Here's Kevin Daly, from two angles. He's over 25k now (going to go get accurate counts in a minute) due to cracking some Kings with his AQ! He did come right out and admit that, though.

Recently eliminated is Gwion Jones - who'd brought his stack up over 22k, but lost it all on one big hand with raising and re-raising craziness holding on a Q 2 2 board. His opponent wasn't going for the Deuce representation, and at this late stage he's gone.

Late night chip builder Michael Greco is up to 50k - and with the leaders not breaking 100k yet he's looking safe. Bluesquare qualifier John Exley is the last one still in - and looks to make Day Two along with Greco.

Patrik Antonius bets 7k into a several k pot (a bet which leaves very little behind) His oppoent dwells for an age before folding to a flop. As a result, Antonius is now on 18,500 I can't resist putting up this picture of ordinarily extremely even-tempered Antonius making what looks very like a rude hand gesture at the table - I quickly add that it is not in any way - just one of these rare golden photographic accidents. It perhaps helps to be a US-style pro, with $10,000 large-field tournaments popping up everywhere to practise on, when it comes to the time of evening when it starts to feel like the marathon it is. These guys still look pretty focused, whereas I imagine the multiple long days may take their toll on the qualifiers more heavily...

Thank you if you happen to see my Husband will you tell him that i love him and send lots of cyber Never fear - he's still in with 16,000. Can't convey such sentiments terribly effectively without lots of poker players looking at me funny, but I'll tell him if I see him in a break...
