The blinds are about to rise to 200/400. There are currently 99 players left, all fighting it out for that $374,849 1st prize.

Here's Vanessa Rousso (I'm fairly sure) - bubbling lady from the Paris WPT.  She played this event, but I can't currently see her at this late hour.

I failed up until this point to even notice that pirate-goateed Hachem was in this event, but here he is, and you can just about catch Richard Redmond's head poking out of the top of his head (anyone seen Labyrinth with the old guy and his bird?)

Shortstack Tony Chessa, whom Snoopy referred to earlier as a Ribenaberry, which is inaccurate seeing as his purple Littlewoods attire seems to have not been donned today.  His neighbour seems to be looking at him anxiously, like he might explode at any moment.

Here's Karl Mahrenholz with Gutshot 'G' - Snoopy said it reminds him of Rimmer in Red Dwarf.

Hachem seems to be bare-footed tonight. You'd think with all that dosh he'd be wearing diamond shoes!

John Shipley -- 34k
Joe Hachem -- 17k
Iwan Jones -- 19.5k
Mohammed Baraktul -- 21k
John Gale -- 19k
Mike Sexton -- 13k
John Hewston -- 20k

Deeb, Flack, Liebert and Negreanu are also still in, but I can't see their stacks from the rail.

$1,500 News

Padraig Parkinson is in the last 16!  I arrived just in time to see Matey 1's 10 5 bust Matey 2's AK... Matey 2 was pretty resigned, just uttering those words which sum up a lifetime of bad beats (your way and others'): "That's poker."

Anyway, Padraig has 70,000 odd and looks confident - he's actually got a pretty good stare.  When he picked up a pot preflop, there was a cheer of "Go the Irish!" from the substantial rail.

$1,500

And here are the final two tables, from the best vantage point I could find.  Contrast and compare the photos the (much more talented, I am sure) guy with the proper camera must be getting.  Never mind, you can use your imagination - anybody know any of the other players?

$5,000 Stud News

Confusing isn't it?  Yes, that too is still going on in another quadrant.  They've just been on a break, and as they filtered back in I snapped Kirill and Bushy having a chat between the last four tables.  I feel like those paparazzi who snap Posh and Becks out having dinner or something.  Except I don't have a fancy camera and it's poker players.

Also Vanessa Rousso (not out as earlier surmised), Karl Mahrenholz and Steve Zoine (just)

Vanessa Rousso is OUT.

A-T v J-J

5-K-8-T-K

I was willing an Ace down just to see if she took it quietly or not.

It's quietened down a little in there, not too much action.

I was just watching Shipley's table, and they appeared to be playing very passively.

The lats hand I saw, they all passed round to the big blind.

Both the $1,500 NL and the $1,500 PL are munching on a Kit Kat.

Still just two tables left in the former, with Padraig Parkinson running pretty well with 130k.

Meanwhile, in the PL, there are 8 tables of 68 players remaining with the Average Stack being 20,661. This may be the last level coming up.
