46  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Golden Chip Satellite - AA on Bubble on: June 30, 2014, 09:18:52 PM
Firstly I am not very good at Satellites so sorry if this is not even a sensible question :-)

OK simple enough question, is it correct to fold AA preflop here given the action before me. The table has been playing tight and not putting it in light very often. I therefore think they are likely to have decent hands like 2 broadway, Pair or Ax. fwiw I won the hand but then thought I probably should have folded, is this correct? I am about 70% to win the hand against their range I think. Is this enough to go for it in this spot?

47  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Probably a very easy question on: June 29, 2014, 09:18:52 AM
Hi Guy's

Was wondering if people could have a look at this hand for me, obviously it is played badly, kinda leveled myself during the hand, but what should my thinking be during this hand. I think I should probably be folding the turn but I have a few questions I was hoping some people can help with, the player is a pretty standard $25nl Zoom player 20/18 (55 hands) only seen him 3 bet once and he folded too it:-

1) Is my PFR too small? Maybe $2 would be better - pretty sure it would be?

2) Is the cbet sizing good?

3) What is the right play on the flop when I get raised on this kind of board (I was thinking he can have TT, JJ or maybe QQ here as well as sets)

4) Related to 3 what range should I give him and what should my plan on later streets be?

5) If we were just playing 100BB deep would it be correct to just get it in on the flop in this game?

+1 to Kilmainham Gaol and the open top bus ride

I actually quite like Temple Bar, but drinking anywhere in Dublin is automatically good basically, if you can find a pub with an Irish band playing so much the better.

Welsh amateur championships in Bristol? Has Bristol moved? 😀
Well we were going to declare it part of Wales anyway, but then decided it did not merit such an honour  Grin

It does have casinos capable of holding the event, and happy to do so, though which Wales doesn't unfortunately.

APAT Belgium will be one hell of a weekend too. Looking forward to that one.

I presume apat Belgium is in Amsterdam? 😀😀

Looking forward to te Luton one.
Belgium is in Namur (wherever that might be - somewhere in Belgium I hope).

Luton one is always good imo but is the same month as the one in Belgium, they are only two weeks apart but sill hoping to get to both (work permitting)

I think top 3 finish was the most people hoped for at start of season current postion is not job half done its a bonus and worth celebrating after all fred backed liverpool to be relegated at beginning of season
No mate, the top 3 was confirmed ages ago. If Liverpool finish second now it will not be a bonus worth celebrating it will be a massive let down for them. However the job might well me more than half done now. I don't want to believe it but at this stage we kind of have too.

If Liverpool don't win the league this year, even though I am starting to think they will, do you expect to see Liverpool bounce back and win it next season or will next season be very hard for them. I remember back in 2009 when they came second and looked for a while like they were going to win it. There are a lot of similarities I can see between this season and that. Is this team better and will they be able to keep up the challenge and maybe start a new period of dominance?
55  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / QQ in a 3 way pot which has been cold 4-bet on: March 29, 2014, 01:24:04 PM
Hi Just want to check my thinking in this hand is correct or if I have misplayed it. I think it is OK but not entirely sure so thought I would post it. No real info on MP other than he has raised 4 of the 10 hands I have seen him play. I think it is fine to 3-bet QQ here as I think he calls with worse quite a lot and I am going to have post flop position. The small blind then cold 4-bets which is awkward. I know he can be light here and does not have to have a premium. Should I bet 5-betting here? QQ does not feel like the right hand to be 5-betting with in this spot so I just call. MP then calls as well.

I was going to give up on the flop as AK got there and is in both if their ranges but when it checked around I thought I often had the best hand and the turn being another King is a good card for my hand. Calling the smaller bet seems logical right? The river made me a full house and when it checked to me shoving seemed like the right play.

I am pretty sure I don't play this hand exactly right, although I doubt it is awful what mistakes am I making here? Hand details are below.

Pretty sure if it was held at the right time, and I mean when there would be no major clashes it would do quite well. Players have been wanting a decent PLO tournament for a while
57  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: TT close to bubble in the dark on: March 22, 2014, 11:16:34 PM
Doesn't it really depend on his opening range do we have any info at all? Assuming not, if he is an unknown then from UTG I would say something like 88+, AJ+ and KQ is probably about fair and if he calls the 3bet with say JJ+ and AK then it is going to be profitable for us to shove is it not (we do have a flat caller but we are strong against his likely range and this only makes it more profitable)?

It might not be the most profitable line, but I would certainly not mind the shove. Call might be better, certainly would be if we had position, playing the rest of the hand OOP is a concern to me though. I think folding is probably not the right play here personally.
58  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: What would you do? on: March 14, 2014, 12:45:38 PM
I assume antes are not in play?

Was thinking the same as above. I think live we can often get away with making it 4K and getting a couple of callers. 3k is probably a better amount though. I think ideally we only want 1 or 2 callers as even though it is technically more profitable to get them all call. If we make it 3K and get 2 callers then we have a good chance of being able to profitable bet lot's of flops and shove lot's of turns getting called by worse. If we raise and UTG shoves then we obviously just shove over the top of any callers.

Are we anywhere near the bubble? Doubt it matter's too much though at this stage.

We played 5x$4.50 180s tonight to see if they are worth adding in whilst grinding as Neil suggested. I was gonna load more but Joobs came back from the gym and has aggravated her ankle (she badly sprained it on Monday and it is now black and blue) so didn't feel comfortable playing too much when I could have had to drop everything to help her with something.

As is typical, I ended up one-tabling for hours only to bust KK < JJ with 17 left!

Loss today: $15.49
Current bankroll: $1,219.20
Well done so far mate

As long as you have the time to play them as they take at least 4 hours I don't see why you would not have the $4.50 games in there they are really good value, much better than the turbo games. I would suggest using them to keep the number of tables up if you are just playing smallish MTT sessions?

Ha - I go to Genting Sheffield, but a PLO game only gets started on a very rare occasion.

I got it in with the bare nuts on a 5-6-7 board a few weeks ago, with no re-draw and chopped it, didn't have any idea about re-draws, just knew I had the nuts, so bad Cheesy
I guess it depends how deep you are but in most games getting it in with the nuts can't be that bad can it? Especially live or in 100BB deep online PLO games?
