Lol no. What makes you ask that. I was arb boy on bf for years as doobs will confirm as he was doobs back in the day in bf. I probably played more games against him and his other usernames way back in the day than anyone else. Someone told me from a reliable source that punterz is totally skint now even though he was raking£60k a month on bf stt's back in the day. Are you punterz?  Wink

Fwiw I backed Hearts at 9/2 about 6 weeks ago when we first had this discussion. Hibs are not a threat in my book for the reasons KMac stated, Hearts looks an ew bet to nothing as I really can't have them outside the top 2 (finances sorted, finished the season well, decent youth system with players now exposed to first team, I also like the signings of Gomis and Bauben). Tynecastle is an intimidating place and the support will turn out in numbers.

The only thing that's slightly concerning me is the recruitment of Boyd and Miller for 2 reasons. Firstly, no matter how bad Rangers are they should bail them out most of the time. Second, I really don't know how they can afford them, it costs £20m a year to run a club the size of Rangers before you even look at a footballer or coaching staff. Best guesstimates have season ticket sales at 17k x £400 (I'm being generous here) bringing in less than £7m, the numbers just don't add up but then again they didn't in their previous incarnation either and it didn't stop them. It's starting to look like Rangers will be promoted at all costs.

would you be backing Contador at 5/2 , in his rejuvenated form in 2014 to beat Froome/Sky?

is there any e/w podium value..markets pay 1/4 1,2,3 and Nibali and up are 8/1 (2/1 a place...)

http://www.oddschecker.com/cycling/tour-de-france/winner

Quite like Nibali ew for the Tour. Think his record is a podium finish in 6/7 last Grand tour events, and a friend of mine who is big into it thinks he is peaking for the tour.

Disclaimer, this has only been picked up in watching 3 months of cycling.

Not sure why we didn't follow obvious cycling types like me and Tighty?!

This.

I really like this bet. Has anyone got any experience of how much you can get on this a shop at hills without it being rung through etc. I really hink this is a case of rangers being priced up as rangers rather than the reality of the squad/current financial situation. It can't be a massive price rangers go into administration again and get another points deduction.  The key factor for the bet is how good hibs are though. Does anyone have any good insight on that as they could easily be a decent ew bet as well

One more

League 2

Newport County £10 e/w 33/1 Betfred 1/4 1,2,3

Newport County £20 Promotion at 7-1 Ladbrokes/Hills/Betfair Sportsbook

In their first season back in the league Newport finished 14th with 58 points

This though hides a much better trend than this

At the end of February the side was 7th, haivng been in or around the play-offs since October onwards

At that point they were severely hampered by their groundshare at Rodney Parade, which they share with Newport Gwent Dragons and Newport RFC, and the pitch was unplayable for weeks

A raft of postponements left them playing three times a week from March onwards and their form fell away

If we leave the pitch aside for a minute this is a team with a significant home advantage, a tough place to go, open ground, passionate fans playing a style with 5-3-2/wing backs and a lot of pace that a lot of League 2 does not play/counter very well

this time round there has been work on the pitch, to help drainage. Its a delicate one as you want the games played but you don't want teams to turn up and see a bowling green. it is after all a rugby pitch so its still going to be tough for opponents to go to

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28333263

with a year in the league, a slightly larger squad and a style taht plays well in league two i think Newport are going to be right up there this time round

they have a 15 goal striker from last season in Zebrowski (crosses from the wing backs, big battering ram) have added rene howe from burton and have a very talented lad called joe parker who is being compared to conor washington, who was at newport last season and now at peterborough

all the buzz is about luton at around 7-1 to go up again, whereas 33-1 newport gives you the same idea (conference sides can go through the leagues quickly) at nearly five times the price, assuming they don't get the fixture backlog that stuffed them last year
Whilst I obviously hope you are right about County but not sure I like the promotion bet tbh. We were still riding the wave of the massive success of the previous season at the start of last year, people went to Wembley saw the long awaited promotion and could not wait to turn up at the start of last season before drifting away, we are not likely to start the season with as many fans turning up as often. Without those advantages I don't see a repeat to the start of the season from last year.

The pitch has already caused more issues as the improvements have not gone to plan causing some pre season friendlies to need to be moved due to trying to finish it off. It is still shared with two rugby teams as well, more cancellations in the winter are likely sadly.

The Squad is largely the same and the dip in form also happened when Connor Washington left as he was amazing in the first half of the season until the window opened, the squad is still pretty small and needs more depth ideally. David Pipe may well turn out to be a big loss as well. I don't think we will struggle to stay up but speaking to people who have watched us a lot preseason it does not sound like we are ready to go up yet either. Saying that we are hearing good things about Joe Parker certainly so you never know :-)

Hopefully I am wrong

I can confirm that Arbboy is not Punterz.  If he was, he'd have been banned 5 minutes after joining.  I am sure Punterz is still playing on Stars, at least he was a few months ago.  Not quite playing as high as he once was, and still trash talking for England. No idea if anybody else is playing on that account though.

Can confirm this too, though don't think he started just making stuff up about you like he did me.  Amazing what Betfair would let you get away with if you are the highest raker.  Reaped what they sowed in the end.

Remember the days.  They were great.  Was always happy coming 2nd to him in the monthly leaderboard and getting £8k or £6k a month on top of monster rakeback as well.  Where did the greeks/spanish/crypiots all go!!!!  Glory days!  Pretty much anyone i tell under the age of 28 doesn't believe the rake volumes i used to put through month after month.  I was looking at the old records the other day and they are frightening that amount of stts used to run literally 247 in those days at those stakes.  Seems like 25 years ago not 6.

Do you remember the night when everyone went all in on the 1st hand and the winner got paid out as first and the other five all got paid second place money? Within ten minutes everyone was at it. 10 hours of carnage,

I do remember it.  Think Dubai/Hawko amongst others were involved.  I wasn't! I was tucked up in bed unfortunately!
