So 77 remain with blinds 3000-6000. 40 minute clock then an hour clock for the final

64 are paid, £600 up

1st is expected to be £37,500

I'll put the full payout up when I see it

Tips to win?

Hopes to win?

Pull up a chair to table 11 Tighty and you should get enough content for the update there!

Good luck to all the blondes still in. Interesting that the second highest chip stack was from a live Day 1. Maybe those who were complaining would like to backtrack a bit now?

Remember the final table will be live streamed

and its going to finish in time for me to sit back and watch the superbowl before I drive home. If I repeat that often enough it will happen

hope and expect a really good line up for this final

link http://www.dusktilldawncasinonottingham.com/live.php

The estimable Ken Billups is going to update the thread with key hands while I am in the booth fighting tooth and nail to keep smashedagain away from the microphone

Wow table 11 should be live streamed str8 away. That's a cracking table with those guys and the big stacks. Everyone of em is capable and can play a bit with the exception of Guy Johnson :)

First out Robert Cooper, QQ, versus Anthony Soan AK

On table "where is WeeDave?" Clint Pannell doubles through Assaf Hussain

Calling a raise with K-J, leading on Q-10-4, being raised and calling it off versus Q-J. Ace on the turn

Same orbit Lawrence Townsend then shoves a short-stack, called by Pannell and called all in buy Hussain

Townsend trebles up with 99 v AK v AJ

Assaf Hussain second out today

Well that was a strange bubble

In 66th Chinese Frankie shoved 95,000 with K-K

Mark McCluskey is a no show in the big blind in this hand

Doig Rudling sees an Ace, and calls with A-8.

Spikes his Ace, and knocks Frankie out

Frankie is currently motoring round the cardroom like Bernie Clifton on his ostrich, on speed.

Not the happiest chappy. Unlucky Frankie

--

On the pure bubble on the same hand for hand Anthony Soan and Alex Zacharakis play a big one. Soan 3 betting pre from the big blind and being called, and check raising all in on 9-J-4

Zacharakis folds

---

So after this hand Mark McCluskey who would have come back to 10xbb has 2,000 left in the small blind

His hand is dead, not played out

Alan Stearn shoves, wins the pot

The absent McCluskey bubbles and we are down to 64 all guaranteed £600 and up

and as of this moment Mark McCluskey has just turned up for a 2pm start

Ouch ouch ouch

Will Mitchell, the man who wears personalised hoodies to poker comps, opens to 18,000

"You are doing that out of respect aren't you? You don't want to play me down the streets" says Will

Half of Ali's top lip curls in such disdain, and the right eyebrow raises simultaneously, that I find this the funniest thing I think I have ever seen at DTD. Wish it had been live streamed. A completely priceless look.

Batey check calls 30,000 on  Js 6c 3s

 Ad turn

Batey checks

Haslam 52,000

Batey check raises to 123,000

Haslam a slow deliberate fold

Batey, looking like a pale Ali G in hoodie, baseball hat, dark glasses and an attitude looks at me for my approval. We go back a long way from when he was playing bowl poker.

I nod, almost imperceptibly.

"Are you famous?" Athir Ali says to Ben Vinson

"Only in my own house" replies Ben

Ali has raised and Ben has peeled the big

Ben has check called the flop

And check raised large on the turn, the chips in the foreground are Ben's

"I am such a bad player" says Ali, should shove the flop

"I am going to toss a coin, see what to do"

He tosses a pound coin on the felt

"damn, wrong answer"

He thinks some more

"If I make this call I win the tournament"

I resist the temptation to tell him to make the call then

He thinks some more, face contorted in agony

It's a 1.5m chip pot if he calls

He folds

Vinson smiles the smile of a young boy whose mum has caught him with his hand in the biscuit tin

"I knew it" says Ali. "I passed A-J"

