Another dwindled stack gets a breath of life as Paul Traynor gets his  all in against Alan Mclean's  .  The board came  two hearts and he stayed in the lead, getting about 40k.

19 players left after the sudden demise of Dave Colclough, who having come back as quite definitely the shortest stack, outlasted a whole table in a chip collecting rush.  Now he's off to take some money off some students (or vice versa)...

Mark Walden just called a preflop raise from Womble.

They checked right to the end.

Surprised not to see a bet on the river by Walden. Perhaps trying to trap the Womble.

Mickey Wernick just wandered over here muttering "did you see that?"  - and since I just saw him shake Anthony Nicholl's hand I feared the worst... but what had actually happened was a big re-raise (all-in) from Anthony, whereupon Mickey showed his  and passed, and was shown the  As.

Or the flush worried him a bit

Here's Howard Plant and neighbour Andy Gomm. The Magician is holding on to his 15k or so, while Andy has a more comfortable 50,000.

Dave Clark is playing an agressive game.

Flop =

Barney bets 4k.

Clark moves all-in.

Barney folds.

Clark's chips are in and out more than the hokey cokey.

And Michael Ellis is the 3-table bubble, if there is such a thing, exiting 19th and necessitating a little move-around break.  He had been another of those short stacks which eventually moved and lost, although I missed his actual exit hand.  There are still nine players left before the money, and now is when I reckon the whole thing might progress a little like running through treacle.

And here was recent exiter Michael Ellis a little earlier, with his eyes shut next to demonic-looking Luke Patten.

Howard Plant moves in with A7, dying for a double-up.

He finds action in Dave Clark's A6.

Unfortunately for Plant, the board comes J-8-Q-K-A resulting in a split pot.

Plant will have to wait a bit longer for the double-up.
