Best nicknames in sport?
«
on:

I'm probably 20 years late to the party with this one, but I spotted it Next Door this morning.
Justin Edinburgh
, the former Spurs regular, who later managed a bunch of minor teams, had the nickname
"Leith
".
Any other examples of great nicks?

Good morning,
I always liked:
Nobody for John Eales, because nobody's perfect. 36 for Billy Twelvetrees , good as well. King of Spain for Ashley Giles is a highlight.

Not at all witty or clever,
But Doug Martin, the running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is nicknamed "The Muscle Hamster" because he's tiny but beastly

Umm, me too.
I had to have the Leith one explained to me, too.
Pity poor Marky, what chance has he got?

Ashley Giles had a load of mugs made up that should have read King of Spin but they misprinted and they ended up with King of Spain on them.
Could have been called that before the mugs, that's all I know about it.
