Fists are flying already, Mad Turk jumping up to 25k off Julian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=225) Thew (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=225) who is left to shake his clenched fist behind the dealer at his Turkish, and rather mad foe.

Turk = Kc 9c
Thew = 7c 7s

Board = Qd Qc 2c 8c 6h

Turk up to the 25k mark.

Mad Turk has arrived today with the bit between his teeth and got invlolved when the small blind made up to his big blind.  Turk responds by going all in with  Ks  3c for 10k (doing half his early double up stack previously).  Glynn Rees calls him with  Kc  Tc  there was no pleasant surprises for Turk on the board and he takes an early bath.

He did come over to me and Snoopy though to raise a point that had severly bugged him.  As he moved in, a guy to his right not in the hand made a comment to the likes of Mad Turk =  Robin Hood.  We sympathised and agreed since the chap was not in the pot he should not have commented during the hand.  A little out of order but Turk can also give as good as he gets...

On Julian's table, Jamie Morris raised it up for the third time running but found E Jahanpour with  Th Ts.  He pushed his 26k whilst Jamie was mentally rubbing his hands with glee as he called and flipped over  Ac  Ahrt - dont you just love it when a lucky plan comes together?

E Jahanpour OUT in 25th place

The pace has been steady eddie so far today with few departures, but one who has recently exited stage left is M McGill, his current grimace from the rail reflective of his soul-destroying elimination. I'm not sure if the spondoolies went in pre- or post-flop, but the assassin was definitely the chatty Michael 'Valentino' Artemis, whose Q-Js had flopped two pair against McGill's Pocket Kings on a J-Q-5 Flop. A Ten Turn and Four River made little difference, leaving to Mcgill dazed and confused and ruing ever receiving those ruddy Cowboys in the first place.

Julian really is truly blessed  - This hand developed, M Khan (pictured) raised to 4k under the gun.  Julian to answer next, reraises to 20k.  It passes back round M Kahn who does indeed put in the lot and its only another 6k to Julie.  On their backs as Julians jaw hits the felt:

M Kahn

Julian

A queen on the flop also ships the big pile of chips over to Julian Thewy - Golden - YoYo - Lukbox - Thew and Khan does the walk of shame.  That leaves us with 22 players.

---------------

Neil Blatchey is packing his gear and heading back to Nottingham where he is a regular at the Gala cash games. The hand itself was a pretty simple affair, Neil re-raising Ram Lakha's all-in from the big blind with A-9 after Ram had raised from the button. Ram called quicker than a Benny Hill chase on forward wind and survived a 3-T-J-6-J with considerable ease.

Just as we head into the break, Richard Simmonds is treated to a double-up, Ash Hussain betting all-in with Qs Jh on a 8h Kc Ts board, Simmonds calling with Kd Jc.

After Julian had folded his Pocket Deuces (a call for Yoyo, surely?), the dealer dealt out the remaining two cards, a Qh Turn and Jd River causing momentary confusion before everyone realised Richard had survived with two pair versus an inferior two pair.

Simmonds now on around 45k.

Just as the players are reshuffling to 2 tables, we lose another one. It was a no croak for Troake, instead his neighbour Jamie Morris scuttling off into the distance.

Raising pre-flop to 3.5k under the gun, Jamie Morris flat called Troake's 13.5k re-raise immediately behind him before pushing in on a 3h Qd Ahrt Flop. Troake instacalled and it was on their backs time, Morris in boiling hot water with Ad Ks versus Qc Qc.

The 6s Turn and 7h River didn't bring any miracles.

Wicked hand for Matt Tyler just went off.  Tony Fellone raised it up with AJ, A Stearne calls with AK and Matt Tyler also calls with 99.  The flop comes:

 9s  Jh  Qc

and fireworks, Tony moves all in but is short and is followed by an all from Stearne and his AK and a call from Tyler.  No surprises or help and Matt pulls in a great pot and is looking pretty with 100k.

Tony Fellone OUT
A Stearne OUT

"Julian in race win shocker," exclaims a jealous Rob Sherwood.

And the victim? Mr Des Jonas, his dulcet tones finally leaving us as he heads towards the bar to down the Red Bull he ordered just moments ago.

