Title: Blondes go mad!!!!! staking Ironside for the wsope PLO event
Post by: Ironside on July 11, 2008, 07:41:05 AM
It started as a joke on a day when staking for live events was being debated on blonde. Snoopy put up a post on the wsope,

I would love to play this event but know that a 5th in a Blackpool £300 PLO event on my first live experience of the game was not the sort of pedigree I need for stumping up £5500 to play a game again Europe's and the worlds best player so made this post.

OK i am selling shares in myself

for the PLO

i will sell 1% at £75

i am willing to sell 65% of myself

my ev to the field is about -245%

any person willing to buy a share

should send me a PM following the PM make a call to your GP and get a referral to the local shrink

thanks for the shares

I am glad boldie thought it was the funniest thing I have ever written I put allot of effort into it. But then AndrewT posted he wanted a share and encouraged more to jump on the bandwagon, tighty came in, and so did jakally, even flushy offered up 0.1% he later changed that for 2%. Then a man whom I though better of Julian "yoyo" Thew asked for 1% and tikay (I think the Alzheimer's is kicking in).

To me it seemed that it might be worth seeing if i could drum up enough interest. so I said if enough interest was around by this weekend I would set up diary

I intend to get a blog going today and also update this thread cause some insane bidding by blondes has seen the stakes rises to over 20% and I had to knock back actionmans 0.01% as it would get messy sorting out the 75pence's.

The pledge I have given is that IF I make the money and get less that £7500 I would give everyone there money back before i get a penny. I will keep an honest and frank diary and blog up till and including the event.
I can only put up £1000 out of my own pocket + £1000 that it will cost me in expenses so to make it worthwhile for me to play (keeping 35%) I need to mark the shares up at £75 meaning I will need to sell 60% of myself to make it a runner anyone that has pledge to stake me will get a link on my blog to a personal web page or blog (if they wish) anyone wishing to withdraw from there pledge please let me know now or as soon as you get back from your visit to the shrink.

havent even thought about the transfer caught on the hop etc

for those going to bB the weekend before i am happy to pick up the funds in luton

or if someone more central and trustworhy wishes to help collect the funds thats an option

i could speak to kev and get transfer to blondepoker accounts but that would have to be well ahead of time

so that the cage can get me the money on time

any winnings would be repaid by cheque or cash (stakers choice) so i would need addresses

i also wouldnt mind if someone wants to act as my PA to help collect names etc etc

i will be playing the event with the same ethos i normally do to enjoymelf but i will be trying my best on behalf of my stakers to get a return fot there money so wont do anything stupid to put me off (no to the annoymous PM i wont be a canidian lumberjack with suspenders and high heels)

i will be wearing a blonde poker shirt/t-shirt/sweatshirt when i am at the tables as basically all my tops are stuff i have bought from blonde

i am about to leave to play the D/C cash game at the international in aberdeen a report will be posted when i get back along with updating the stakes

Ginger has kinda offered to keep a spreadsheet of all the stakes and names

and suggested we into something called an escago (sp) that they use on 2+2 for money transfers
is there anyone that uses 2+2 that could explain what it is and how it works i would be greatfull

from my count we are now over the half way stage so anyone wishing to pull out please do so now as this might have legs (preferably working ones)

I don't see the need for an escrow company (LOL Ironside!) I'm sure most are happy just sending the money and if not, there's plenty of reputable people on here that could do it.  Just seems a bit of a waste of money, time and effort.

escrowing funds would be completely ridic and not actually serve any purpose. if ironstein really wanted to grim people without playing he could just unregister after the escrower had bought him in. and if he cashes only he can collect anyway so no use for escrowing after the tourney

Friday Night

I was really struggling to get the energy to drive the 90 mins through to the game at 10:30pm I got a text asking why I wasn't there I told them I would be there at midnight and promptly left. As I arrived 2 players were leaving so I got a seat straight away. Its a 1/2 game with a minimum sit down of £100 most people buy in for £100 and when they bust they top up with £100. I normally sit with £200 and did so again tonight with a few pull up in my wallet in chips and cash.

