I wish! Obviously been busto loads of times and never minded admitting it, just an occupational hazard.

Was always taught to say "under it, doing no good" by the old school guys anyway.

Willie Tann takes this to extremes, cos he doesnt know who he owes and how much- he has to instantly reply to anyone asking how he is "No good, doing terrible"- I asked him once in general conversation, and he replied his standard line, he had won 2 tournys in 4 nights in London lol but is so trained at saying no good, it just comes out automatically

Ahh those were the good days. Willie once tried to nip me in Vegas for my last 20 bucks. He should learn to choose his marks better.

Gotta love the old boys. Saw a tweet the other day. Mike the Mouth is trying to needle Sam Grizzle and asks him "do you even know how much money you owe Sam?" Grizzle relies "No but I do know I'd like to owe some more". Smiley

Played cash with him a couple of years ago at Caesars, I don't think I've ever laughed so much at a poker table, very funny guy.  Grin

One of the first time I ever went to a casino... Golden Nugget in Shaftesbury Avenue.

I did my bollocks on roulette when an old fella approached me.

"excuse me sir, you couldn't see fit to lend me £200?"

"I'm skint."

"Oh. Can I lend you £20 then?"

Not quite sure how this thread can possibly of got blown out of proportion this badly.

Defo the best bet/only way mate.

fwiw those ppl who never post on here and have been posting itt just causing shit and getting needlesly involved are terrible, so much dross

So we should support scumbags ? stupid post . Scammers effect the entire poker community .
People who don't post regularly don't post on here religiously because they don't feel the need. There view is less meaningful then your own? So your saying we have to have post pointless post after pointless post of talking rubbish to buy your respect and deserve to be hurd?.  The poker world does not need people like scumbag marc wright FACT

The camel and lildave know the industry and Marc wright ruins it with his foolishness

k so have communicated with lewis and we have made an agreement.

We both could of handled the situation better and should of clarified what % we were swapping in the first place. Lewis would of paid me 5% if he had won, in which case i do owe him 5%. I genuinely didnt think we had swapped 5% tho. I got lazy with the situation and then came to vegas.

This thread has de-railed pretty badly as usual, but there has been some good advice in it.
I am home from vegas at the weekend (hopefully later than that) and the agreement myself and lewis will be met by this time next week. I think he will be posting here to confirm this.

Im sorry for some of my responses in this thread, but it was obv pretty tilting to read so much negativity about myself at anytime but especially when im playing the biggest poker torny of my life and away from home. Also over what is clearly a misunderstanding / down to bad communication.

Some of the trolling in this thread was not needed, but i guess to be expected.

Wont be checking back here for a while now as playing main event in morning and stuff, but i fullx expect lewis to post here soon and confirm everything i have just written.

thanks, marc

If true, and presumably it is, good recovery. Gl in the main and clear your head and sort it out after. Rooting for you in the main, love the style and don't even hate the arrogance. Run good

Seemed a pretty clear case of you not really thinking it through at the time. It's clear to see that Lewis didnt think it was complicated at all and that you were swapping 5% face-up... as with any casual agreement, given he didnt know you were in MU and didnt have all of yourself etc. Obv if you'd thought about it at the time you would have done things differently, but paying up does seem fair, given he would clearly have paid 5%.

Obv sucks having to chuck in 4k, esp if you dont have loads of spare $, but does seem the correct thing to do. Shame it couldnt have been discussed quicker and moderated sooner in a non-public arena (the OP didnt look great for you).

Wp for agreeing to pay-up though... expensive mistake, but doesn't seem like you have much option given evidence.

GL in the main. Win it and blow it all on sex ffs!

this is one of the darkest times for UK poker I think. We'll all be back though Smiley Flushy or Moorman win the main event should keep everyone in action for at least a yr or two :SD

@Pleno - imo this thread just isn't going to achieve anything I think you actually could have arbitrated this privately and seen a much better resolution but maybe not, decent chance you're right.

Under It = Needing a win, but still in the game i.e you have plenty of actual outs.

Busto/Potless = Have no money/are not in the game.

I actually semi-enjoy being under it, would obv rather just have the cake but IDK feels kinda pressured and "hectic" being under it it's actually quite good fun once you've been there a few times and realise it's not that big of a deal
Well I am amazed at your attitude to be honest and having read your stuff for years I can't believe how much you have changed in 4 months. You should read this thread from the start SOBER.

It's all about respect. The guy put him up in his room and got shat on! Cos the shitter happens to be uk online/blonde glitterati you all come out with excuses. We see it all the time live. Same old shit.

Bad enough TK being lumbered with him so don't you stick up for him.

Your rep is everything in this game Dave

I think some of the comments especially the Camel makes about Marc's arrogance is unfair. All of those posts with his graphs and about his record are in OPs to staking threads. He's selling himself.

If he just posted "Hi I'm Marc Wright you all know me so I won't bother with an intro, please stake me", I'd bet my bottom dollar (even if I was potless Wink) that you'd abuse him for that too.

Not saying that he isn't arrogant, and I'm certainly not saying he's in the right here, I don't and I'm pleased to see he's owned up and promised to do what is right. I just think that people are using this thread as an excuse to get on the bandwagon to rain all sorts of abuse on Marc, some of which is unwarranted.

What have I said to make you think any of this?

I agree 100% about the room thing but that was never the discussion.

I'll quote the first post I made ITT

Marc, wtf even is this you literally defy logic with some of the stuff you do.

It's 4 grand ffs, literally fuck all in the grand scheme you know if these stories come out about you this will happen - just begrudingly ship the £4k and be done with it.

What's going to happen now is you're going to be paying the £4k and facing yet another horrible hit to your rep. So stupid. I hope for your sake much other stuff doesn't come out but my only advice is if you wanna stay in gambling for as long as you should given your game then you really need to sort your fucking life out mate.

Embarrassing tbh.

Marc obviously owes the money it's not even a question, I fail to see how I've even remotely defended him. I said that the thread was badly timed and poorly judged, which I still think it is.

I feel like i'm dragged into the "defending marc" crowd (which im not) because I didn't say "aww poor lewis what a horrible spot" or "Marc's a sumbag scamming piece of shit" all of which is pointless dross and is what 88% of this thread is. Ironically what I've said has actually been some of the most useful in the whole thread, imo. It's obviously a bad spot and I defo feel bad for Lewis but it's not news isn't any of this and these things get blown up and have bad affects for lots of different people (this will be bad for people you dont realize and affect them as well - obv most people dont know this, but it's true)

Just to affirm my position. Marc 100% owes the 5%, not even worth typing it's so obvious. Marc is OOL by not paying/dodging and you won't find a single post by me on this thread that will say anything different.

Your post is actually so far off the mark (directly related to this thread also) for reasons I can't even tell you because they are confidential. So I'm quite tilted by it, speshly as you call me a drunk at the start of the post. I know you're a nice guy though so I'm not annoyed by it/you at all

Keith has seen situations like this many times i would guarantee.
Dubai also makes a great point about players being " under the cosh". No way that someone who's under it, is going to give a second thought to paying a % swop to a random before he pays his backers and cops a few quid for himself. Im not saying its right but its the hard truth.

Also grimming stakees or backers is totally different to not paying out a % swop. Wrong but not the same.

For the record , in my opinion the 5 % definitely stands for the amount he cashed and nothing else
