...then flees citing diplomatic Immunity.

I wonder what would happen if we sent a diplomat to to America to run over her...

She isn't really a diplomat or the wife of one. I don't see why this lot got diplomatic immunity, but too late for that.
I did read this and thought who has driven abroad and driven on the wrong side or got close to it. It is pretty easy to make a momentary lapse, and she hadn't been here long.
I think justice should have run its course, but she isn't some mass murderer. I'd happily sling the book at drink drivers, hello Dean Saunders, but think this is just horrid all round.
I do think it is better for her to face "justice" for this, because running away has made her look a whole lot worse. Presubably she wasn't intending to flee, as she didn't hit and run. I think she was badly advised, as it is going to be a long time before people forget what a "scumbag" she is. Guess it is going to be a long time, before the guilt of killing someone in an accident disappears.
I don't see any winners here.

This episode just reconfirms that there is no longer a special relationship, and it’s unlikely to change for as long as Trump is in charge. Tbh it’s been a one-way street in so far as extraditions are concerned, as is unlikely to become special again even in a new administration.
From memory, there was the Natwest three and the young hacker plus others...

It's the fact that they flew her on a private plane and now state they will never issue
a waiver that really grates.
Every decent human being knows that is the wrong course of action.
It's not complicated , it's not difficult , just do the right thing.
But the USA and Trump in particular are so pompous and arrogant they only
do what is best for themselves.
Taking all the circumstances into account she may well have got away with a
suspended sentence and felt better about herself instead of running away.

The circumstances - an American in England, driving on the wrong side of the road, mean she'd be very unlikely to go to Prison, so yes, she should face the music & get it done with, if only to give the parents of the lad some closure.

Trump, answering questions, says "it was a terrible accident, we will speak to her shortly & see if we can do something".
Meanwhile, in his pocket, & spotted by journos, were these briefing clearly saying she would NOT return.

What a lying piece of shite he is.

But in fairness wouldn't you want to be told in person by someone closer to home rather than seeing on a press conference from POTUS ? as the notes say they told Raab but he hadnt made a statement before this.
