CHIPLEADER is a unique tournament that allows you to accumulate your own starting stack for the main event by winning online satellites - the more you win, the more chips you take through to the live main event. Players must accumulate a minimum of 15,000 chips (through one or more satellites) to qualify.


€5 Online Sit & Go satellites start on Monday 30th July at Dusk Till Dawn Online Poker and run right up to the event. Players can opt for 5, 10 or 20 player Sit & Go’s and anyone to win a 20 player Sit & Go also wins a Golden Chip. Nice to see the chipleader return, I really enjoyed the last one. Hopefully it gets alot of interest and keeps getting bigger and better. The sats look like they have improved paying top 2 which is better imo.

Who is going to be having a good go at this new Chipleader please?

Had a go yesterday.

Most tilted I have ever been. Probably lost over 10 flips in a row then had 77 on 7 j j board and a

guy gets it in with 4 4. Turn 4 , river 4.

Played some big cash games and lost over £50k with a9 v a8 on a A 5 6  board in the EPO a few years

back but that was nothing compared to losing arond 20 3euro sit and go's.

The cat only just survived.

Heh that cash pot sounds pretty nasty.

I gave it a go aswell played 8 or 9 20mans and got something like 3rd,4th,4th,5th and 6th....

From what i saw yesterday it doesn't look worth to play the single tables either as they were filled with regs, at least 3 in every 5 and 6 in every 10 man, combine that with 20% getting paid and 3 minute levels and they are very likely going to be -EV even for a solid player.
Think I'll be forced to give this one a miss unfortunately.

Think the average stack was about 85k last time but there was no cap on stacks so could be less.

Hi mick this will be the second chipleader tourney, the last one had around 200 runners and i think the average stack was around 60k to 80k
The blinds started at 100-200 so it still gives you plenty of play with a small to average stack.
I started the last tourney with 40k so i had 200 big blinds and this felt comfortable to play, the atmosphere at the club was very good when i played the last tourney, everyone seemed to enjoy it. I can see this getting more popular as time goes on as its so different to any other tourney concept .I hope you enjoy it GL.

frustrating night on the chip leader trail i was pushing for a £500 seat and was going to have a night on the grind today... after it taking 3 hours for me to get logged in i managed to get logged in and then the site kept chucking me out and then when i loaded it back up it wouldnt load my tables must have cost me at least 20 euros but cost me a lot more in my oppurtunity to qualify for the deepstack seat must have ended up playing about 5 sit and gos in full instead of my goal which was around about the 30-40 figure.

disappointing for me again i keep giving dtd online another chance and i always end up frustrated the support staff have been great was dealing with "andrew martin" all night. dont know were the issue lies i have never had an issue with any other software it always seems to be dtd. :( ahh well mabye will try tomorrow night if not im probably going to hit the delete button :( wish i had just gone to the club rather then wasteing a whole night at home!

had similiar problems a while back and found it was to do with anti virus updates...i uninstalled dtd, ran a virus check, switched off and on and reloaded...worked for me so might be worth a try.

I don't really get the logic with this tourney, considering there is no payout for first in the STTs

Sure, I can see how getting to the live final with a smallish stack and chipping up would be fine, but whats with the race to qualify for the £500 deepstack? By my crude calculations, without a payout for the STT winners, and taking into account a 30-40% win ratio in the 5 handed STTs (which is probably generous), you would likely have to invest €450 to win the deepstack seat which hardly seems worth it.

Surely this would be better if the winner of each sat won their buy-in back at least, with the remainder going into the prize pool....otherwise it seems very -EV

Every 1000 chips has a value of €5

If you got your buy in back you'd have to sacrifice 1000 chips otherwise DTD are giving money away.

The idea is that everyone contributes €5 to the prize pool which pays for 1000 chips. The winner of the sng gets to keep all the chips for the live final.

Of course it's -EV. It's poker.

I think there has been some nice added features to this chip leader, but I feel couple of ideas just made it bad, 1st capping chip stacks to 300k so it's not really chip leader more chip leaders with no doubt half the field on the same amount, also clearly anyone with a job who aint the luckiest guy on earth is guna get the deep stack ticket early doors. I'm keen on investing on this tourney but doin 150-200 plus a day!! Lol. Maybe just me but I'm guna get to 50k and spend no more than 150quid else its not worth it. Guna be interesting to see wat the pots like in two weeks

I think the added seats to the 500 was a very clever idea and has really got the ball rolling quickly/early. wp on that one, but I really dont see the point of capping the max stack at 300k. For some reason, the huge stacks put people off last time but really dont get why as starting with 200bb over a two day tournament is plenty and people shouldnt really worry if someone has 1000bb to start. Let them pump money into the prize pool (and lets be honest, the big stacks last time pumped a lot of money in to the prize pool)

The changes to the satellites are also good.

