After a wild, crazy night of sleeping at the Holiday Inn, we've arrived at
DTD in good time to see just a smattering of faces joining us early doors, the likes of
Steve Jelinek, 'Red-Dog'
Tom McCready,
Jen Mason and
Alan Stearn all skipping the GCBPT final in favour of a two hour clock and 20,000 starting stack. Also present are the likely lads,
Nick Whiten,
Simon Trumper and Simon Chubbs, the latter looking unusually dapper as if on his way to an interview.
As always,
DTD have a running total of players gleaming away on the screen, whether good or bad. The current reading is 132, and it's increasing at the speed of a jet propelled cheetah (okay, a slug in treacle), but it should make the 150 mark by the end of the hour, and perhaps even higher before the completion of level two four hours later. In fact, there's a dirty rumour simmering around the vicinity that
Sam Trickett and a handful of other eager beavers are considering playing like men possessed in the Champion of Champions to either amass a meaty stack off the bat or donate it all and make that 2 hour plus journey up the M1 to Nottingham.
Right, Floppy's currently fiddling about with a video camera that we purchased today, but hopefully he'll get a video up shortly. Sadly, the first ever one to derive from this camera will be a practice clip one of me, which I was initially assured wouldn't be making its way to the general public. Lies, the Floppster's poker face cracked in several places. (Do you look at the camera or the interviewer? I can never decide, I chose the camera when I spotted Floppy's mug.)
