Not looking good for djoko v muzza final, 80mph first serves and making it clear his wrist is hurting. He won't be making the 2nd week let alone a final.

Advise any of you insomniacs who can get on with coral to take the 9/2 cilic to win quarter 1, djoko wrist can't hold up, he will probably find away through this match but it wouldn't surprise me if he announces a retirement from the event if he isn't able to serve at full power.

Morning Tighty.

I think that Nicholas Mahut is worth supporting today when he plays Kohlschreiber. Kohlschreiber is out of sorts over the last 2 months with some poor losses, and retired from the Olympics. That is all we have to go on as despite both being on the circuit for years they have not played each other for 8 years.

Suggest £20 Mahut @ 13/10 with Hills

Morning.

As Djokovic is struggling, should we be looking for value in his half?  I was thinking Raonic or Cilic.  Raonic is in Nadal's quarter and hopefully when he gets to the semi, Djokovic is gone.  Nadal showed some fire at the olympics, but hasn't been on top form for years.

Suggest 16/1 e/w with victor.  Maybe £25 e/w.

Even if he faces Djokovic in the semi, we have to be in with a decent sweat given his struggles.

With the state of Djoko's wrist I like that position on Cilic. If you want to further oppose Novak then Raonic ew at 16/1 seems like a good way to do it.

The 3rd quarter looks very interesting with questions over the top 3 so maybe dutch Zverev and Thiem in the hope that they have improved over the year.

Definitely think it is worth getting a bet on in the third quarter before play starts today. But I don't know who.
http://www.oddschecker.com/tennis/us-open/mens/3rd-quarter-winner

In the top of this section Thiem has seemed fatigued and heavy after a tough and bust first half of the season. Del Potro also could struggle with fitness through 5x five set matches and I'm surprised how short he is.

Wawrinka is Wawrinka. Yes he has made the semis twice in the past three years but he has been very inconsistent in recent months and actually has a tough start vs Verdasco. Will he turn up?

Kyrgios is 8/1 with Choral, I really want to back him but I'm not sure I can, so much talent and a decent draw. Can he hold it together for five matches? He managed that in Atlanta recently

Tomic is interesting. I haven't really seen enough of Zverev to have a big opinion about him.

6/1 cilic wasn't up last night, really surprised he is 6/1, isner Is 3rd fav and he was awful yesterday. This is the weakest quarter by far.

Best of 5 sets will suit Stan more than most as he as strong as an ox. Perhaps the 40/1 Steve Johnson is worth a punt in this quarter given the doubts on the top 3(Stan delpo and kygrios).  Zverev will be a future number one but has to grow physically before he starts competing with the big boys at the slams.

If Djokovic's wrist is that bad, shouldn't we just be laying him big at 2.78?

Then again, if it was that bad, would there really be 000s lined up to lay at around that price?

Nicholas Mahut was 2 sets up when Kohlschreiber retired. Most firms will pay him out as the winner as 1 set was completed.

Thanks once again for the tip, Hector. Got completely buried today, this was my only hope but alas, billy and everyday seem to be the only firms to void this after he was a clear winner 2 sets up leading the third.

Perhaps that is a reason they are responsible for some of the better prices?
