Simon says

"$500,000 GTD in June partypoker Monthly $500+$50 Deepstack (1000 entries needed) at Dusk Till Dawn

 Plus $225,000 in side events - High Roller, 2nd Chance & 6-Max.

Our monthly Deepstack was the first event we ever ran at the Club, from June, we are relaunching this in partnership with partypoker on the 1st week of every month. For the first time ever we will be offering players a 45 min clock Day 1 and 60 mins Day 2 and Day 3, basically the same structure as one of our higher buy in festivals.

This schedule will continue for the rest of 2015 - at least these size of guarantees.

Online Satellites are now running on partypoker at 7pm & 10pm to win $550 Tickets. Players can use these for ANY $550 buy-in event at Dusk Till Dawn, e.g. WPT 500, no restrictions, complete flexibility for satellite players. "

Hi there

Will cash buy in be available at the club for all events?

you can buy in on partypoker online, at the club or via the dtd shop

"   Players are allowed a maximum of 1 Re-Entry per Day 1
Players can play multiple Day 1's and take their Highest Stack through
partypoker qualifiers, online Day 1 players and online direct-buy ins will have their winnings paid into their partypoker accounts
DTD will publish the sterling buy-in for players who prefer to buy in at the Club or online shop"

Hi Tighty

Just to clarify, does that mean if you buy in with cash at Dtd, you will receive winnings from Dtd in cash (i.e. It isn't a necessity to have a Partypoker account for winnings to be paid?)

Thanks

If you won $120 Tickets in our Ticket Tourneys and didn't use them for the Grand Prix then you can use them to qualify for our next event the partypoker Deepstack. $500 buy-in, $500,000 GTD.

We have upped the number of seats GTD per night also.

Good news to see the monthly deepstack is back and even better to see a 45 minute clock instead of 40 minutes. Also pleased to see we can buy in at DTD cash desk and be paid out there as well.

I can see why Party Poker would like buy ins via their site and have winnings paid into their account as it increases liquidity on their site but from overhearing conversations in casinos during the Grand Prix recently I believe it has a negative effect on numbers for the tournament.

The Leics 25/25 is always relatively poorly attended.  This should pretty much put that event in a coffin this weekend now straight after the grand prix as well.  Lovely to see the old £300 deepstack back as a monthly mainstay on the poker scene.

59 unique runners the rest of the money re entries on the dtd website assuming that is where the figures are taken from.

pretty sure the buy in was $1650, so 1500 + 50 or £1080

Makes the gtd's look bigger than they actually are.  all joking aside i assume it is because of the party poker software.

Seems like too many obstacles for the casual player for me which is what the deepstack is all about at the start of the month when everyone has been paid.  Not surprising the numbers are struggling.  3 day event now instead of 2.  20% of the prizepool taken out for $3500 seats for a week long event which most casuals either a) wouldn't want to play or b) couldn't get the time off work to play and they cannot be transferred/used for other dtd events i assume?

Just my own views on the subject which i hope will be taken constructively.  I appreciate things change over time.  Not sure if anyone else feels the same or if it is just me?  I really want to play it tomorrow but there is only a turbo event first thing in the morning. I really don't want 20% of my buy in going towards a $3500 seat for an event i don't want to play should i be lucky enough to get that far.

Totally agree Mark, I got my $500 dollar seat through the Gran Prix which would give me a shot at a bigger event which I played yesterday, but taking seats out the prize pool is okay if you are a serious player, me personally being a cash player the grind through playing 3 days to hopefully cash is not what the old £300 deepstack was like, So much time consuming with family/work is a real strain to some people, Dtd is and will remain the Mecca of Poker and pushes boundaries more than anyone and the Relationship with Party Poker seems to be attracting more numbers online and to the club which can only be a good thing, Was really surprised to see so many bullets at it yesterday by some of the regs but value was there with the view of an overlay.
Hope to catch up with you soon as not seen you for ages.

Does the break start at 1050pm?  Or finish at 1050pm?  When they say last buy in at 1050pm?  Assume it finishes at 1050pm and then play commences and no more buy ins?

Everyone loves 'Value' and i'm guessing there is plenty of that at dtd this weekend, something that all poker players appreciate and welcome!

However, wasn't the ethos at dtd to create a venue to encourage grass route players to attend and play poker, win decent money from a reasonably price stake and create a poker community??  Rob Young has rightly blogged about this aspiration many times and this is to his credit!!

