The last time I cried through pain was when I was 16 and had nerve dying in a molar because an abscess was under my tooth that I didn't know about for a while. Weirdly, the pain got abruptly worse when I tried to go to sleep so a tip of advice is to not lie down as your blood pressure increases when you do so thus increasing the pain.

Abscesses must rank pretty high in the worst pain possible stakes. I had one a few years back and using whisky as an hourly mouthwash helped. That plus the morphine my friendly GP prescribed - very quickly saw the attraction of Class A drugs that week.

abcess's are the nut worst. Just as you think the pain is gone, a week later BANG, had to get my mate to punch me square in the jaw once it was that bad

Ahhh yes, the memories are coming back now. My mum had special horse anesthetic in the house and I thought about using it. I felt like Tom Hanks in Cast away.
