To be fair, the satellite competitions generally make for a decent field.

Have to agree with rockstar, Omaha has never worked, but just maybe it is gaining enough in popularity to be worthwhile. I think it will always struggle with numbers, as much as I would love it to become a permanent fixture. As for satellite night, it will be a shame if it doesn't work - it really should work. Perhaps the missing ingredient would be for the prizes to be awarded as lammers so that winners have a little more flexibility on which events they play (and if need be people can play Monday nights even if they have no intention of playing a GUKPT as the lammers can change hands.) It shouldn't bother the casino, as the lammers have to eventually be used by someone buying into the GUKPT, so Monday nights would be supporting the G festivals.
Overall, the schedule looks much-improved, hope it is borne out by attendance figs, well done.

Great useage of the word "lammers" Simon.
What the hell does it mean?

Lammers are chips they give you when you win a satty, use then to buy into comps.

Mmmmm ... I think the Omaha might turn out to be the 'surprise package'.
Middle of the week .... summat different from what's on elsewhere .... affordable for the 'Omaha curious' (even Chompy might - eventually - be able to figure out the four card game ... though he does seem to struggle with two) .... and a guarantee - it could well be a winner.
The only other time the G tried it, it was 'tacked on' late on Sunday in competition with the 4pm Sunday £100 comp - but it was still getting 20/25+ in the face of such adversity.
As for derisory comments from a faded (former) GUKPT Champ - unfortunately for you Mr Johnson, we now have a certain Mr Nick Crisp as the 'Luton Talk of the Town' .... not Corby's very own Quentin Crisp!