Vinson shows the  Ks and is definitely the chip leader again

In the big blind Matt Harris's christmases have all come at once

MeDuck Anon knocks out Stuart Brownson in 22nd

Brownson shoves A-J in late position for 10xb b

Anon in the blinds calls with K-9off

Spikes a Nine to win

--

Liam Batey button shoves 300,000 with 8-8

In the big blind Marcin ilde only playing 500,000 now calls with K-Jss

9-A-6-5-10 Doubles Batey up

The majority of this field is now in shove mode at approaching 20-40k. Average is a touch over 20x bb but the chips are concentrated in Vinson and Anon's Hands

Vinson has 2m+, so the "real" average is sub 20x bb

4-9-Q flop

expletives flow from the mouth of Anon like a Tsunami of emotion

Mason doubles to 1.3m

---

Lil Dave opens on the button with A-Q playing 1.2m

Dominic Cugudda peels

Cugudda open shoves 3x the pot on A-5-6

Dave calls

Cugudda 7-8, which gets there to double Cugudda up and leave Nicholson with 600,000 or 15x bb......

another pic and update of Liam Batey?

he's the shortstack of ten with 500,000 blinds just going 30-60k

He is shoving fairly frequently but interestingly and very cleverly NEVER into Ben Vinson's big blind. Shrewd (as presumably Ben and his stack/knowledge will call wider than a lot of others)

He hasn't been called yet, and is picking up enough blinds and antes to keep in it

My "how does someone stay Anon when they are going to be shown on a live stream, but they really really insist?" dilemna is averted

Moving to the 8 handed final now

Richard Paul btn opens 2.3x 92cc, Ben Vinson peels A9ss, flop comes 842hh Vinson donk leads around 1/2 pot, Paul quickly raises, Ben tanks and small 3bets and Richard Paul insta jams, Ben snap mucks, great play from both.

Terrific service on the pics, I can not believe I did not bok her. You even beat me to the aces v 8's hand, I had finished my post and there you had it. How can you be in three places at once? Any news on your co commentator in the booth? I know Herbie is in the building.

Genuinely, I asked Herbie if he wanted to co-commentate tonight. He turned me down!

Anyone in the building who wants to commentate, whether for the craic, the experience or just to see what it is all about, find me and you can join in later!

Pretty interesting hand between Dave and Harris there bvb

Harris limps the small blind. Dave raises the bb.

9s 2c 3c, two clubs. Harris leads, Dave calls

9s. Harris bets again 450k, with 2.2m behind. Dave calls.

Qh. Harris bets 560k. Dave folds.

Hands?

Harris Kh 8c

Dave Jd 4h!

Paul has been really unlucky since its gone short handed. He's played really tight and solid and everytime hes opened up Harris has found a premium.

This time Paul raises the SB with  Ks 3h  Harris R-R with  Td Kh Paul with a ballsy and brilliant shove unfrotunatley Harris find the call.

Board runs out:

 Aspades Js 2h Qc 6d

We are heads up LD vs Harris

Massive congratulations to Lil'Dave for an amazing result and an equally amazing performance. He is pretty much the nicest guy I know in poker and it is a privilege to be his friend. What a legend. Dave, you should be hugely proud of yourself.

I thought the standard of play on that final table was extremely good and the 92 play was stunning. A special mention to Matt who finished second. He played great all final and it is a shame he let his head go down in the last part of the heads up duel. I had a really good chat with him afterwards and I reckon he is a star in the making. Such a good attitude towards the game, and very humble too.

I really enjoyed doing the commentary and thanks so much for all the kind comments. Never done that sort of thing before and I was very nervous. Hope I didn't go on with myself too much!

Now just got to sweat the 49ers in what will hopefully turn out to be a massive comeback. Will be a perfect end to a great night.

Thanks guys, obviously I'm very happy with the result and I got many lucky hands throughout the day and threw in the odd good bit of play in there :P lovely support from all on blonde like I said I have a lot of time for a lot of people on here so was very much appreciated :)

Yes, agree with Stu, Matt played great all final, on entering the final I 100% underestimated him, I didn;t think he had some of the moves he made on the final in him but he clearly had great instincts for the game and a good technical game, very impressive and 5-3 handed I think he got the better of me. I got the better of the cards HU and had the run of the tempo so was pretty difficult for him and the TT*** hand sunk his morale which was kind of a shame because he really did play a superb game up till that point. Lovely Kid as well and his mates were all top guys (and girl). Hope he gets a blonde account and gets stuck in!