First Hand of Note

The game is very lively and without anything remarkable I got up to £400 when the game of 5 card PLO single flop was chosen by TheAdmiral (blonde member), its usual in this game for a raise to £7 called in all spots with most people seeing the flop this hand was strange as TheAdmiral made it £7 the SB called I reraised to £25 with AA662ds aces all the early limpers would normally call but only TheAdmiral and SB called a flop of AT6 all diamonds wast the best of flops and i wanted to get a free turn card but knew it was unlikely the SB moves all in for £53 I wanted to isolate or get it all in there as Theadmiral had me covered. I made a huge mistake in not betting the pot I just made it £150 to play, it was called and the 2 of clubs on the turn was the worst card I could of seen. When I checked and got raised I passed with £190 back as there was only 3 tens 2 twos 1 six and an ace to hit, I knew I played the hand badly and quickly recouped my composure only for a T to hit the river and the admiral took down the whole pot with Q7d via the sb 53d.

Second Hand of Note

Very next hand is 6 card PLO double flop and its £25 to me in the sb with suited low cards with 3 callers already and 2 more behind me ready to call, I called the bet flop 1 came down 468h flop 2 came down QJ4c. I checked with the intention of folding to a bet I knew I had low flushes without looking at my cards and knew they were no good the reraise preflop made it £91 all in and I checked my cards while everyone else folded I looked and saw the 53h and 82c shit I thought nearly a straight flush but as I fanned my cards out in my hand I spotted the 7h as well, now I thought I was likely the All in had a better flush in clubs so I wanted one of the 2 players behind to come in so flat called, but they didn't oblige so I said I think its a split after 2 blanks hit on turn and river the other guy looked at me strange as he had both Aces but no other club and had hit top trips on the club side so my straight flush had beaten his Ace high flush and my 8 flush had taken the other board so I had gotten back the chips I had thrown away the previous hand.

Third Hand of Note

The next notable hand was playing 6 PLO single flop again on TheAdmirals button. I had not much of a hand pre but the 345 2 diamond flop looked pretty with my A6d with a 2 for the 2nd nuts straight with improvers, i was missing a 7, anyway the turn was seen by myself and TheAdmiral there was already over £200 in the pot, a 7 came on the turn which was about as perfect as it could get but i was still scared of the board pairing and also though if i bet the pot he would call with the 68 letting me free roll to the diamond (unless he did have outs to the boat) it was folded though and I took another nice pot.

Fourth Hand of Note

The next hand of note was a PLO8 hand (always single flops for HI/LO) on a QT8 2 club flop I wasn't the bothered with my top set and wasn't going to get too committed on flop hoping to see a cheap turn which was achieved with everyone checking it round. The turn brought an off suited 2 and I checked again a push for £60 from the guy (£1 left) 2 too my left was called in 3 spots it gave me the odds to call (hadn't put anyone on the straight as they would of bet out on flop) with the board ready very draw heavy I didn't want to get carried away as every wrapper low and flush draw would call and there would be so many bullets to dodge the guy behind me also called and 6 of us saw the turn which was a lovely 2 but a £100 bet on river got no action not even from the guy with £1 left I was still happy with the pot and how it played as I got paid the odds without putting my stack at risk.

Final Hand of the Night

The final hand 7 card PLO single of the night saw me flop the 2nd nut flush draw which was checked round, and hit bottom set on the turn as it was last hand of night everyone puts in £5 pre so when I called a turn bet there was over £200 in the pot the river hit my flush but I wasn't prepared to bet it even though I would have expected the nut flush draw to bet the flop, I thought I was good and was prepared to call down a bet on river I didn't want to bet out and face a reraise it was checked down and my 2nd nut flush took it down.

profit for night £650

Comedy Hand of the Night

A hand I am trying to forget, it was PLO double flop I was last to act on the flop and bet out £40 with 2 pair on both boards and a wrapper straight on one of the flops. I was check raised by the player on my left. for another £53, For some strange reason (brain fart) I called thinking I was behind on one if not both boards. But I scooped both pots without improving in fact on the flop where I had the wrappers thE board pair counterfeiting my 2 pair but I still won both pots.

Anyone of my Shareholders want to tell me what a prat I was in any of the hands please feel free

I'm backing you, but there's no way I'm reading the reports of the hands you've played unless someone else writes them, and no way I'm giving my money to a gastropod.