I will again be aiming for 50k, plenty to work with and should be attainable for reasonable value

thought i would have a real go for the 150k today...the sats are totally dead and rivered for second twice after being ahead...so no chance of hitting it as i can't play for 2 weeks now.

might try to win one of the 20 players nearer the time but other than that i am happy with my stack.

I never really understood the concept of it last year and by the time I did (like others have said on here) I thought it was pointless with the massive chipstacks some people had. But reading up on who actually won it and the chipstack he had, it just shows what can happen.

I never played the opening day (Monday) but gave it a good go on Tuesday to see how many chips I could make in a day. After such a good session (90k) on Tuesday, there was no way I could let the opportunity of a £500 deepstack seat go amiss. Played all day Wednesday and got the required 60k.

Won a Golden chip too.

Well I intend to start this week
See if I can go one better. I have to say the changes should make it a lot better I am aiming to start with around 50k in chips.
 (the 33,250 I started with last time was okay but you don't have much room for a mistake) but great return on around £85
Would just like to again thank Nicola she is a star she sorted out any of the issues in getting the money out.

The winner of the last Chip Leader started with a 38,000 stack, and beat players who had in excess of 600,000, I would expect even the minimum stack of 15,000 will have a fighting chance in this event. That's what makes this event so interesting and I hope players support it, it was also a very nice atmosphere over the weekend with online players meeting face to face and having plenty of bantor.

Yeah, had a good couple of days while i was off work...got to £100k and thought that would be enough to play...fingers crossed.

After 3 x 2nd's in the 20 i finally got a golden chip!!

Hi Guys only my 3rd post.
looking at the leaderboard first and third last time have both already got big stacks.
I myself am sat on 67500 and I came 2nd with a starting stack of 32500.
This time the standard of play some days its much harder but others its not as difficult.
I am aiming for a starting stack of just over 100,000.
I like the changes to the blinds day one this should give a finnish time of around 2 am Day 2 and as I plan to be there at the end I can go to work at least getting some sleep.

With 8 days to go before our 2nd live Chip Leader final there is only €53,500 collected, the prizepool is guaranteed at €100,000 nearly double so tremendous value to start now and qualify for the minimum of 15,000 chips or aim for the average which is currently 66,000 ( bare in mind last time the average was 75,000 and the chip leader had 612,000 but the winner started with just 33,000!)

Avg Chips look look being 85,000 ish

30 mins Day 1 - 15 levels

Last time it finished at 6am! so we have structured this one to finish around midnight both days

Yeahman - its so hard to give everyone what they want, players asked me for a Cap plus the other changes I made, most of our ideas come from player feedback

I love the idea of this comp but we cant seem to make it really rock and roll, any more ideas welcome or this may be the last try

Have to say I was disappointed when I saw there was a cap of 300k this time around. It wouldn't have affected my stack at all but I thought the monster stacks were what this was all about.

The last one with one guy on 630k and not even bothering with day 1 was brilliant.

Didn't play this last time because I was away when the Live Final took place.

Looking forward to it, even with a half average starting stack of 40K I'll have 200 big blinds so should be fun.

Been discussing with players at the table of ways to increase participation.

Idea of weekly MTT with ~ 20e buyin keeping the top heavy "pay outs" everyone enjoy as they seem to dislike the laborious process of the sngs although they would play in combination.

Got to get balance right though to keep the traffic in the sngs - so a weekly MTT be good.

Also a higher buyin sng 10euros be good, keeps affordable for the 'recreational players' and becomes a lot more attractive to the higher buyin players.



With these added no reason can't beat a 100k gt with ease

Was one of the best final tables I have seen in a while. actionjack was brilliant, and the winner played great stuff.

 

Played this and enjoyed.

I had a small stack and was in for very little as I only started a couple of days before, but I enjoyed. If I had one suggestion, it would be to start the blinds at a smaller level. It turned into a shoving circus towards the last few levels and still little play for small/medium stacks from level 7 onwards.

Enjoyed though and hopes it runs again.
