Top 3 old cop shows.
The Professionals.
The Sweeney.
Hill Street Blues.
Top 3 modern cop shows
Unforgotten.
Happy Valley.
Line of Duty.
Huh?
No Z-Cars?
No Dixon of Dock Green?
No Morse?
Never managed to watch Morse even though I know it was hugely popular. It just seemed all soft and old ladyish to me.
How do you know it was soft and old ladyish if you never watched it? That's like me saying Breakng Bad is poo. (Though I'm quite certain it is).
I don't know, I'm just making the assumption based on glimpses of leafy English country lanes, listed buildings, tweed jackets, maroon Mk10 Jags, bumbling sidekicks etc.
It all seems very charming and predictable.
Never the less, I will watch an episode if you watch an episode of Breaking Bad.

Of the three old shows I would suggest that only Hill St Blues is watchable now. I’m struggling to think of other old shows that might have managed to stand the test of time. Maybe the first dozen episodes of The Bill.
How old is old? Mersey Blues was pretty good, but that was the only the 90s.
Modern shows - I haven’t seen the three you mention, probably should though.
Bosch is excellent. Based on some excellent novels by Michael Connelly and very pure in the transition to TV.
No Offence is brilliant. Start from the beginning if you can find it on ITV Player.
Vera has much to commend it, not just the wonderful Brenda Blethyn but also the fabulous Northumbrian scenery.

You haven't seen my shows and I haven't seen yours. It just goes to show how much stuff there is out there now David.
Life was so much simpler with just the 2 channels. Back then conversations about TV went like this-
"Did you watch the Avengers last night?"
"Yes"

Rumpole of The Baily is still magnificent - if you like that kind of thing.

Why would I lie to you about watching The Avengers? 😂

I was disadvantaged by having read the books first and for me the quality of the prose didn't translate to the screen.

I missed out on the books but I love the way Leo McKern played Rumpole and always feel that he was perfectly cast.

I saw this actor the other day and he reminded me of someone.
After two days of racking my brains I think it may be a poker player called Norman from Sheffield who I seem to recall is/was a scrap man.
Does this ring a bell with anyone else or am I going mad?

I can see where you're coming from - the hair is very similar.

I get emails from this lot every so often, almost always of things I can't afford but want.
Think this could be a fantastic weekend break wildlife watching in your own dome... -

And in the same email, I saw this and thought of you... it was the cub you got wasn't it?

I like the electrified Cub Rod, although to be fair you would be much better off buying a purpose-built electric bike, they have a much better range. (Almost 100 miles on some)
I don't like the pods. I like to see and not be seen as in a hide or in my little camper with the heavy tint windows. I can't tell you how many people have had a slash beside it when it's in a car park overnight. The girls often check their make-up in the reflection of the windows, not realising that my face is only inches from theirs.
Oooh Missus!

Have you watched Better Call Saul?
Its the prequel to Breaking Bad but centres around the lawyer Saul.
You obviously get loads of back story about a lot of the other BB characters.
It is different to BB but equally fantastic.
+1 on the recommendation of Better Call Saul. It's a fantastic series and, arguably, better than Breaking Bad. Totally worth 40 hours of your time on Netflix to get upto speed.