Seriously though, using any third-party escrow or payment system will mean that hundreds of pounds are wasted.  The easiest way to do this is to set up a savings account (with no limit on the amount that can be withdrawn at any time) and people transfer the money to this account.  No charges, everyone has a bank account, and for the ones that don't (if there are a few) they can transfer the money on blonde or give the cash to Ironstein.

If people want the money to be held in escrow, then it's as simple as someone who is trusted opening up the account and then them dealing with the money.

Shud be an option like 3rd party payments within ur online banking.

yeah you can, you make a standard online payment and it's free..(and most times same day now) the 20£ was a CHAPS payment as SJ said and is not a standard payment

maybe maybe not

some will top up 10 times in a night and there is regularly over £5000 on table at the end of the night with some pots over £2000

alot of the players ATM are new to the dealers choice games so are on the learning curve and if thye put more money on the table

the night would be short for them and they would learn slower

thats the definition of backer madness... people paying a 100% mark-up for a one time deal on a player that might or not have a positive expectation in live tournaments.

Ironside, good luck to you and i hope you sell out and go on to make everyone a good sum.

Not really..once the money has been paid it's always someone else's money untill you get it back. I never think about the money that I paid fro a tourney (maybe I should ;) ) but only what the prizemoney is.

Iron is a mug, and a pain in the arse ... but he is OUR mug and OUR pain in the arse .. I abuse him almost daily, its expected.

But heres the truth behind the banter ... Iron is my hero, while other people bitch and moan because of petty trivial things like a game of poker, he just shrugs his broad shoulders and gets on with his life, he travels all over the bloody place on trains planes and in his car ..... everywhere i go, people see the blonde logo on my shirt and 99% of the time the first thing they mention is Iron, everyone knows him, everyone has heard of him and everyone admires him for just getting on with it.

His mates can abuse him and give him grief, thats because he is "family" ... anyone else that tries the same will soon be shot down and put in their place, and rightly so.

So good luck Iron and I really really hope we can pull this off .... like i said, you are a mug, but you are OUR mug and we wouldnt want it any other way.

I think its fantastic that we as a community could have a realistic chance of getting Iron to the event, he could be selling shares at a high premium and he would probably (or should that be proberly) get just as much interest as if he was selling them at double their value.

Oh and one last thing, its a pretty safe bet that blonde wouldnt be here if it wasnt for Ironside ... FACT !!

That is so true. I ran this Forum totally alone for the first 9 months, & were it not for Iron, it would have closed down. He sorted everything, for everyone - Passwords, Avatars, Techie stuff, "standby Forum"/Chat Rooms when blonde had outages. For which he's never received a penny. I really hope we get this thing together, our way of saying "thank you" to a giant of a man.

I hope as many blondes as possible support him in this pipe-dream, it's the very least we can do.

Iron I just read that ypu've been playing some stars PLO MTT's-for the staking would it not be worth the majority of players who have Pokerstars or FullTilt to transfer the money by one of these 2 sites??

Theres no fee's involved(as would be with escrow, paypal or ebay)

If some of the backers haven't got either of these sites then they could just give the money to someone they know who does.

P.S M3boy ya tight bassa get staking- is 0.1% at £7.50 too MAD for you??

stick me down for 5% to start with iron and all the best in london. I will probably be playing in that event as well so we can have beer or two as well. If you dont make the 65% you have set your heart on dont give up- I may take a few more % of you and will be able to arrange something to get rid of a few % more.

Not once have I wished ill of Ironside, not once.

I have a different opinion on weather it is a good/bad investment than most people - so if I have a different opinion form others I should keep quiet?!?

Is it written in stone somewhere "You MUST agree with the masses on Blonde or face the consequences?"

Ironside has not taken offence, so why the hell should you?

Also you seem to be implying that I am "pissing" on other threads as well - which ones are you referring to?

I think the point is that this isn't an investment in the traditional sense, its a chance for people who know Iron, and admire him, to help him have a chance to recognise a dream.

Whilst of course money and sentiment aren't usual bedfellows, the amounts pledged by each individual are hopefully small for them, but in aggregate could reach quite a sum

Should the sentiment turn into an investment, fantastic. If not, no bother as far as my stake is concerned

in that sense its not a "usual" stake.

Tbh, yes.