The Main event is a $550 buy in with multiple day 1's and All side events appear to be $500 buy ins.  Is this really going to encourage the grass route players and poker masses to attend and play at dtd.  In my opinion events of this nature should have a mix of events and buy in to encourage participation.  This surely encourages all poker players of differing calibre's and means to come and play at the club!?  There is a high roller event for persons of deep pockets, a main event for the many but nothing reasonably priced as a side event.  why I ask myself?? This must be good for the game as every new poker player, aspire to play bigger events as their experience and confidence grows.  If they are playing $100 torneys today there likely to be playing the $500 and $1k tomorrow. etc (you get what I mean).

If you wanted to play every day one (and there is 5 of them) plus all side events, then this would be a very expensive weekend, and a price that most recreational poker players could not afford and even if they could afford it may not be able to justify!??

For what my opinion is worth (your prob reading this and thinking 'not much') there should be some more reasonable priced side events to cater for all pockets and tastes!  Coming off the back of the grand prix, I believe a £110 side event would have encouraged many more people who enjoyed the gran prix to return and have another great weekend at dtd > fish food for thought!!

Well done to Ben. Shared a table with him for a full day on Saturday and seems like a really nice thoughtful kind of player. He took a few bad beats during the session and was  down to 10 big blinds on Saturday afternoon. He eventually pushed with JJ and managed a triple up. Shortly after he ran KK into AA and spiked a King and the rest is history. He played very well all through the day and I has a feeling we would do well. On the Sunday morning he flopped quad 7's for a small pot so it was clear he was also on a heater. On a separate note I do hope the players start to turn up for this comp now it's going to be a regular in the calendar. The structure is brilliant allowing tons of play and the only thing that's regrettably missing at the moment are the Tighty updates on Blonde.

Is this correct or is the 25k a typo?

Okay thanks- I don't really understand that rule, but hey ho.

I remember last year to the Goliath they had the same rule, but I overheard someone at the cash desk giving someone else's name when claiming a satellite seat. When asked did he buy the ticket he said yes, and was just given his buy in slip....

is this what you are referring to?

"Between us all, we must have answered hundreds of questions about this Deepstack being in $, so;

* The Deepstack will be advertised to DTD members at our original and popular £300+£30 buy-in, whilst maintaining the 1000 runner guarantee - £300,000 prizepool

* Players who use a $550 DTD Ticket or directly buy-in for $550 on partypoker will be refunded any exchange rate difference based on the xe.com spot rate that day. For example, as I type, the rate is 1.527, so a $550 DTD Ticket is the equivalent of £360, so we will simply refund players the £30 difference into their online accounts after using their $550 DTD Ticket - this is exactly the same system that we have used previously"

Gutted, planned on playing this weekend and just realised its now a 3 day comp. when did this happen?

the mo nthly deepstack came back a couple of months ago and was then adjusted in response to feedback

Rob talked about that in his blog http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/blog.php?profile=4&id=517

eg "DAY 1 LIVE TURBO - 11AM START & EXTRA 45 MINS LATE REG

The Saturday Day 1 live Turbo started at 10:30am, a little too early for travelling poker players especially if they get stuck in traffic, so we will;

* Move the start time to 11:00am

* Give players an extra 45 minutes to arrive and still get in by extending late reg untill 1:45pm "

you can play an online day 1 or the saturday day 1

playing the saturday day 1 means it can be a two dayer with day 2 later on saturday and final day sunday

the schedule is on http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/news/monthly-deepstack-at-dtd/2477#schedule

Impressive scenes in the online leg last night with not enough runners to start it and after Nicola got a later start time they eventually started 4 handed and 12 minutes later Steve O'Keefe had ironed out the others and was through to day 2 with 200k and the shortest day 1 in history!

If so is this still the case?

Cheers.

Did I read somewhere that players are able to play online day 1s and then pick a month in which they want to play their day 2 stack?

If so is this still the case?

Cheers.

party poker lobby has a monthly deepstack section under the dtd tab and you can register in there with your ticket (the 9.00 EDT flight for friday 2pm)

if you register online chips not in play until you arrive - just a way to collect funds and tickets

Yes you can cash the 2nd in for expenses or carry it forward/use for re-entry

Impressive scenes in the online leg last night with not enough runners to start it and after Nicola got a later start time they eventually started 4 handed and 12 minutes later Steve O'Keefe had ironed out the others and was through to day 2 with 200k and the shortest day 1 in history!

WOW!

