Oops, apparently it's Chris More not Chris Moore. We never knew...

by the way it is definitely BARBARA, not Brenda Gibson.

I could go into a long protracted explanation as to why I kept changing my mind about this, suffice to say I WAS STITCHED UP GUV!

Anyways on with the poker, it should be great with some genuinely class players at the table.

Blinds will start at 4k/8k with a 500 ante, then go to 6k/12k with a 500 ante, 8k/16k with 1k, then 10k/20k with 1.5k.

The slight ante change was due the colouring up of the 100 chips, but Jon Raab didn't want the increase each level to be too huge for the players.

Ok, we definitely are off now...

First hand and there's a bit of excitement...

Chris Hooper calls for 8k, all passed round to Ian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=171) Cox (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=171) in the BB who raises 25k more.

Chris calls and we see a flop.

Flop comes 7h 2h 9h.

Ian checks, Chris bets 15k, Ian check raises to 45k. Chris Calls.

The turn is the 8s.

Ian immediately pushes, and chris shortly folds...

A nice start for [url=http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blon

Barbara moves all-in against a Mickey (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=283) Wernick (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=283) bet on Kh Jh Td board.

Mickey says, "Maybe we have the same hand, Ace King...Ace Queen? All I can beat is a pair of Queens...."

He folds.

Barbara said, "You made a very good pass." We then overhear her saying she had Ace Queen.

Ian raises Scott's big blind from the button.

Scott looks at Ian "Smile then, you're supposed to have a good hand!" before passing.

"I don't button steal" replies Ian solemnly, but without showing his cards, the cheeky chap...

Chris More takes down the blinds with a raise, showing T T...

Chris Hooper, not to be outdone in the chris stakes, raises the next hand and wins the blinds (now 6k 12k by the way), showing down AK, and singing "anything Chris M can do, I can do better" in his head...

Julian raises to 30k, all pass, including Mickey in the BB who says "thought i had aces there" before showing 2 3 off suit.

Someone shouts out "You were ahead!"

Pure comedy.

Julian raises the next pot and again wins the blinds...

Chaz raises to 36k, Chris Hooper calls, Ian Cox calls.

Flop 3h 9h 5s

Ian Checks.

Chaz bets 45k.

Chris.....passes.

Ian passes and Chaz takes the pot down.

Chris Hooper claims he had TT which chaz has a laugh about.

Chris More seems to be the most aggressive player on the table, any unopened pot passed to him in late position results in a raise and he is less concerned by the cameras than anyone else.

Chris More raises to 30k, Scott O'Reilly calls.

The flop comes..

A rag rag

TURN: rag

RIVER: Q

Scott says "I've a Q" turning JQ.

"A Queen's good" says Chris, showing KJ revealing he received a somewhat unlucky river...

Chris Hooper moves in from the button on Mickey (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=283) Wernick (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=283)'s big blind. He takes it down...

Chaz raises to 36k from the cut-off, Chris Hooper moves all-in over the top. Slowly recovering from his big setback in the first hand. He has 217,000 now and has moved up to 4th place.

And he's not stopping... Hooper makes it 32k from the cut-off, Chris calls the 20k More in the big blind. (I'll get my coat)

Flop:

8s Th 5h

Check check.

Turn:

3h

More bets 40k, Hooper instantly moves all-in. More passes. Hooper shows 8-8 for the flopped set.

It's all passed to Mickey who moves allin.

Julian looks at his cards in the BB, and tells mickey "I've got an ace"

"You're in trooble if it's an ace" says Mickey, and Julian eventually passes, leaving Mickey to add a nice chunk of chips to his stack.

Barbara raises to 36k from UTG+1

Mickey fiddles with chips next to her sighing and mumbling to himself....

...."mind-blowing decision"...

sigh, beard scratch, sigh...

...."I call" he says eventually.

Behind him Julian wakes up and announces "ALLIN!"

Scott looks somewhat pained at all this action, laughing and shaking his head before passing after a while...

It's 143,000 more to Barbara and she decides to...

CALL ALLIN! Mickey passes...

Julian shows a pair of Queens, Barbara shows KQ soooooted.

6d 6c 7c 7h 8h flop...

...is no help for Barbara which means

Barbara Gibson is eliminated in 8th place for £5,350

And Julian is our new CHIP LEADER!

Incidentally in that previous exit hand. Mickey had A-Q and Scott had Jacks, a good laydown since Julian can only have one of the three big pairs there. I think Barbara will be rueing her call there though.

Thewy -- 400k.

The following hand, Mickey makes a full house with K-Q and makes a milky bet on the river which Ian Cox pays off, he's gone from 53k, back up to 180k now.

Scott raises to a total of 35k.

Chaz studies Scott's chips....before calling with a sigh/ grunt.

Everyone else passes.

The flop comes

5d Kh 7d.

Scott quickly checks, Chaz bets 65,000.

Scott passes, and Chaz takes the pot down.

Next hand, Chaz raises to 38,000.

Julian Thew CALLS and Scott passes.

The flop comes 3c Kd Th.

Chaz moves allin instantly. Julian passes instantly.

Chris Hooper raises to 44k, Julian re-raises 140k more. Hooper moves in for about 50k more, Julian calls.

Hooper shows Ahrt Td

Julian has Aspades Kc

Board:

8c 9c Ks Jd 3s

Mickey, "You didn't expect that, did you Julian?"

Julian adds another 200k and has over 600k, roughly 1/3 of the chips in play.