This thread is asking for staking, you don't need to tell everyone they are mad for doing so.

There are a number of threads on here where I completely disagree with some of the things being asked of, but sometimes you have to stop your fingers from hitting the keyboard, especially when it doesn't ask for opinions!

well thats his opinion, and phraseology

If I may be so bold, I might say that despite a number of people pointing out after your first post on the thread that you had slightly missed the point about the attraction of the stake (ie their admiration for Ironside), you then repeated the point you made that Snoopy then quoted. Thus confirming that you had indeed missed it.

Ah this post you refer to?

All i did was answer a question put to me - hardly what I would call "pissing" on a thread.

And if I may be so bold - Indeed, I see nothing wrong with it - and although I take no offence in the next post made by James, I would consider this to be just as bad (if not worse) by your judging standards

So Snoopy is allowed to have "his opinion" because it agrees with "Blonde" or because it disagrees with mine?

I really fail to see the difference

I dont even know Iron personally and I have never played poker with him, but I think he seems a great guy from the blonde community- and I love this message board. Like most I dont really see this as a +ev investment (though you never know-gl Iron) so  this is why I'm willing to stump up £37.50 of my own money- i'm sure this is why a lot of people dont mind paying £7.50 for a small stake in him to acheive his dream- just hope you dont talk anybody out of it if they were considering it M3boy- IT IS JUST A BIT OF FUN FOR ME!!!

Were other peoples post directed at me in the same manor/decorum? No

Yet I am the one getting the "stick"

GL Ironside - hope you win the damn thing now m8! ;)

As for putting poeple off, I doubt it - This is clearly a "bit of fun", a "thankyou" for a great bloke, to give him "a shot" - none of which I have ever disagreed with.

What is your favorite game?
Hold’em, 7 Stud Hi/Lo or 5 Card Draw?
Maybe the famous Chinese poker, that is lame
But anyone one who plays Omaha is an outlaw.

Texas Hold’em is on TV more than Lassie used to be
Online games for fun and real have an addictive pride
Mike The Mouth is always out of his tree
But you ain't seen table chatter like Ironside

Poker rules enforced by software at cyber site
Where a million of fun money will buy you zero
A rookie can become WSOPE PLO  Champ overnight
“Iron, Iron, Iron” they cheered for their hero

Qualifiers hoping in the end to be at the final table
Shuffle Up and Deal, I think it’s better than sex appeal
Unabomber, Jesus, Babydoll and what is your label?
Amarillo (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=463) Slim (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=463), The Professor, all bluff and steal

For most of us involved in a local or casino game
A piece of Ironside has a nice ring
All of us waiting for him the pot to claim
As long as the fecker doesn't sing !!!

Good luck - take it down

Note:

latest blog entry

MONDAY 14th JULY

Parents were getting carpets fitted on the 15th so to get some sleep i decided to stay in Aberdeen overnight and have a drink on the Monday, problem was that hotels kick out at 12pm so i would get to bed around 6am and then kicked out 6 hours later. I wanted to be able to check in around 5 am and then check out at 5pm, first quote was £150, but John Taylor at the International Casinogot me a deal at the Caremalite hotel for half that. I played in the cash game after the comp and was running bad, i got up to £450 quick from my £200 sit down and did the lot when in a hand of double flop PLO when i flopped the nut flush on one board and top set on the 2nd board. Most of the money went in on the turn when i still had nut flush and top 2 sets on the 2nd board, but i was unable to shift the guy sat with the bottom set on the first board and the 2nd nut straight on the 2nd board. Drink in wits out i move all in on rivers when he hits quads on the first board which meant his straight was now nuts on 2nd board.

I then play a stud Hi/Lo hand showing a 5 with A3d in the hole i manage to get it all in before 4th street against the resident stud Hi/Lo expert on his button who had JJ in the hole with a 6 showing who seemed a little upset with only getting half the pot when i was a very marginal favourite (50.5/49.5) to scoop.

Last hand of the night i was down £200 at start of hand we all put in £5 with no blinds the games PLO double flop 7 card. There was about £200 in the pot preflop and i flop 2 monster draws and think long and hard before re raising the pot bet on the flop, cant remember exactly the hands a little too much drink was had by this stage but i had huge draws and redraws and would finish the night £100 up if i scooped and £500 down if i lost. I hit both turns and he re hit both rivers.