"The Monthly £300 Deepstack - should this be a 2 day event with 40 minute clock (therefore having a Day 1 on Saturdays) OR the 3 day format we have trailed for June and July? All feedback appreciated "

This 3 day structure is great for professional players who have time on their hands.  However, the deep stack needs to attract a thousand entrants or so to make it a success..... are there a thousand pros willing to turn up on a monthly basis, im guessing not!

So to make this event increasingly popular there needs to be a high mix of recreational and club players and people with deep pockets, I am not sure that this structure allows many recreational or club players a chance to get involved in the main event as the day 1's are predominantly midweek with the exception of Saturday morning (which is a turbo and a form of 'last chance saloon') which most regular/decent players would not entertain and only do so out of necessity.
I believe that this format excludes the many (who work weekdays) and who can only play on a weekend.
In this 3 day structure, the only realistic event that a recreational play can get involved with in my opinion is restricted to the Friday evening day1, as it is the only day 1 which has a decent clock and doesn't include a turbo.

I am in a position where I can juggle my schedule and play any day of the week, so to me this three day schedule is great but I think for the many it is likely to be a hindrance.
with dtd needing high volumes of runners, they should not exclude any category of poker play if they can help it!
I myself fired two bullets, the Friday 2pm with a 45 min clock which I really enjoyed and begrudgingly the Saturday morning turbo which is an awful event (never to be repeated).

Guessing something needs to change as the guarantees do not seem to be being made......Or is this the Vegas lag??!! time will tell.

Get rid of the online days which attract less than 20 players- its simply not a level playing if some are playing short handed from the outset and throughout.

I think you can have Day 1A (online)
Day 1B and C live Thurs (2pm and 7pm)
Day 1D 2pm Fri
The turbo Friday night (7pm)
Saturday Day 2 start 12pm play down to final
Sunday final day

Second chance runs Saturday with turbo Sat night and day 2 Sunday but make it cheaper- say £150- much more likely to get a decent amount of bust outs plus new runners pitching it at a different level

Just my 2 cents

For purely selfish reasons a 2 day monthly deepstack is better. I don't play poker online and don't really want to commit to 3 days playing live poker when I have family and work commitments. I always buy in direct and don't mind having multiple bullets if I can afford it. Can't see me attending DTD for the foreseeable future :(

Being lazy but I agree with this.  We played the turbo day 1 on Saturday out of necessity this time but it's not something we would want to do regularly.

If it was a 40 min clock as a 2 day tournament with a day 1 on the Saturday we would play it every month.

Those payouts are wrong as I got £2100 (sterling not $2250) and the winner got £49850 plus the £150 they gave for making day2 so £50k total.

Simon Trumper

"Well the results of our Deepstack poll were 70% in favour of the old style £330 DTD Deepstack. - 2 Days including a Saturday Day 1.

So our August Deepstack will be just that.

However I have agreed with Rob to keep the 1000 player guarantee so please help us achieve this number and keep this a monthly event for all.

There will be mega sats online and live and with a £50,000 guaranteed first prize fabulous value for a 2 day event .. play your day 1 online or live at the club .. your choice ..

we have also via player feedback removed the £150 Day 2 payment ...

This is back to basics for the £330 Deepstack but double the old £150k guarantee"

Just a reminder for all players that have already won a Deepstack seat...or those that want to win more than one.

All seats (bar promotional) are valid for 12 months.

You do NOT need to use them for this Deepstack.

You CAN use them for Pokerfest LIVE if you wish.

Second seats CAN be exchanged for expenses during the DS Main Event.

If you want to retain them they can be used for the WPT500.

40 seats guaranteed per night (20 Live, 20 Online) until Thursday night

Do you still have to use the $3500 seat if you top 25 with no refunds/ability to sell it or split it down into credit for future £300 deepstacks or smaller events?  Really want to play this now it is back to 2 days but really don't want a $3500 seat potentially.

Going to be a monster overlay on this i would imagine.  What time will the 5pm leg finish tonight given it is a 12 noon start on Sunday?  Is it really late?

Ok cheers Tighty.  This is where is was confusing on the dtd website.  It said the live 12 noon start times were 40 minute clocks and the 5pm start times were 30 minutes. Are we sure it is a 30 minute clock?  I assume one was just a typo.  Can't have different length levels surely depending on start time?

Congrats Tom.

Nice to see too, that 'Yian Is I' can now afford to enter the Blonde FPL comp again this season.