All-in from the big blind over the top of Julian Thew's pre-flop button raise, Des seemed more interested in replacing the drink that had just been accidentally smashed, and splashed, over poor Mr Reardon's back (that'll teach him for being an inverted chair sitter!).

Meanwhile, Julian, who isn't a fan of the fold at the best of times, mulls it over with Pocket Sixes to fathom if he's racing or not. As he dwells, Des comments, "So, you've got an Ace as well?"

"I haven't got an Ace," replied Julian.

"Oh," hesitates Des, "Well, how small?"

"Do you want a call?" asks Julian.

"I need a double up, course I want a call," replies Des pointing to the extra 23.8k it will cost Julian to continue with the hand.

At this point, Julian decides that he is indeed racing, and calls with Pocket Sixes, which ultimately hold up on a raggy non Big Slick hitting board.

As Des departs, Ash Hussain adds, "He made it pretty easy for you, basically told you his hand. And so did you, it's all very friendly this."

Another exit this time at the hands of Adam Wilkinson.  Not sure of the preflop action but there was a raise and a call and both players see a flop looking exactly like:

 6c  2d  2h

Adam bets out 10k and Richard Simmonds goes all in for a total of 18, 800.  Adam took a while to think but call he did and turned over  7s  7h.  Richard showed  Aspades  6s and with a  3d turn and a  7c river Adam's call was a gud un, although the poor Richard had to be called back because he had 800 chips left, Adam finished off business the very next hand and Simmonds finishes in 15th place.

Bad news for Rob Sherwood fans, his forest of chips sinking to less than 10k after an inevitable all-in affair with Stuart Rutter. The condom-hat-wearing Rutter raised from mid position with Kd Kh, and would have been delighted to see Rob stumble upon Jh Jc in the big  blind. A rather clinical 4d Qs 6s 3d Ks later and it was all over, Rob's stack crushed whilst Rutter enjoys a most welcome double through.

Rob Sherwood, who's boredom is forcing him to play with the utmost discipline, later added to his yoyo neighbour, "That's the best hand I've seen all day."

Adam (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=11) Wilkinson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=11) just pulled off a marvelous steal on the normally very astute Ash (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) Hussain (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38), the Monte Carlo runner upper raising pre-flop and being called in the blind by Adam.

A Jh 5h 4h Flop saw Wilkinson's bet of 8k smooth called by Ash before the Midlander popped out 12k on the 9d Turn. Again, Ash called.

With approximately 45k left, Adam then fired one more bullet, this time 17k on the 5c River.

Ash mulled and mulled. Meanwhile, Adam went through an array of postures, from counting out his chips to staring his opponent down to quietly resting his chin on his hand.

"Will you show if I fold?"

Adam nodded, and on that note, Ash mucked his cards.

Adam showed Qd Td.

Being the pro that he is, the ever-consistent Ash Hussain is fighting back after being shown up by Adam Wilkinson earlier, making a standard pre-flop raise before flat-calling Julian's 15k extra re-raise from the big blind.

Both players then proceeded to cagily check down the Ad 6s 9s 9c 8h board before Ash bet circa 20k on the river, a sum that was reluctantly called by Julian, even more so when Ash turned over Pocket Eights.

"I reckon he had Queens," mused Rutter.

At table Thew, Julian makes a 9k raise preflop and his neighbour Rob (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=382) Sherwood (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=382) goes all in for an extra 25k.  Julian DID dwell, but makes the half reluctant call with  Kh Qd.  Rob shows  Js Jd for a race and the poker gods dealt out a cruel board of :

 Ahrt  Th  3h  5h  8h and Julians King high flush is good for the pot.

Rob out in 12th for £1,000

Its blind on blind action with Adam Wilkinson & Julian Thew.  Adam makes it another 8k from the small blind and Julian calls.  The flop comes:

 Kc  2s  3c

Adam immediately moves all in for a big 55,500 and Julian has to go in the think tank again, alot of decisions today for the Thewster!! But again he makes the call and their holdings are:

Adam   Aspades  5c
Julian    Ks  Th

Turn  Jh
River  3d

So thats it, Julian gets back a big chunk of what he lost to Hussain, Adam Wilkinson gets knocked out in 11th place for £1,000 and we have a Final to begin soon with Pics & Counts to follow.