Lost £500

WEDNESDAY 16th JULY

With no cash action on the Tuesday i waited till the Wednesday to get some action i had gone deepish in the comp so the game was running and very juicy when i got there. Infact a couple of us were trying to get out of the comp into the action as soon as we could. I got a real rush of cards quick and it looked like i was bullying especially to the strangers to the game. Hans a Norwegian on his first visit to the game called NLHE on his button with most of the regulars not wanting to play i knew it would be short handed unless they woke up with monsters so i raised with 1 limper before me from LP with 2 regulars behind me with A9. Hans couldn't resist trying to out play me so he called as did the limper. The flop brought me 2 pair AK9 rainbow and i bet out £15 Hans made it £50 i called a rag turn i check called his £90 bet and a rag river and check called his £180 bet his full Wilson was no match for my 2 pair. Hans was beginning to become annoying splashing pots, handling pots, string betting trying to bet £50 into £20 pots etc etc etc he started take 5 minutes each play and making the game boring and annoying. I picked up my chips and apologised and left even though a pro would of sat there rubbing there hands thinking of a good night in the office.

30 minutes later everyone left the game and we started a new game without Hans, Gordon from Belfast stayed and took Hans money off him heads up. The 2nd game didn't last long and then broke up for the night. With not many memorable hands played.

Profit £550

FRIDAY 18th JULY

I left the house late and didn't get to the casino till midnight but there was a free seat and i sat down straight away, nothing memorable happened but i kept getting in and beat money was leaking i don't think i tilted but nothing was going right lost a huge stud Hi/Lo pot when i got in with AA JJ via a hidden set of queens. I recorded my biggest every losing session even though it was a short session.

Lost £750

MONDAY 21st JULY

Couldn't get any action on my big hands and didn't get into many pots spent an enjoyable evening passing chips back and forward nothing major either way and finished the night £29 down including drinks food and tips.

Lost £29

WEDNESDAY 23rd JULY

Unbelievable night, first the game didn't start till 12:30am, TheAdmiral and Mr Li were playing the fruit machine waiting for the game, left when the game started and the next person on the machine dropped £1500 from that machine. The players that did start seemed to hit and run with most leaving at 2am up. TheAdmiral and myself were both down slightly me more than him, rather than go home we played HU for 2 hours with some crazy games, 22 PLO8 was called by me more than once much to the annoyance of Stephen who agreed to deal for us. Chips were going in and coming straight back as most games were split. I finished the night down £95.

Lost £95

FRIDAY 25th JULY

I sat down around 10pm with the game already in full flow, i cashed in £600 into chips with the intention of 2 pull ups of £200 and a sit down of £200. I dropped my chips all over the floor and when i got the the table counted only £575 (found the other £25 chip caught in my wheelchair as i got into my car at end of night) i wasn't paying proper attention as i was trying to sort myself out and only put £150 on the table. Flopped he nuts on the first hand and got TheAdmiral to double me up. I returned the chips to him not long after when i made the 2nd nut flush in a game of 4 card PLO and as he is a tricky player than could play with the bare card i called him and he got £100 of the £150 back.

A hand of real note was PLO double flop when i flopped a set of jacks on the top board and had the bare Kh on the 2nd board which was showing 2 hearts one being the Ah. I made Jacks full of 2s on the top board and the heart hit in the bottom board, holding a 2 in my hand i knew i had the nuts on the top board and when Mike bet into me he had nuts on neither, so my £200 pot bet i expected to get through but Mike thought for a minute or so and called with the 2nd nut flush. the rest of the night seemed to be a game of miss and miss more with not hitting any nut hands or major draws.

The hand of the night didn't evolve me apart from my £2 limp preflop, it was a PLO8 hand flop came down 568 rainbow and it all kicked off with 4 players all in before the turn. 2 having 79 and 23 1 having A23 and another a set and 23. and Ace on the river meant that the A23 hand got allot less than he could/should of with the 79 hands getting the lion share.

Lost £120 (thought it was £145 till i found the £25 chip)

expensive lessons being learnt in the cash games but i am still in profit for the last 6 weeks. Hope to get back into the winning ways on Monday.

