Are you hiding your beard under that scarf?
Hacked it off yesterday Ralph, but when I arrived at my Hotel today I realised I'd missed a bit & I have sort of whiskers on my neck, so the scarf is camouflage.

Tikay- I cant really think of anyone but you to ask this one......
My mum has always wanted to do a train journey through Scottish Hills or something similar and im looking to sort for a 40th wedding anniversary , just wondering if you've done anything similar and the best place to start, would like a old style chuff chuff if possible and a good amount of time on-board, price wise happy for £800 ish for two people as leaves money in the pot for hotel.
ty for any info in advance
...some lovely, no doubt pricey, little chuff chuffs here....

I wish I could afford / justify one of these trips but a bit pricey (maybe for their 50th wedding anniversary). Some of the others TK sent over look good, budget upped to £1500 for the pair !

I was muchly surprised - pleasingly surprised - by how many of you took a moment to congratulate me on the renewed contract.
I congratulated Sky

Congratulations on the new contract from Darren & myself and plus 1 on the Vegas stake please!
I'm so please for you and even more pleased for them, they are lucky to have you!
Some things come up on my calendar now and then, like APAT events and even further back the diary I started here which lasted about two posts from memory. It seemed a good idea at the time to cleanse my soul and a was way of keeping track of the things I'd done and a few humorous stories I had, but I felt exposed and wimped out before I got going. I then read a few of the great diaries on hear and realised my entertaining stories were ever so boring!
I'm so glad Manchester went well and I hope you and Mr Ambo got my love passed on via Darkangel. I had a weeks work last week which went on to the early hours of Monday morning and only caught up with the updates today. Remember Newcastle? I still have my blonde wig, maroon sweater, man-bag etc etc..

That really is an extraordinary photo, Rich, & in so many ways.
The contrast between rugged nature & the arrow straight road & ribbon of cars is striking.
Even more striking is that the road is straight, dead straight. I never even realised there was a yard of A82 in that area which was straight.
The Pass of Glencoe (also the A82) is easily my favourite piece of road in the world, it's breathtaking.
