Title: Call? Post by: snoopy1239 on April 23, 2006, 06:15:38 PM Last night, Walsall £300er, 30 players left.
I'm up there with the chip leaders with 64k and prob biggest stack on my table. Blinds 1k/2k All fold round to me. I flatcall A-J off. Carl Thomas in big blind (agressive) bets 4.5k. Thought he would, so I called 4.5k and raised 10k. He moves all-in for 20.7k I have 47.5k left. Call would take me down to 26.8k... and make me a pretty shortstack. 47.5k is still big. Should I call? Thoughts please. Should I call? Title: Re: Call? Post by: moritzey on April 23, 2006, 06:24:18 PM How many get paid?

Title: Re: Call? Post by: Indestructable on April 23, 2006, 06:36:13 PM I would fold.
Title: Re: Call? Post by: TightEnd on April 23, 2006, 06:41:38 PM Fold
You asked the question. You found out Live to fight another day Mr Big Stack Title: Re: Call? Post by: ACE2M on April 23, 2006, 06:51:09 PM Have you seen him in many hands going all in pre flop?
The only hands that you can call are A rag or pairs below JJ. Discounting the possibility of 2 face cards or total rags. Do you think he would make this move with these hands? The pot lays you 5/2 so anyhting other than these hands is not a call. Up to your read really. Title: Re: Call? Post by: Suited_Jock on April 23, 2006, 07:15:27 PM Fold and wait for a better spot.
Just out of interest what position were you in? Was this a BSB battle? Title: Re: Call? Post by: moritzey on April 23, 2006, 07:32:14 PM If only 18 get paid, I'd fold. What happened?
Title: Re: Call? Post by: snoopy1239 on April 23, 2006, 07:52:30 PM He's not a reckless players, just agressive. There's no reason he couldn't make this move with something as weak as T-7 suited, especially seeing that I'd been pushing people around a lot... including him.
18 get paid, but I was playing to win... I was in the small blind, he was in the big blind. Title: Re: Call? Post by: ACE2M on April 23, 2006, 08:12:16 PM i'm a bit concerned that you didn't raise his bb in the 1st place.
tough decision but in general i think i would fold, if you think it's 50/50 that your in fron i would call. Title: Re: Call? Well, I called to reraises so can't complain. I had a feeling he'd take a shot at it, but wasn't expecting a rereraise. Title: Re: Call? Post by: temp0r on April 23, 2006, 08:34:10 PM if you were playing to win then call for pot odds. you know you're probably behind maybe even as much as 70/30. even a bigblind defensive aggressive player doesn't get this carried away too often at this stage of a tournament so you know there's some strength there. but mathematically it's still a call.
question i have is if you knew he was aggressive then why re-raise if you're not going to call an all-in?! Title: Re: Call? If his range is this big then you've got to call really haven't you? Title: Re: Call? Post by: JP on April 25, 2006, 01:27:43 PM Call especially if he is aggressive. He can make this play with any reasonable hand. I rarely take this line of betting I would prob open raise and call the all in. The blinds are big people are gonna be taking shots with bad hands I think.
