It's a big live freezeout
10,000 starting chips
The blinds are 200-400. You have 15,000 chips. Comfortable. There are 30 runners left
UTG limps, button limps, SB completes. You are in the BB
You hold
Probably mistakenly you check, but the UTG limp puts you off a bit as he is an aggressive player who raises a wide range of hands but here has limped. This puzzles you a bit
The flop
Boy oh boy. What a flop.
SB checks. you are out of position
there is 1600 in the pot
you have just under 15k
UTG 12k
Button 8k
SB 9k
What to do please, out of position to an aggressive player?
I'll take you through the hand, from last night, as we get some responses

if it was at Luton I'd get my coat.....if I had the royal straight flush I'd get me coat - someone would persuade everyone it was a mis deal.....

Bet 1k
that is exactly what I did.
UTG flat calls after a dwell
Button raises to 4k, leaving himself 4k behind. SB passes
What now?

I wouldn't mind Tracey but

Someone tell her she's a good player. Or else a lucky fish. She won't listen to me.

That is bizarre - I had genuinely already forgotten about that. But I could have played a better heads up game than that but I just didnt have enough chips against him....never mind - next time - thank you TE.

When I'm puzzled, this would make me even more inclined to raise here to find out what the hey is going on.
Against good opposition the check raise all-in here sounds good to me. I don't see a set being out there, with all that limping going on pre-flop. The only hand I really don't want to see if I'm called is the made flush where you're around 30%. Against a made straight you're about 40% and an even smaller 45% dog against two pair. On the most part you're rooting for a fold, you'll only get called when you're beat. As you're never too badly beat though, I still think this is the right value play.

I would probably just call - but i think a raise would be the better play.

All depends on what I feel the button is up to. I'd need more info on him to make a desicion. I might pass here, but if i did decide to stick it all-in I would flat call then bet out the last 4k on the turn. More likely to get a pass that way.

Button is an experienced grey haired player with a good track record
You can call the raise
You can re-raise
You can fold
What is UTG up to? How does this complicate your decision?
Is the Button, with only 4k back, committed to the hand?...if you flat call, the rest of his chips are coming in on the turn aren't they? so if you miss on the turn...
Questions questions...
