Is greatest poker site in the world there yet.   Have a feeling he is just waiting for me to show up ready to pounce.   Those people who complain about the phone charger sellers don't know how lucky they are.

I am guessing he hasmoved on to "This is the greatest crypto exchange in the World..."

You may well wonder who the hell he is, & quite right too.

He's a Chess Grand Master, & a pro chess player by trade/profession apparently.

So what, you repeat.

Well scroll halfway down this page & look who his very first game was against, a blonde, no less.

http://www.chessgames.com/player/renier_gonzalez.html

I reckon he started with the Sicilian, the old e4 c5.

Tal died in the November that year. He played that game very nicely, though Golzalez blundered at the end.

Bet he'll never forget that game. Playing a world champion (albeit 32 years after) is something pretty cool. Did he mention it?

Evening stakers.

Have decided to play a little $125 fun event at The Orleans tonight.

It's 25% reg fee, Turbo, and Limit, so not exactly up my street or good value.

Therefore it will NOT be charged to the stake.

A fun limit tourney- oxymoron right there

limit O8 > limit hold em (and possibly NL hold em).

I'd say O8 mix (which includes limit) is at least as much fun as PLO8.

GL, The Orleans is the only place I've ever cashed in Vegas!

The problem (problem?) with these long days at the poker tables is I get mentally tired with a sort of adrenalin hangover the next morning which leaves me feeling sort of flat, so I'm struggling to keep up with reports & stuff. I have stuff to do Next Door, too.

I never gave any deets on that disastrous Day 2 at Venetian.

It was one of those sessions where every decision was marginal, and, as it turned out, & how the cards fell, I made the wrong decision every time.

The exit one certainly pinched a bit. With all those limpers I was pretty sure there were no aces left in the deck, & my K-K-3-4 would not get Aced, & I had the low as a possible back up if one did fall.

The flop & turn were just the job, no low (he had A-2 for low) and I thought I was home & hosed when a high card rivered, momentarily not realising he had pinged his gutterball.

So that was that, a thorough anti-climax.

I was all hyped up with nowhere to go. I decided to pop across to Barnes & Noble bookshop on West Charlston - perusing the shelves in book shops is wonderfully calming - then went & played Big O cash.

Playing cash after a painful MTT exit was probably not wise, but poker is full of surprises, & I had my best night ever at Big O cash, the cards just kept falling nicely for me all evening.

Funny old game.

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed last night's $125 (off Stake) Limit O8.

It was a bit dull early doors, as I don't really appreciate the nuances of Limit MTT's, but once we got to the sharp end it was tremendous fun.

The Orleans was rammed, & the Limit O8 got 147 runners, with 17 paid.

We were down to 21 runners, & we were at 4,000-8,000 & I'm playing 120,000 & I dusted the entire stack off in one hand.

2 limpers, it's my BB, & I'm holding the PLO-tastic 10-J-Q-K, & we saw a flop of 7-8-9 (no suits), so I have the nuts & extensions all the way up.

Long story short, the board paired on the river & 8-8 lady got there.

No complaints, it played itself. Shame it went on so late though, as I'm a bit low on fuel this morning.

Are you saying we don't have a piece of the cash winnings?

Scandalous!

Obviously fine with not having a piece of the cash losses.

So, today it's the $1,000 WSOP PLO, which starts at 11an local (7pm UK), which is in just over an hour.

Am down the Media Centre, so once I've posted the entry ticket, I'll toddle back to the room, freshen up with a shower, & toddle all the way back.

It's all go you know.

Been chatting with Gill this morning too. She's accepted the gig with Bet365, so that's settled her mind, & she arrives here Saturday. All good, can't wait.
