Thanks for the support guys, really hope I can make a decent run.
Probably going to play day 1b, since I plan on winning this sunday million. Currently on the money bubble with double average, playing really well and running well.
Arrived safely in Campione at about 1, had a pizza overlooking Lake Lugana which is beautiful, and then like a good little grinder, regged for about 20 comps on stars and been playing ever since. Bricked every single one apart from a mincash in the 33cubed (lost AK<QQ to be 2/53), but still in the million, so enjoying the sweat!

Full on downswinging, lost about 4k over the last 3 days. Not great preparation for my first EPT, my mind is not right atm. Might play day 1b and have two days off to relax and see Campione and the lake, to get in a better frame of mind. Been coolered a lot, but some of it's been my fault, not folding to 3/4bets enough and then trying desperately to win pots that I should just give up. Running so good lately has warped my mind into thinking "I'm going to get there" so I'm just not folding enough and trying to be too clever.
I needed this smack on the bottom to shake me up, let's hope I can draw a line under it and refocus for next week.
I would advise you play a short session on the cash tables the night before to get a feel for how the locals are playing. I wouldn't recommend sitting down to an Italian EPT completely cold since playing 1/2 in Nottingham. |
