cant believe nobodys mentioned a fkin chip butty yet!
This is true.
Chip shop chips in sandwiches with a 'significant' layer of butter spread on, has to be in the top 3 sandwiches.

When I'm not trying to eat healthy-
Bacon, Egg, Suasage and Tomato.
Construction-
1. Toasted white bread on bottom.
2. Bacon and Egg next with dash HP.
3. Fried slice.
4. Sausage and Tomato with dash HP
5. Toasted white bread on top.
Cholestrol Heaven.
When I'm trying to eat healthyish-
Roast beef with Philadelphia cheese
Construction-
1. Granary bread on bottom with butter and 2mm spread of Philly cheese.
2. Underdone slice roast beef with light layer of english mustard next.
3. Generous helping of Watercress.
4. Granary bread on top with butter and 2mm spread of Philly cheese.
Mouthwatering..

Of course if you follow the detailed build to the letter you get 2 slices of bread at the bottom and watercress falling off the top with nothing to hold it down.

from my meat eating days the absolutel winner was always roast beef and onion warmed baguette with horseradish, mmm.
nowadays it's smoked cheese with a small amount of whole grain mustard, some chopped shallot and caramelised red onion chutney, lovely.
