If you are going to 3 bet fold, it only matters what your hand is if he calls. If you think he is either going to 4 bet all in or fold, and you are planning to fold to a shove, your hand may as well be a joker and the rules of bridge- it doesn't matter what your cards are. You are wasting a good hand like AQ.

In Rastafish's shoes, I'd never peel- I'd be out of position with 1.5 PSB effective left, and I wouldn't have the lead. Rastafish might though. If you think he is likely to flat the 3-bet, then the 3-bet becomes more attractive.

I'm not sure why calling is getting hate though. 30bb deep is plenty enough to have a look at the flop.

A joker and the rules of bridge don't remove any combinations of AA/AK/QQ from his range. AQ does do this. This is why (had you ruled out flatting or 3b/calling AQ as possibilities) AQ would be a particularly good hand to 3b/fold
