So many ****s on both sides - biggest debate in our modern history descends into a ludicrous and childish mud slinging contest based on personal and party political insults.

I am so weary and more aware than ever of why I stopped showing any interest in politics for 25 years.

Tend to agree, the debate on BBC is a bit embarrassing.

Both sides are trying to mud sling and I'm sure the lady from the TUC still thinks she's fighting the general election against the Tories, not debating Europe.

I think this bothers me the most that you get the spectacle of the TUC and Sadiq Khan attacking leave on party political grounds while talking up Cameron's 'win' on migrant benefits  as a better way to control migration numbers. To me, and I would hope anyone with a social conscience, this is the meanest and most penny pinching element of their argument.

It's worse than controlling numbers in the first place - what do you do to the migrant with a family who contributes for three years and then falls ill - starve them, send them home ?

It's a joke to see Labour supporting this - but I guess when you start earning £100k a year you forget where you came from and what you are supposed to represent and join big business and vested interest in everything but name.

I think leave have slightly won each debate up until tonight. Think they got a true battering tonight, unable to get their point across as good as remain and unable to answer the questions thrown at them.

Tonight was a good night for remain

Remain now trading at 1.3 implying a 76% chance, Leave now just a 24% chance.

£45.3m traded - biggest political market in Betfair history

Don't know how you get rid of the mrs doyle bit at the end, or the canned laughter

A few thundery downpours tomorrow,.......otherwise the weather looks ok.

This will help to get the remainers voting, as no doubt the leavers are getting out, rain or shine  Smiley

Two letters from the campaigns today.

Remain has 1,200 businesses, 51 of them FTSE 100, arguing Remain.

Leave have 1.

no cheating now, what is the one leading UK business putting their name to leave? (quoted LSE company, not a Dyson)

i can give clues if needed

Personally I believe there are plenty of reasons to remain, but barely any to leave. Love Europe, love being part of Europe.

Some of the replies are remarkable.

It seems like so many people honestly believe the bullshit peddled by the leave campaign that the working class will be better off if the UK left the EU.

That reminds me, I've got some snake oil to sell if anyone is interested.

Why would so many have not declared an opinion?

I looked one of them up - obviously it's not always going to be the case, but it shows that some have a vaguely sensible reason for not stating their own beliefs.

Quote
...In order to help constituents, I have organised, and will be chairing, eight public debates which will be held across the constituency during June.  I believe that an MP should, in a referendum of this magnitude, be available to guide and inform.

To ensure that there is sufficient balance when I chair these public meetings and provide information, I will not be detailing my voting intentions beforehand or joining one side of the campaign or the other.