Iron

Why do you play all these crazy games? Are they more fun than the standard ones? Surely a high stakes international PLO professional such as yourself should stick to the one game.

I'd like to see my £75 investment practicing the game that he's going to trying to make us all rich with if at all possible.

Thanks.

the players were proud of the fact there had never been an omaha hand of any sort won preflop in the cardroom (cash)

well after TheAdmiral raised on the button i saw a great hand and rereaise on the BB i got rereraised and everyone else had folded i saw my chance to never get bothered with the "you cant win an omaaha preflop in this card room its never been done" and i folded what turned out to be the winning hand after a rabbit hunt

they were trying to get petitions up to barr me and everything

i caused a record to be broken last night and the regulars nearly lynched me

Wheels of fire by Cream?

the players were proud of the fact there had never been an omaha hand of any sort won preflop in the cardroom (cash)

well after TheAdmiral raised on the button i saw a great hand and rereaise on the BB i got rereraised and everyone else had folded i saw my chance to never get bothered with the "you cant win an omaaha preflop in this card room its never been done" and i folded what turned out to be the winning hand after a rabbit hunt

they were trying to get petitions up to barr me and everything

the doorman who doesnt understand poker took a 45 minute complaint from george on why i just ruined the card rooms rep

the only 2 people happy was TheAdmiral who picked up $30+ and me

i make the pot at 56.3% now

so much happened in last week since i broke the record that they wanted preserving

with cashes on both the saturday £100 + £100 game after 11 hours play and last nights £20 rebuy when i took down over £1000 without a rebuy or top up

going deep in the comps have kept me away from cash games

blog entry is in ready to be filed but i need to check it reads better than one of my normal forum posts so bear with me

another cash tonight making 4 cashes in 4 games since saturday

though bitterly disapointed not to take my huge stack on final to victory after running into TPTK with a gutshot with QQ

then the nut straight into the nut flush who never bet his ace pre or his nut flush draw on flop or turn and called my river bet when i gutshoted the nut straight on the river

felt i wasted a great chance to take don another nice payday when the cards turned against me or i played badly still trying to work it out but i think it was just the cards turning as i cant think of anyway i could get away from eitehr hand

let me know where to send the money please. I meant to give it to tikay in luton last week but got moved from his table and got sidetracked. transfering it to a bank account is way better than putting it into a stars account as you will have the correct money to buyin then instead of being effected by fluctuations in the dollar rate.

ps i may come in for a bit more or get someone else to do the same if anyone else pulls out. I really want to see you do this bud and I dont want no excuses if a couple drop out.

WSOPE restrictions make updating the event quite impossible for blonde. One, two or possibly four blonde updaters may be providing updates for another site.

i cant do transfers to my stars account as just like with the nun they would object tolots of transfers in for me to just withdraw and i dont have the funds needed to pay for the event without getting the cash

The matter about which Iron wanted to chat with me is as follows.

His local Casino, the International in Aberdeen, ("The Nash"), have offered to fund Iron's not inconsiderable Travel & Hotel expenses for the WSOP-E.

In return, they'd rather like to have a Logo on his Shirt, for "International Casino", & possibly, Hilton Hotels.

At present, Iron will be wearing a blonde shirt, the idea being that the two extra Logos be added to the blonde Shirt.

Iron's concern is that some of those who have staked him might be uncomfortable with this.

So, if anyone is not comfortable with this arrangement, please feel free to withdraw your Staking Offer. No offence will be taken.

Personally, I'm 100% fine with the proposed arrangement, & it won't affect my intention to be one of his stakers.

If anyone has any objections to the proposed Plan, please let Iron or myself know within the next 7 days. You can do so via PM if you so wish.

Iron is extremely touched by the spirit of blonde shown in this thread, & the reason for this Post is that he is really worried some of you may not take kindly to the proposed offer from the International Casino. He is, of course, mad.

Thanks.

