I still have no idea what any of that's about. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Portmanteau

Mortpanteau

Thank you.

Where does the spork come in?

Not sure if serious...

Spork is a portmanteau of spoon and fork.

The Mortpanteau would be Foon

Lol. yes, I was serious.

I didn't know what a portmanteau was, and when someone posted a picture of a port, I assumed that was portmanteau.

There are gaping holes in my education.

Not sure if you're pulling my pisser re mortpanteau.

It's the reverse of a portmanteau. More a bit of fun than of any use.

I never knew there were two meanings for portmanteau.

I've always thought of it as a big travel bag.

This doesn't piss me off by the way I'm just joining in the convo.......

I still don't believe that either CF or BobbleHat have ever used a spork, but I agree, they are a crap idea.

These are much more practical.

When an emergency vehicle is coming in the opposite direction with no other traffic on that side of the road, yet people on my side of the road feel the need to slow right down and move into the hard shoulder. He's not driving a tank or piloting a plane, just keep moving people.

(obviously it's also ridiculous when people completely fail to move over for emergency vehicles when there is the genuine need to do so)

- People who think it's okay to recline their seats on European flights

- People who think it's okay to hang on the back of your seat when they are getting in or out of their seat behind

- People who stand in the aisle during boarding to get their stuff into the overhead locker and block others from getting past (actually I don't know why airlines don't make an announcement about this on each flight)

I might have posted some of these before, but been flying a bit recently and it's all come back to the surface.

2nd one very fking annoying, particularly when they pull your seat back as much as possible then let go. Anyone who does that tends to get the first one from me now

Funeral plan adverts.

Charity adverts.

Have you had an accident at work? adverts.

PPI adverts. Jesus Christ, enough already with the PPI adverts.

In the same vein, the advert I keep hearing from the government telling me if I lose over £80 grand due to a bank closure I can claim it back.

Pretty sure anyone that has accumulated £80k cash will be fully aware, or would otherwise be some strange hermit type and therefore not listening or watching said advert, no doubt paid for with our taxes.

Inland revenue online self assessment process.

I don't mind paying the tax but just wish it was less painful to do so.

?

Given just how batshit crazy complex the tax code is I think the online form does a pretty good job of making it simple enough to follow if you have fairly straightforward affairs.

Your right, it is just at the time of doing it, it seems particularly stressful.
