Slovenia is amazing - check out portorose, beautiful little place and every weekend 300 Italians cross the border to play poker at the local casino. It's also a 20 min drive from both Italy and Croatia

Tonight was very hard to take mentally.

I went in with the plan of playing 8 tabkles maximum and just late regging reg speeds to fill table space up. I'm not going to moan about running bad, it is worse than I've ever encountered with around 15/40 tournies getting knocked out with 2 outers but its how it effects me mentally that I'd like to speak about/concerned about.

I'm not sure if this is normal, but I'm literally scared to get it all in a lot of the time now. For example I had 99 on 952 and instead of thinking how am I going to win the most money here I was thinking "Which way will I lose here? 1 outer quads? 2 outer overpair? Gutshot" It was really weird to think like this and I didn't like it (he hit a 2 outer in the end fwiw)

The money obviously matters but really not concerned about that at all, I love playing poker and I love getting deep in tournaments and having battles, I really thrive on it, playing what you think is your A game without getting any rewards, a sweat is enough, I don't even care about winning anymore Cheesy is very hard to take.

I remember making a very similar post like this around SCOOP last year and then deleting it because I felt guilty moaning about running bad, it's been 10x worse here, but basically before SCOOP I was playing 5x a week and just crushing smaller fields then SCOOP came and I got brutalised. I had looked forward to SCOOP for months and months and then it came and I wanted it to go and for my old tournaments to come back. It's exactly the same with WCOOP now. Perhaps its an A-HA moment, it isn't a great idea for me to play the schedules I am playing, loading the 30c, 10c, or any other small tournament will never be as good as opening a 500nl or 1knl table. WCOOP has shown me that I love tournaments, I really do, but I need to be more selective about what I play. Previously I was 30 tabling, now I'm prefering playing 8 tables and playing A-game.

Last time in the last leg of SCOOP I managed a final table in the 20c, a deep run in the main and a big run in a bounty tournament, lets hope it repeats itself here..

One thing I am running well in is swaps, I've paid out around 60-70k more in swaps this year than I've received, but had some decent ones this WCOOP. Lets hope I'm shipping my friends some money next weekend.

Here is some hands I boomed from the session today:

Cal decided to jam this hand pre flop this deep in this structured tournament, hes the goat so I'm sure it's good/fine, but it seems v ott to me at first glance

My exit in the 2k, not sure this guys turn call is real, but whatever.. Flop would be close if he wasn't a whale, would almost always check back I guess. River has to be a value bet if hes calling turn this wide

Good reg jams pre, surely this has to be awful.?

http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hands/Boom/10922372_0999E454D3

Interesting hand vs Middy, really like the way he played it with timings etc, was pretty shocked when I saw what he had, wp by him vs my range for sure though

They all seem like bad beats but they wern't the bad ones from today, I'll try to post more weaktight spots from tomorrow, but its hard on a Sunday with so many tables I guess.

Imfromsweden who is known by a lot of people on here is a good friend of mine, we think very similar in No Limit. He's just learning PLO right now and after WCOOP we're going to do a lot together and try to get very good together. He kind of helped me as I was moving up mid stakes, in terms of just chatting everyday as we grinded in the same office and staked people and coached people together, we agree on a lot of things so glad we can do it together rather than hiring a coach, its more fun when you teach yourself.

Good night and good luck all!

Yesterday was quite tilting.

Finished 16th/2000 in the 200c, last scoop I bet a lot on myself, bricked the first 2 weeks then cashed for 30k or so in the 200c so was really looking forward to this event, it was nearly déjà vu but never mind, still an ok cash and gives me a little momentum.

Have been watching a bunch if hostage/kidnap documentaries over the last few days will post some of those and some interesting a hand histories when I'm next on the computer.

If you are into all that gangster & kidnap sort of stuff, I watched a Show about a chap named Guy Heinze last night. He was convicted last year of (wait for it) bludgeoning EIGHT of his family to death one night.

Anyway, I decided to do some research on the trial, which ended in a very odd way after a hung jury, then a juror was dismissed, then a deal was struck whereby he'd get life (proper life, for ever) instead of the Death Penalty.

And all that led me to a site I'd not seen before, but I spent half the night perusing - MURDERPEDIA.com

Some gruesome stuff in there. Lock the door before you read it.

Some catchy name that, eh? - MURDERPEDIA

@Tikay, most of the fascination I get from watching them is the psychological impact it often has on the woman. Stockholm Syndrome is really interesting to me. I wonder how many unfound girls there are in cellars right now though? What would you guess? dozens? Hundreds?

Two interesting numbers from the last couple of days

1- The FBI suspect there is close to 100,000 kids in America kidnapped and/or sold for sex. What?!!!?
2- Emma Watson in her fantastic he/she speech this week stated that the largest form of death for 20-49 year old males is suicide.

Both really, really surprised me. Concerning the latter, don't you think it's a little odd that so few poker players commit suicide? There have been a couple of cases, but really not that many.

@Dan, yeah seen it a lot of times, it kind of gives me the chills a little bit when I watch it.
