There isn't too much other information really. I believe it was simply a case of the two being in too much pain from their accidents/incidents and unfortunately had to be put to sleep. Tuna Crunch's tumble was horrific to watch, must have rolled half a dozen times. She was a tiny bitch, only 23kgs and noticeably the smallest greyhound in all her races - think everything else in last night's race was over 30kgs.
Not a great night.

A bit of positive news and fantastic for racing is that Towcester open their Greyhound Track on Saturday night for the first nights racing. It's a 8 dog racing track and is in the middle of the Horse racing course. Mark Wallis the champion trainer has moved there from Yarmouth and they have been given a BAGS contract from the off. Hopefully it will be very successful considering a track is more likely to close than open nowadays. Although I cant make the opening night I'll certainly get down there. Could be a place for a TFT meet up, especially if they do a horse race meet and Dog meet on the same day.

And in other good news, Alis Avenger is going to win the last at Romford tonight @ 3/1. Will hold the rails from T1 and has the pace to go around in front and only recently was mixing it in decent opens, this is an A1. I don't think the dog in 2 will pace up as well as Alis and getting the rail solo will be all important. Was beaten by T6 Jaytee Thunder recently but he'll not have it all his way early due to an early paced wide sort in 5. AA to skip clear and something like 24:40s would likely be enough. Worth a small bet.

Where is Towcester? My geography isn't great.
Just off the A43 in Northamptonshire, sort of between the M1 & M40. Really nice bit of road, actually, dualled all the way, though with conventional crash barriers. Bernie Ecclestone arranged to get it built. No, he did. It's about 8 miles from Silverstone.
Easy to get to if you live in the Midlands or South East really, but not exactly a thriving urban conurbation, so not sure how many punters will show up.

Was in the betting shop the other day, and there was a BAGS meeting at Swindon.
This race caught my eye:

Anyone know the backstory of the naming of the winner?
Must be something to do with our beloved TD at DTD surely?

Looks like an inside bias at Hove tonight. Like the 11/10 on Droopy's ODell in the 9:24. Prob be odds on race time.

Of course t6 wins, Odell went off odds on as expected. Get it all back on who needs pace (hopefully)

Again returned at 4/5f and came 2nd. Sorry if you followed me in. Got the value (both returned 4/5f but not the wins, both came second,) of course if we could take 7/4 and 11/10 about 4/5 shots we would do them all day long.

Scotty, any thoughts on Steves Dream tonight, 9/4 in the last at Romford? Will Viking Jack get the better of George, 2/1?

Don't think they are doing horse race and dog meets on same day at mo due to logistics.
Think something about dogs barking upsetting horses potentially too.
Anyway def up for going myself, tft meet up there sounds great.
