway!).
Hope you all enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next Grand Prix...have DTD announced it yet??
About the final table: I've never seen 8 poker players look so happy, especially the two Golden Chip winners. Being female, I had to ask what they were going to spend it on and the list included a lot of things that weren't poker.
Can't wait for another chance to update again, right I'm gonna make the most of this early finish, goodnight!!

Nicholas Humphris €30,000
approx chip count 1.1m
Tommy Bingham €27,900
Approx chip count 1.9m
Romans Mihailovs €11,500
approx chips 560k
Marios Arkadiou €11,500
approx chips 470k
Mohammed Ashfaq €11,500
approx chips 397k
Ian Turner €10,700
approx chips 450k
Mark Wates €10,700
approx chips 285k
Michael Daryl Haney €10,700
approx chips 161k
Guys can I just correct something please, these chip counts are slightly out. There was 5,985,000 in chips. N Humphris actually had 1,700,000.
What actually happened was, the chip leader was the player pushing for a deal, he wanted both himself and the other cl to take 25k and split the rest equally. Humphris simply said, 30k or carry on, CL said he wanted the same as Humphris as he had more chips. 4 times they were told to carry on. Mario, Romans and Mohammed wanted a little more, T Bingham then said he would take it off his because he wanted a deal and ensured he got more that 2nd place without any risk for an outlay of £50.
D Haney never said a word and obviously benefited from the deal, I could obviously see the ICM was way out and asked the question numerous times if everyone was happy, all insisted they were. In my personal opinion the person who got shafted was Ian Turner but again he said he was happy with the deal (maybe already elated at his golden chip fortune but this shouldnt have made a difference in the deal). Everyones happy at the way their money was split ..... why the haters?
IMO Yes Mario and Romans (possibly Ian) should understand ICM better but they were not forced to deal and were happy with their lot.
The fairest and most simple way is by chip count but this was never requested.
