Hello to all,

I am new to online poker and have some questions.

I want to play freerolls for a while until I get the hang of things.
Do sites hold them regularly?
Which are the best sites?
Should I just sign up to every one?

Any answers/tips will be very much appreciated.

Thanks

welcome Smellysnelly2005 (a strange name you may come to regret)
pretty much all sites have free games. you can shop around for sites you like the look of. I mostly play on Ladbrokes but there are plenty on here who use many other sites.

free roll games might help you to get used to the software but the standard of play will be understandably low and frustrating. I would urge you to put a small ammount of real money to one side and try to play for real money as soon as you can afford it and feel confident enough to.

tell us a bit more about yourself and your experience of the game so far

Welcome Smellysnelly...so why did you choose that name then?!??!

Adam has covered most of it

assuming you know how to play the game (hand rankings etc) and have become accustomed to software etc by creating yourself a lot of play money dollars, I'd dip in at the lowest real money levels as soon as you cana nd see where you are at

Yes, the freerolls will be extremly frequent, but often with hundreds and thousands of players. You might find out more about your game by entering the chepest SNGs and freezeouts you can find with far fewer runners.....

Thanks for the quick replies.

I've played a lot of cards with friends and gambled a fair bit online nut all Casino's and Bookies up to now. I decided it was time to play against people and not a house edge.

I know the game fairly well but have never played for money, either online or live.

I've been called smellysnelly since I was about 5 as my surname is Snell. Small kids are nasty buggers but if you laugh at yourself it makes things much easier!!

I do intend on playing for money pretty soon, but need a bit of confidence building first

I've used William Hill a lot in the past. A goo done for Poker?

Cheers

i recomend freerolls that have cash prizes as a reward to all players that dont want to risk there own money a great way to start and learn the game and it encourages discplined play as you will often find yourself playing alot of players going all in with any 2 cards

Are all-ins the way to go in big freeroll tournaments??

It would seem that a couple of early double ups would be essential. Or is it best to just play your normal game and let people knock each other out?

Are there many freeroll tournaments with cash prizes?

Thanks for the help people

as you are playing the freeroll to learn and progress, then play your normal game, it'll serve you better in the long run than going all-in and maybe getting a lucky result