Humungous Julian / Rutter encounter.  Action is a 12k from Stuart (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=421) Rutter (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=421), reraised a further 35k from Julian.  Rutter pushes all in to make it another 55k to Thew.  Again Julian has a tough decision, but also knows Stuarts capabilities.  He makes the call and:

Rutter  Ks Kh
Thew   Ad Qh

Board
 Jc  4d  3h 2d 5s

ohhhhhhhhhh poker is sooooo cruel.  Ship it to the Thew once again adding another 100k to his stack.

Stuart Rutter is OUT and becomes the 10th place finisher winning £1,540

John Faulkner finds himslef with only 31,500 and goes all in from middle position.  Unlucky for John, Michael Artemis in the small bind wakes up with  Jd Jh and his  Aspades  9c doesn't look that great.  An ultra boring board brings no joy for John and he is out.

John (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=211) Falconer (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=211) finishes in 9th place for £1,925

The Great Wall of Travolta has taken a slight bump, Ash Hussain getting it in with best of it and having his opponent, Ram Lakha, metaphorically replicating a scene from Deliverance.

Ram = Ad Jd
Ash = Aspades Qc

However, as we all know, poker can be a topsy turvy game at times, and after a 5c 3d Ts 4d 5d board and a few restrained cheers from the local crowd, Ram was breathing a thanful sigh of relief and stacking up his new found column of chips.

Michael Artemis is very busy now on the table, there is not a lot of action again.  Just a raise and then the flash of an Ace and then muck.

But Millas was getting impatient with his short 44,000 and pushed all in late posiition, the busy boy Artemis Called.  Millas spent most of the tournament without a stack to mess with though.

Millas   Kh Td
Artemis   9h 9s

Board came

 Aspades  Jh Js   9c   4c

Michael Millas finsished in 8th position taking home £2,310

Ram Lakha will certainly be breathing heavily now because he's just eliminated a hugely disappointed Tony Cartwright. The swan song hand was pretty straight forward and unfolded quicker than a speeding bullet. Ram raised it up with Th Tc, Tony moved all-in with Ad Qs and Ram called.

Board = 2d Kc 9d 9h 4c

... and that was all she wrote for Tony.

Tony Cartwright is OUT and becomes the 7th place finisher winning £3,465

Drama at the final table as in the space of just one or two hands, another all-in is announced, this time Dennis Troake the player with his back firmly stapled to the wall. The man with the sniper gun is Julian Thew, and his ammo looks pretty deadly, a Kings versus Eights encounter sure to propel Jools' stack towards more dizzy heights. However, the poker gods disagreed, and although the 6-A-T-2 board looked relatively harmless, Julian was plunged into the river right at the death, Troake banging the table in an adrenalin pumped moment as the dealer popped out a third Eight.

For the first time in a while, Julian looked slightly taken back, his body sagging in the aftermath. Meanwhile, Troake apologised, maybe for the outdraw, maybe for the outburst, I don't know, and Julian stoically answered, "It's okay."

Next hand!

Ash Hussain raises on the button to 22k, Ram pushes for his final 33k and Ash insta calls and flips his  Ahrt Qd over.  Ram shows  Ad 7d  but doesnt get any help at all from the board only 2 queens instead which means:

Ram Lakha finishes in 6th place for £4,620

We are now on Level 16 and blinds have gone to 5K / 10K.  There was some chatter about missing some levels and shortening the clock but its a stiff no from the tourney Directer Keith (Steven Gerrard lookalikie who might go for a night out in Liverpool some time soon) they play on.

5 players left
av 192,500

Matt Tyler is OUT and becomes the 5th place finisher winning £6,160

The shortstack of the five remaining players, Matt Tyler, pushes all-in with 7h 7s and is instacalled and that's insta with a capital 'I' (actually, let's make it all capitals)... INSTACALLED by Michael Artemis who proudly showed Ad Ahrt.

However, that joy soon turned to chagrin as the first card came out a Seven on a 7c 4s 9d Flop, a devastated Michael understandably letting slip the odd expletive. But before he'd barely finished his mumbling of naughty words, the Aspades hit the Turn to send a relieved Michael into ecstasy. A Tc later and Matt was forced to exit stage left, deep in the knowledge that he'd been cruelly teased by the poker gods.

And with Julian out of the way, the three agree to a three-way split. Michael Artemis is the 2nd place finisher winning £15,760
