Plenty of champ clubs changed players even League One sides changed players
I am led to believe a lot of managers get put under pressure to start reserves/squad players in cup games from the agents.
Even so money talks and end of day a cup loss means less pressure on a manager than a league one will.
Agreed but I don’t see why it needs to be either/or. If you are not in Europe and get knocked out of League Cup early I just don’t understand why teams don’t play close to first team in FA Cup (give 2/3 fringe players a run out sure but 11 changes?). If you are in Europe then I understand.

Emery got slagged off by a surprising number of admitedly fickle Arsenal fans for playing too strong a team and not resting enough players despite a decent 3-0 win.
I think it's just a horrible dilemma for managers - damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Yeah if you're in that cluster of teams between sort of 7th and 12th, that ain't gonna go down nor unlikely to get into Europe, then I see no reason to make a load of changes. Understandable to maybe rest 1 or 2 who have played plenty of minutes, but might as well give the FA Cup a decent crack of the whip and see what happens.
Coming 9th in the league is unlikely to live long in the memory, but winning the FA Cup certainly does.
Teams in Europe and teams fighting the drop/chasing promotion to Prem tend to have bigger fish to fry so fair enough if they ring the changes.

Expecting Saints to struggle tomorrow.
Only one recognised striker available and that is Shane Long ( 27 goals in 167 games for Saints). Austin suspended, Ings injured, Obafemi injured, Gabbi left.
Yoshida has gone off to the Asia cup after a couple of excellent recent performances. Jack Stephens will replace him but he is a step down in quality. Hojberg, Hasenhuttls fav player, is suspended and Bertrand + Lemina are not ready.
It was a really flat performance against Derby and the injuries/suspensions have stacked up at the wrong time. A good Leicester side should have too much really, even money looks good to me.

Puel big fav to be next manager to get the boot now.
I thought Leicester were very poor today, albeit against a now very well drilled organised team.

Disgraceful dive from Vardy. The waving of the leg trying to make vague contact with a distant defender was embarrassing.

That the end of Puel?
You can’t blame Puel for shambolic defending by “professional” experienced defenders! My main complaint with his team selection is why are we playing a defensive midfield against a bottom three club at home and then an attacking midfield away to a semi decent team? Also surprised like many that Choudrey was left out

Also is Choudary not suffering from fatigue? Looked knackered in that cup game.
