From the recent Luton reports, my understanding is that players have done deals but it hasn't been authorised by the tournament runners.

Does this mean that they are forced to play to the end?

Do they have to be given the prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc and then take the other players' word that they they will keep their end of the bargain?

Finally, is this just in the Grosvenor or does it apply in other casinos?

That sounds about right.

All competitions run by Grosvenor have to be played to a conclusion.

The advertised prize structure will be adhered to. So yes you will have to take other players' word for it.

As far as I am aware Grosvenor is the only casino group enforcing this policy.

Thanks Yogi.

Nobody on earth can prevent "deals" being done. But Grosvenor will ONLY pay out the official prizes, based on the prize structure. Taking yesterday at Luton as an example, the last three guys did business, but Grosvenor paid out the correct published prize structure, & it was up to the guys to sort it out amongst themselves.

It's the same with the published results from Grosvenor - they reflect the "official" prize structure, & not any business that may have been done.

And don't forget - if you do a deal in a Ranking Tournanment, the points will be frozen at that point. So if the last 3 guys do business, then all of them get points for third place ONLY. This caught one or two guys by surprise last week, but that's the way it is.