PS - This thread will be in Best-of-blonde very soon.

and yes he is totally mad (that's a given)

Might see if he wants a chezger logo on his (ahem)

just like to add guys this thing started as a joke i hadnt costed anything, i didnt expect to get so much support, even when we got up to 20% and 40% i thought it would die a death.

when i looked into the costing of hotels and flights the price was still way more than i could comfortably support from my bankroll without cutting back on something in my life.

with the hotel and flight covered i will be able to pay off the balance of the buy in and the cost off transport and food while i am in london.

in return for this the casino and the hotel that are organising the accoumdation and flight just want a little local press and maybe some poker press if i do well, they are prepared to be gazzuped as long as they get there costs back and a mention in any interviews ect, so if they are gazzuped any money extra (after there costs) would go pro rata to the share holders

i hope you all understand and if anyone wants to pull out then just let me know

as soon as i have spoken to indy i will get details of payment

knowing indy this will be with the next 24 hours

thanks again for your support

I don't care what Ironside wears but the money side needs to be crystal clear.

Some of the money was for expenses which have now been covered, so the sums change a bit I presume?

I know the motivation for most of us was not financial, but to avoid sticky situations later we need total clarity.

Iron imo not many people on blonde could of done this. It has happened because its you. I understand that you didnt expect to get it off the ground but now it is and you have a great oppotunity to play in a great comp.

As a stakeholder I have a couple of expectations of you.

1/ To give the comp 100%

2/ To enjoy yourself and have a good time.

I havent staked you to get a return, a return in this case is a bonus.

As a stakeholder I have no expectation of recieving any share of monies gained other than those direct from the prizepool. If you gain sponsership from this event, entrance in future events or money to wear logos or payment for interviews. This as far as im concerned should all go to you. You are the player.

The more sponsers you get and self-promo you get from this the better.

Maybe Jeeves will be avalible to help out and maybe wear some of the logos.

I agree with the sentiments expressed above.

However, as the initial agreement was to cover expenses, which have now been covered by another source, there will be some 'spare' money in the kitty.

I'm happy to donate any excess to an ex-servicemans charity or whatever but I'm not comfortable with Ironside being in profit on my stake before he starts.

What he does with any other money generated by logos worn or other sources is entirely his business.

In the OP Iron stats the number of shares he wishes to sell and the price per share as he wants to keep a certain % for himself and he has expenses to cover.

He never stats the the shares cover his expenses. So if his expenses are being looked after by another party we should have to expection of rebate for our price paid per share.

happy to go with the flow and don't want to pull out whatever the agreement.

however the reason i want to buy a stake is to have an interest in the event, have a bit of a dream, a bit of excitment, a bit of a long shot gamble. i'm happy to pay the premium and i would also be happy to have an interest if you do get offered any brucey bonuses for getting to the FT or whatever.

if betfair say wear our shirt and we'll put you in the 10K ME then I'd love to have a stake in that. if BF say they'll put you in 10 events then maybe we could just have a stake in the first one or something?

anyway, whatever it's not a big deal. the people who are buying bigger stakes have more of a say than me and I'm happy to go with whatever is decided.

FFS Just because someone else is picking up his expenses, I really don't agree to any rebate on my orignal stake (or reduction of % if he wins, because it was my free choice at the time) this was a "donation" to a top bloke in order that he could play in a tournament that he could not otherwise afford, and if I got a payback -- bonus.

My view, and my opinion - others might have differing views/opinions but don't let it detract from why we staked him in the first place.

i totally accept what wardonkey is saying and is what i questioned with a few close friends before i took up the deal

the thing is without the deal i would be spending around £2000 which i would be unable to do and therefore i would have to pull out

i will be spending over £400 on the compertition and will still need around £500 worth of expenses

the only way i could justify this is keeping costs under £1000

as i said if anyone wants to pull out feel free to let me know

Iron will give more details in the PM, but in effect i have opened a bank account in my name for those who wish to pay via your bank. I have done this on a one time only basis. Any interest earned which I expect to be very little will be given to charity once known. For those who know me, I would hope that most of you would trust me with the monies involved. For those that don't know me, a bit of background info in that
I work for a high street bank
I am financially solvent
My tv shows are on youtube under Indytv  ;whistle;
I would be useless in a fight and too old to run if I tried to scam anyone.  :D
Please ensure that when you do send me a credit that you also send me a pm so i know who has paid it in. I aim subject to time keep a thread going with the money recorded. I will be away in the week up to the Blonde bash, but will be there on the Saturday.

