Doobs - Sorry to hear about your bad news and that you won't make it to WSOP this year. But GL to anyone going to Vegas this year.

Has anyone been to Vegas in January. I kind of have an idea about the weather. Much more pleasant. But is the poker action dead? I guess it will pick up for superbowl in Feb. But maybe there are also some conventions in Jan. Anyone been then?

Betfair has Conservative seats 100-149 favourite.

They currently have 345

Less than 50 seats is 12/1 currently

Johnson's 2019 coalition involved adding "red wall" Leave voters focussed on Brexit while retaining "blue wall" Remain Cons who saw Corbyn as a bigger threat. Brexit and Corbyn now both "gone" as issues, and the bill for this strategy is coming due...

the red wall is going red again
the blue wall is going yellow

I far prefer Con less than 100 seats to more than 200 on 4th July.

I have moved to a coastal constituency which is currently a 20k Conservative majority. They've picked a young Labour candidate who ordinarily would be a no-hoper but they think its neck and neck this time

Sunak was canvassing yesterday in Bosworth, an old constituency of mine...26,000 majority.......normally there would be no need for him to visit there...

A lot of water has passed under the bridge

A few Prime Ministers on, here we are again

Brexit went well. So much so that all parties cannot resist talking about it this time round :-)

Anyone for a general election discussion?

There is such pleasure/drama/beauty (Insert your own noun) in nature for those who make the effort to observe it.
...

The double glazing keeps any outside sound out of our house normally, but when it gets warmer like now we keep the window open a bit and tend to fall asleep to the sound of sheep and wake up to the dawn chorus and the sound of cows

It is not relaxing - but it is ... cool

How is Science Wife BTW? Still Sciency?

As it looks highly unlikely I will get on the Vegas trip this year next door.....

1% please when you get round in doing your staking for your package. As always, I do not expect a return  Roll Eyes

Even if he were to be convicted it wouldn't bother his supporters, in fact I think he would use it to his advantage.

Imagine if he had absolute power, like Putin or Kim Jong Un. I wonder if America would still be the land of the free?

If it was just the evidence, it would be about 100% guilty. The case was made and in response the defence submitted virtually no evidence. You or I would stand no chance, if we didn't make an effort to defend ourselves.

Start of schedule update

Flight into Vegas is now booked for Friday 14th June, meaning that the entry to the first event, the $1,500  razz will be somewhere close to last reg.

Please let me know if any objections. Obviously won't enter if I am tired, although hoping for a full reset of body clock by then.

All other events will be entered at the very start, unless delayed by still being in a previous event.

Trump trial.

What do you tink the odds are of a conviction? Remember, we need all 12 jurors to vote guilty.

I would love to see it, I just can't see it happening myself.

We have cows one side and sheep the other and they can get a bit noisy at lambing time or when the calves are separated from their mothers, but by far the houses thing is the rooks in the trees at the bottom of the field. They start arguing at daybreak and continue until it goes dark.

Kaw,  kaw, kaaaaaw.

Soothing.
