Dusk Till Dawn are proud to host the second poker event of the Mega Poker Series 2012. Poker 770 have taken lucky number 7 to the extreme with a buy in of €700 + €70, a 77 minute clock and 77,000 chips; it was inevitable the main event would begin on Wednesday 7th March!

This 4 day event will be held over 5 days with two day 1’s and the option to re-enter into day 1b should you get knocked out of day 1a. Day 4 will be played on Sunday 11th March. A VIP Players party will be hosted on Saturday 10th March with a buffet for the players.

Also there's no guarantee so even if it was DTD there wouldn't be any restrictions.

Not sure if I am actually looking forward to this, or it will be an almighty grind where I'd rather put pins in my eyes ;-) - sure it will be fun!

To be honest it will not be that much of a grind. When I started playing GUKPT events in 2008 I looked at the structure and timing of them and the final table was hit about level 21 or so and that was with the mighty stack of 10,000 and average of 275/350 runners.
     The last deepstack I played in Ireland with 580 runners and 50,000 chips still hit final table ( without me unfortunately ) at I think level 26. Admittedly this is 77 min levels but anyone want to guess the level final table reached maybe Trigg will run a book!
      Bookie`s guess with say 375ish runners level  22.

Can I congratulate Kev Smith (autobetkev) for busting first and spewing on my behalf as I couldn't make the event. <3 u man

I'm out, managed to get 90,000 chips in on a flop of  Ahrt 2d Jd holding  Ad 6d, 3 way pot and 3 bet pre, check raised all in and got called by  Aspades Kc...............previous to that lost a 80k pot with  Jh Js v  Ahrt Ks, all in preflop, i think I may not have adjusted to their structure that well!

Actually, I had fun although not a initial fan of the structure, this would have been a good comp if;

1. Poker 770 had not changed the date 5 times and then set a date with only 3 weeks notice!
2. Had put a GTE of greater that £0 on it
3. Had had a quicker clock on Day 1's, then reverted to 77 minutes on day 2
4. Advertised the event in decent media
5. Ran a decent satelitte program on Ipoker for last 3 months
6. Sent us some branding earlier than 2 weeks before the event

I guess they will get 200-250 runners so a £100k ish prize pool, their qualifiers and pros/vip players are in tomorrow's Day 1b, but this could have been such a better attended event if they had done any of the above, which we advised them from the outset.

duno how i only got 203k. could and prob should of been like 400. Had a real soft table and apart from 3 decentish players, the rest were pretty awful.
Structure was a big slow for me, yesterday was such a fking grind. But its hard to pls all the people all the time :-)

A-A versus K-K, king first card.
Didn't look happy and probably still mumbling profanities under his breath.

Disappointed with numbers. Will prob put people off playing Day 1B.
Am guessing many people choose between this and the monthly.
Monthly is cheaper, shorter, and requires less 'days off' for the 9-5ers. And has guarantee! Easy choice.
Loved the structure, but Poker770 could have surely put some sort of guarantee on it. Maybe not €770,000.

Poker770 comp @ DTD - Very first hand I flop top set with QQ on Q53 vs 55 and 33. All goes in on the flop 270k at 600/1200, get rivered by quad 5's and the updates say I had the 33. Now that's pretty tilting.

Weird though that he's tilted not by the beat, but the fact the updates got his hand wrong. (Unless I'm reading the emphasis incorrectly)

Im reading that the same way bad beat story because of updates not the actuall beat though is pretty sick ive heard a few other reports of mis reporting in the 770 updates no where near as good as tightys deepstack updates!!

You're right, he sounds more upset at the updates being incorrect than him being badly outdrawn boy.

Super Tight Button raises 3500, I re-raise to 10,500 (blind), he has folded to all my re-raises previously, I have 150k, he has 170k

Button Calls (woops, I have  Jh 6c) , the flop comes down  5h 4s 9s, I bet 12,000, he smooth calls (sigh)

Turn - bingo  7c, I have an up and down, I check, he bets 25k, I move all-in, he sits back in his chair, looks up to the gods, dwells for 5 mins, grabs his chips and says 'i think youre trying to make me fold'

He turns over Ahrt 5d, second bottom pair! I turn over my monster,  Jh 6c, I actually have 14 outs, river blanks.

Pretty awful play unless I hit or he folded! Need some adjustments before Irish Open for sure :)

I don't think the festival has increased action on any tables. They've had fewer players through the door than they usually have in a normal week, It's been a "less poker than normal" festival.

I played with Tom pretty much all the way from the start of day 2 to the final and thought he played really really well. He definitely ran the best but he played great also, a deserving winner but Stato was pretty unlucky not to get much of a chance to make a match of it heads up, the guy just got there in all the big pots.

Thanks to everyone for supporting me/wishing me well/congratulating me over the weekend (Especially Alex for updating this in the end). Was great having a load of mates there at the end just sorry I couldn't deliver the victory for them.

Gutted Deadman got brutalised early on, enjoyed having a good mate at the table for a large proportion of the week and he played great (basically anything good I do in live tournaments these days is cause he told me to lol, could probably have done with some heads up tips mind) , no doubt he'll win Walsall next week to make up for it though!

Final table was really fun, interesting and tough, thought I handled it pretty well, until heads up where I got destroyed by Tom. He played really well throughout and definitely deserved the win, nice lad also so congratulations mate. Guess that's something I can look to work on from here, cos I still feel like I've lost at the minute. Still 21k is a good score and I even get to keep some :), so I go to sleep a happy man.
