I've always been given Methylprednisolone, but that involves being plotted up on a ward for the week... That looks much more appealing, even if it does make your eyes water Cheesy

When we were kids, we learned quite fast.

Originally, we almost liked to be ill, or have a boil on our neck or whatever, because we got a bit of sympathy, & some tlc, lovely job.

That was until Grandma Angell stuck a boiling hot kaolin poultice on a red raw boil on the back of your neck.

We soon learned our lesson.

That a boil on your neck, young Tony?

No no, it's nothing, honest.

Pretty sure that if a parent applied a hot kaolin poultice to a youngster these days, they'd be done for child cruelty. Jeez, they stung.

when we had ear ache as a kid my grandma would put a red hot onion in a long sock, tie it round our head so the onion was directly on the ear... i only had ear ache once as a child.

Yeah, you get the idea, though I'd never heard that one. Must have looked a bit odd?

I was chatting with someone yesterday, & we got round to a player on Ladbrokes back in the day with the alias "toolbox". Apparently, it is a Northern term for a billiard ball inside a sock, which is then swung in the general direction of one's bonce, for purposes of no good, one assumes.

Quick question, is the festival offer from our friends across the water in Ireland available in shops as well as online?

Forget about TFT.

Blondepoker was built on the live updates, and look how many people are viewing the S*ypoker final thread now.

Need to get back to making them a regular part of the site IMO.

Agreed, apart from the TFT part...

I meant forget about the navel gazing and politics.

TFT is tiny compared to a good old fashioned update.

Golden rule:

Never post in two threads at the same time when you're becoming geriatric.

@Arbboy, the cleveland v houston game was a gamblers dream in-play.  Houston another threat in the west, the east is as weak as I have known it for many seasons.
