After two long days of scrapping, it's no wonder that the players here are fully focused on the task at hand, watching every card as it hits the felt, every flinch from an opponent and taking multiple notes as the day progresses. Take Exhibit A, for example, a man obsessed with details. Is there a player more focused than
John
Burke
at the moment?

Sighhhhhhh ... The omelettes at DTD come a close second to the eggs benedict.

Trevor Reardon raises to 4.5k preflop from early position. Cristiano Blanco calls and then Pearce calls in the big blind.
Pearce pushes his remaining 30k into the middle, Trevor Reardon reraises to 60k and Blanco passes Eights face up.
Pearce:
Reardon:
And suddenly Pearce is very much live...
But not any more.

And within just a couple of hands, Mohammed Javed is officially eliminated from the Anniversary Cup. Unlike yesteryear, you don't get to see a board (well, not see quite, as you're not even here), rather your hand is simply folded if you're not in your seat. And of course, that's exactly what happened as the blinds hit Javed, meaning the local boy finishes in 28th.
i'd have turned up with 1 chip left
So would I. In fact I did, in Luton in 2005. I doubled up three times before being eliminated by tikay. Some familiar names on this list...

It's the interview the world has been waiting for. Resident expert and poker pundit Chris Hall steps the other side of the camera to share his thoughts on today's event.

Will Fry hasn't had the best of starts.
He lost one pot with
to Paul Gourlay's
on the
board before having to showdown
himself on a
board to Cristiano Blanco's

Fraser Bain, Alan Jennings and
Kevin

reached the turn of a
board. Alan Jennings bet 2,200, O'Connell called. On the
river, Jennings led out again, this time for 5,000. O'Connell reluctantly called, but his
lost out to Jennings'

Kevin
O'Connell
involved again, this time up against
Steve
Jelinek
, the former Monte Carlo finalist hiding, cowering almost behind a combination of his arm and hood throughout the entire hand. The hand itself was a tense affair, and I joined the party on the turn of a
board, where Jelinek had led out for 5,000. O'Connell, cigarette protruding from his mouth, mulled over his options before making the call and reaching a
river. Another bet from Jelinek, this time 7,500, was called a little quicker by O'Connell on this final street, but it was a mistimed moved, Jelinek tabling
for the flopped set. Couple of early hits for O'Connell.