Any questions on this arrangement, please post here.  ;popcorn;

make sure and check you are ok to wear multiple logos. If you need to speak to someone at betfair to confirm this is ok drop me a pm and I will tell you who to contact. I am happy with whatever you do with the money i give you to buy the % and just hope you have a good time. If you are OK'd to wear other logos I may also be interested in paying extra to stick a logo on you as well (non cardroom - would be just nice to give him a few hundred $ to get a big MUG logo on his back loool). Any extra deal you get for playing this should be yours imo- state it clearly in the thread though so there is no mixups (lets just say u did win the thing and get a deal with whoever then I only want 5% of what you cash in this event).

Will be offline all week at the GUKPT but will send you the money str8 away as I get the bank details through.

Iron will give more details in the PM, but in effect i have opened a bank account in my name for those who wish to pay via your bank. I have done this on a one time only basis. Any interest earned which I expect to be very little will be given to charity once known. For those who know me, I would hope that most of you would trust me with the monies involved. in return for this the casino and the hotel that are organising the accoumdation and flight just want a little local press and maybe some poker press if i do well, they are prepared to be gazzuped as long as they get there costs back and a mention in any interviews ect, so if they are gazzuped any money extra (after there costs) would go pro rata to the share holders

If you do well have you got to pay the casino their expenses money back out of the pot?

Seems a bit shitty if they want mentions in interviews and they want paying back as well. I know it's a real help to you but I think they're taking the piss a bit here imo.

No problems with anything just a bit curious about this that's all.

I've not had my PM btw so can't send any cash. Send it quick before I lose what's left of my roll and can't afford it.

Paid mine, but i am with HBOS who are absolutely useless so will prob take about 4 days.

They do my head in spend 10 minutes typing my details in on the phone and talking to some voice recognition software with Ed's details. Get to the end of it and it says we will transfer you to an advisor to complete the transaction who then starts at the beginning again????  ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated;

hi mate

i think i have explained it wrong

the casino doesnt want any money back they will get no money back if i win

though they are happy for someone like "joe blogg poker" to turn round if i make a final and pay me to wear there shirt for that to happen
if that did happen i would like to think i would give them there money back first then split the money pro rata

someone remind me to steer clear of the cash games when i am down there and at the bash

last night i sat down with £200 in the DC game

first hand for me
6 card PLO hi only

flop As 5s 2h

i am sat with Ac 5c Ks 4s 6c 9d

i kinda liked my hand and when i managed to get my oppo nearly all in on flop and all in  the 9h turn i still liked my hand but the pesky Qh on river gave him an 8 high flush

very next hand against the same player

2 card NLHE 2 card single flop (yes i like 3 card texas double flop much better game)

dealt 7s8s

a raise to 7 preflop from player in MP basically everyone calls i call see the flop of

As 6s 5c

MP leads out £15 i call
4h on turn

MP leads out £50 i move in for the £50 plus a little change

sure enough the board pairs

i decided that i needed a break and walked away from the table after 2 hands

Can anyone that has paid money in to the account check this thread to see that the money is registered in your Blonde ID. I had a couple that don't tie up with PM's and looks like the references have dropped off some which is a pain, but hopefully we can work these all out. Current balance is £1987.50.

Unlikely to be a market on the Omaha. There might be one on Betfair closer to the time (seeing as they sponsor it), but there'll be such low liquidity it would be a waste of time.

mate, was thinking about your issue with payment we were talking about yesterday. can you not just order up the 5k from the nearest branch to leicester square? then you only need it to hit your a/c by wednesday when you can collect it and don't need to worry about them having a problem with cheques

Players begin with 10,000 in Tournament Chips. Players may receive an additional 10,000 in tournament chips anytime during the first three levels. Any player that has not taken their add-on by the end of the third level will automatically receive it. All levels will last 60 minutes. Breaks will be every two levels and last 20 minutes. Dinner break on Day 1 will be at the completion of level 4 and last 120 minutes. Dinner breaks on Days 2 and 3 will be determined by the Tournament Director. Play on Day 1 will begin at 3pm on Sept 24 and continue until the completion of level 8. Play will resume at 3pm on Sept 25 and play until 9 players remain. Play will resume at 3pm on Sept 26 and play until a winner is determined

Sounds a great structure...
