Couldnt be bothered changing to another forum so thought i would just ask here. We keep hearing that the FA have 'concerns' about having allardyce as next England manager. Am I missing something completely obvious, but what are these concerns??

That there hasn't been a properly successful English manager since Wilkinson?

Im pretty sure im not the only one that would take winning every competitive game 1 nil if it meant we won the world cup.... look at englands rugby team, when we won the world cup we hardly played sincilating rugby, jst used our forward strength and let sir jonny knock over the goals...

So you're not concerned about this then

personally i'd give it peter taylor, did an amazing job with most of the current crop in his first stint as U21 boss before being abruptly repolaced for no reason after 20 games unbeaten, he made Becks captain in his 1 senior game in charge too. and is working wonders with the U21's again now.
although big sam would be good as he has the will and the passion, dont think curbs would do well though IMO

all very good, but what are the specific issues with big Sam? Just the way all the papers are reporting it, its as if there is an issue with him, and not his quality as a manager!!

The issue is lack of comedy value, Sven we do the silly swedish voice and basil fawltey gangly thing, old Tel we do the gangster linked old blue eyes thing. Hoddle well.... comedy gold mine.
Big Sam?
His name is even bad to ryhme stuff with, half the tabloids can't even spell allerdyce/allrdice/allerdyce.
If i was writing the back pages i would be upset. Have to pick on Beckham again.

The issues with Big Sam are 1) his childish spat with Alan Green, and refusing to talk to Radio Five. Dealing with the media is a huge part of the England manager's job - spitting his dummy out over perceived sleights against him won't win him brownie points and 2) the sneaking suspicion that he's a manager who relies on work-rate because he has a lack of creativity.
Remember the last World Cup when Brazil went 2-1 up against us? Sven's total lack of ability to change his strategy (essentially there was no Plan B) cost us. The FA want to try and get someone who will be able to come up with a Plan B if things go wrong - rather than just shout at his players to 'run about more'.

Played next to a West Ham player this week
Said they got thrashed at Bolton
"they are really diffcult to play against because they are big, strong and organised"
what do you think of Big Sam
" fine with that type of club constantly over-achieving but hasn't got the tactical variations or detailed knowledge necessary to be a top manager at international level"
