FWIW I never thought a scam - as has been pointed out us "opportunists", me included saw this as a shrewd opportunity and offered staking - at no point did you ask for staking.
Hope you get things sorted - I agree with Dave on loads of his points, I think saying half of us on here have some sort of gambling problem is generous - I'd say its nearer 80%.
In my view though, the "problem" or indeed opportunity has a range, where at one end there is good BRM, staking patterns, self awareness of "tilt" triggers, tilt control, emotional resilience, solid personal life, good understanding of gambling concepts, solid research etc. At the other end are the opposites of these, some controllable by education (such as BRM, research techniques) some less controllable (e.g.life events) and some in the middle (e.g. psychological ability to deal with emotional instability - for example, biggest learning I ever had through psychological analysis through work was that a trigger for me is using gambling to stave of depression / loneliness, so don't ever stake me when I am down :-)
Its all about self awareness and ability to accept the above and understand where you are as an individual and how to manage for positive life EV. If you are at the far right end - your choices are tackle the areas to move left on the spectrum and continue having gambling in your life or get out....e.g the GA route.
So if you are happy your one the left, happy to continue with some sort of staking with things in place where you are happy as an individual and we are happy. If not, no worries - hope you sort things out and if you ever want a chat drop me a PM.

I can just about go one day without gambling.
There would have to be a huge incentive to go longer than that.

If Keira said the only thing that stop her being with me was my gambling habit, I'd consider giving it up.

Too weak Keith!!
Great post Claypole, If we find a away that we are confident the cash is handled ok then I am happy to still give the 200 to the fund.
Got to give the man a chance. If I do my dough getting a few weeks of interest in some tennis bets then so be it, if I picked em myself that's what would happen anyway.

Which bit is too weak, not being able to go more than a day without gambling or giving it all up for Ms Knightley?

It's not her, quite obviously.
