Ian Cox has knocked out Alan Davies.

Ian raised to 11.5k preflop (2k/4k/300), Alan re-raised to 31.5k and Ian called.

Flop:

Alan moves in and Ian calls quickly.

Alan:

Ian:

Turn:

River:

Cox overtakes Hooper as the chip leader.

Julian Thew has been crippled after he raised a Q-8-6 flop trying to take the pot away from Chaz Chattha, only to find Chattha sitting comfortably with a set of sixes. Chattha doubled through and Thewy is down to 20k.

Derek Pennington pushes his shortish stack in preflop, BRENDA (It is brenda apparently) Gibson makes the call.

The cards go on their back and Derek falls backwards in horror, almost knocking his drink flying into me. Fortunately my cat-lilke reactions saved me...I digress, back to the hand...

Derek shows AQ and Brenda AK, hence Derek's reaction.

The Two Clubs flop doesn't help him and he is OUT. Plus I am still dry. Ship...

Sunny Chattha calls the all-in limp-re-raise of small blind of Richard Frost.

Frost:

Chattha:

Board:

Sunny is crippled and has to push next hand for his last 19.3k. Ian Cox in the big blind calls without looking at his cards.

Sunny shows:

three clubs

Ian flips:

three diamonds(!)

Board:

Chattha is still alive.

12 left....

I speak to Julian who is pensive as he fiddles with his shortish stack.

"One set of blinds and I'll pretty much double up!" he tells me, with only a slight hint of exaggeration.

Next hand, as if to prove a point Julian pushes his stack over the line..."Not much to call" he tells Terry Page who is contemplating a call, but ultimately passes..., leaving Julian to sweep up the chips as per THIS pretty picture...

Then Thewy finds himself allin! Terry raises to 30k from the button and Julian pushes from the sb for 10 or so K more. Terry makes what is an automatic call and shows A4, dominated by Julian's pocket Jacks.

The flop doesn't bring an ace, two fours, any straight or flush combinations and Julian has doubled up and is getting himself back into contention here...

A picture will follow shortly....

....In the next hand or two, Terry Page limps from the small blind and Chris Hooper raises. Terry reraises allin which Chris calls.

Terry : Q Q
Chris : 6 6

a Two Diamonds flop doesn't change anything and Terry doubles through to 140k...

Here is Julian, whose head has been chopped off slightly, but it is worth showing just for Julian's comical "happy-to-have-won-the-pot" face.

Sunny Chattha is out in 11th...

Richard Frost raised to 18k and sunny pushed for a few K more.

Richard's AT was only momentarily threatened by a 2 4 T J T flop, but ultimately, once the dust settled, was good, consigning Sunny to the rail and bringing us to "the final table button."

Come on Julian time to YOYO back up again

Terry Page limps for 6k, Thewy calls in the small blind. Big blind checks.

Flop:

All three check.

Turn:

Check check, Terry bets 12k. Julian check/raises to 27k, the big blind passes. Terry moves all-in, Julian calls.

Terry shows:

for top two

Thewy shows:

for the turned set.

River:

Repeated cries of "I checked him into a set..." in a strong scouse accent are heard.

A chilly one for Richard Frost as his button raise with tens was met by a push over the top for Scott O'Reilly with K-5. A king on the turn and 200k his way.

Jane Macnamara is OUT in 16th place, with A-9o. Alan Mower had Queens.

We're in the money.

I guess she has to be referred to as the "bubble girl".