Great updates and no doubt interesting commentary from my friend Stu. Thanks everyone GN xx

Hey guys, makes sense that my first post comes on this thread! Glad so many people watched my biggest ever tournament cash by some margin, fantastic to play with so many great players. I think my inexperienced showed through heads up, where I quite rightly got crushed (sounds like a popular result though!). Hope I didn't embarass myself too much overall, fantastic atmosphere, hope to make a more serious run at the national circuit sometime soon. Full credit to Dave, one of the nicest guys I've ever met and showed true class, both through his poker and his grace in victory. A worthy winner! (WHERE THE FUCK WAS MY SPADE!)
Matt

Thanks :) I think it's clear where I need a little more work and a little more experience, but prior to heads up I'm happy with how I played. BIG bankroll boost :)

Congratulations sir - one of the good guys and a confirmed winner on so many levels.

Couldn't view live due to the atrocious wifi and 3G signals in G last night - can't wait to watch it and to hear the views of Stuart

Just spent time with my morning coffee reading the entire thread.

First things first, WPWP Lil Dave, such an incred and deserved result. Couldnt be more chuffed for you mate.

Would also like to thank all the kind words for me in the thread, really nice to see it, and sorry I wasnt on blonde to see it all yesterday, but it is really appreciated.

The biggest irony of yesterday, was that table 11 breaking and my subsequent redraw was probably the worst beat of the day. I was delighted with how I played, just lost traction at the wrong time.

Also great work tighty, really have no idea how you get round so much.

WPWP lil Dave again, hopefully kickstart the year fella!

This really was a good final table

So often the play on these can be a bit stilted, and its understandable as the money at stake is large, and the pay jumps big, and people can't deal.

Not this final though. I think I expected Ben V and LilDave to fight it out, but early on there was one of the best plays you will ever see from a player I have never seen before, Richard Paul. It starts when he raises with 2-9.....I can post the hand up, but am wary of spoilers as I hope a load of people watch the re-run

Then, as the final wore on, Matt "Rexas" (new blonde) Harris started mixing it up. I'm not sure if it is true Matt that you won your entry into this by winning a pub raffle? Or is that a mistake on my behalf? I think I heard you say it! Some spin up if its right....

Anyway, it was a pleasure to watch.

www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/live and "past streams", and it will be there by midweek.

There is the option of watching with the sound turned down! but don't, Honeybadger talks as well as writes well about the game he clearly loves.

massive kudos, wp. you know there's sick variance in tournaments when you find yourself up against Lil dave deep in one, no way to get past his mad heater skills on the day!

No offence to matt, but so glad lil'd won this! Like honeybadger said - Dave is one of if not the nicest poker player I know, always has time for everyone and happens to have a little talent in the finger he negotiated to keep from the Chinese guys who took tue other one.

I hope this helps dent his runbad hole for the year, he showed me his graph this week and I laughed but also cried when i saw the EV going up and the $$ going down.

He's helped me personally a lot, and deserves a mantlepiece ornament.  I'm looking forward to celebrating with a drink next time i see him.

Well done mate.

I watched more of this live stream than previous ones.

Have to say it was a pretty masterful performance from Dave, never really under pressure, looked totally in command of the situation and his own decision making. Really vwp and a great win.

Also found Tighty's commentary very accomplished and thought Stu was the ideal guy in the second chair - really good mix of humour and first class analysis without getting too preoccupied with jargon. Very very good and excellent free entertainment

The pub raffle thing was my first ever live tournament a few years back in a side event to a poker festival in brighton (literally the worst feeling ever, QQ into 77 at the final table and he spikes a seven, not that i remember at all.... ;)). I won my seat to this event through a satellite and a beautiful folding performance :) (I'm such a nit...)