Chris Hooper is OUT in 7th place winning £7,150

It's almost as if Julian has a reputation for re-raising with sub-premium hands so no one believes his bets.

Much earlier in the first level, Julian passed 8's on the button to a Mickey Wernick raise to 26k. With both of them then around the 150k mark, there's not much reason to call, he though. What. A. Rock. :D

Ian moves allin from the SB and Julian swiftly passes his BB...

Next hand Ian raises to 37k from the button and finds Julian and Scott both passing, allowing him to pick up the blinds uncontested...

Ian asks wryly "would you beleive three in a row?"

Julian appears to shake his head and Ian passes with a smile but Julian also passes... Scott passes from the small blind and chaz's BB is returned to him with interest...

Julian now raises to 46 and Scott wakes up to move ALLIN!

Julian passes and Scott wins, "tekkin them chips down."

Chip counts:

Julian Thew -- 606,000
Scott O'Reilly -- 321,000
Chaz Chattha -- 286,000
Chris More -- 222,000
Mickey Wernick -- 200,500
Ian Cox -- 163,000

Mickey raises to 55k on the button, taking the blinds down without any turbulence.

Next hand, Mickey raises to 68k this time. Chris passes, Ian passes and Julian also passes, moving Mickey narrowly into 3rd place by a mere 500 chips...

Chaz now riases to 47k, Mickey passes, Chris passes, Ian passes, Julian passes and.....SCOTT...also passes, moving Chaz back into 3rd and Mickey knocked back to 4th. The battle for 3rd place is getting ugly!

Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Final - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 09, 2007, 06:56:26 PM
Passed round to Scott, who's been fairly inactive really so far, he makes it 40k, the others aren't wanting to get involved. He takes the blinds.

Julian wins the next set of blinds, afterwards Chaz says that he passed Ace Ten, "I'm not sure whether I should play it against you..."

Mickey makes a big raise to 75k from the button, More and Cox surrender the blinds, which crucially gives him 500 more than Chaz Chattha. That chip could make all the difference...

Probably won't though.

Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Final - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 09, 2007, 07:02:07 PM
Chaz Chattha raises, Chris More moves all-in from the button for 122k. Ian Cox passes in the small blind. Julian Thew calls from the big blind. Chaz dwells, it's roughly 75k more and he's clearly more concerned about Julian's flat-call than the all-in. He passes.

Chris More:

6d 6c

Julian:

Ac Qh

Board:

Jc Kd 4s 3h Td

Julian rivers a broadway straight to knock out Chris More in 6th place, winning £9,850

Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Final - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 09, 2007, 07:11:38 PM
Chaz passed Ace King in that previous hand. He reasoned he couldn't call as it would cost 1/3 of his chips.

No matter, next hand Chaz raises, Mickey folds, Ian Cox pushes his shortish 135k stack in the middle. Julian and Scott get out of the way and Chaz insta-calls.

Chaz:

Ahrt Aspades

Ian:

Tc Td

Board:

Ac 8c 5d 6d 9c

So Ian Cox is OUT in 5th place winning £12,550

Julian raises to 46k, scott passes, chaz passes, Mickey CALLS from the BB.

The flop comes

3h Jc 5c

TURN: 2s

Julian bets 60k...Mickey passes and Julian collects the pot.

Of these remaining 4 players, Scott O'Reilly is probably the least well known, but managed a very impressive 56th place at the WSOP ME in 2006, picking up a handsome 6 figure sum, certainly not bad from 8773 runners. He's also a lurker on blonde under the name 'Mongy' from what I gather.

Chaz raises to 70k, picking up the blinds for his efforts, moving him into 2nd with 347,000.

Chaz raises again, to 50k this time, picking up "them chips" yet again...

10 minutes of this level (8k 16k) left...

Julian raises preflop and is called by Chaz from the BB.

Chaz checks, Julian bets 50k, which Chaz check riases to 120k.

Julian passes...

Scott raises to 45k and all the players pass, as Scott adds the blinds to his stack.

"Not a very good kicker", says Mickey, before passing...

"If you had an A you were probably stuffed mickey. SInce you passed you were DEFINITELY stuffed" says Scott.

Julian and Mickey take turns to win the blinds with preflop raises.

Suddenly Mickey moves ALLIN from the sb

Julian shows 57 off...and passes.

Now, Julian riases from the SB, and it's Scott's turn to pass.

Involved in a pot with Mickey, Chaz and Mickey both check the

Ks 3d Ts flop

the turn Jd is met by a 35k bet by chaz which convinces Mickey to fold...

Next hand Mickey mumbles "looking goood, looking gooood baby" bizarrely, before passing his cards.

Mickey might possibly be cracking up slightly, but he is breaking the wall of silence that has built up between the players as he is now heard mouthing "it's been emotional folks"

Good on ya Mickey.

Chaz asks him for a count saying "I'm trying to work out if my King High is good..."

Eventually Chaz passes, saying "Don't want to give you chips"

Scott passes and Chaz also calls...

Mickey shows down A5 which is behind to Chaz's JQ meaning....

The remaining three have gone off for a short break.

Julian Thew -- 764,000

Chaz Chattha -- 700,000

Scott O'Reilly -- 333,000

The remaining payouts are:

1st £59,500

2nd £32,200

3rd £21,500

So I would surmise there may be dealage afoot... 43/43/27? Any thoughts?

During the dinner break, which incidentally was rather tasty...

...a deal was struck between the players but they have now restarted playing for the small matter of the added prize money, the seat and of course the shiny watch.

Chaz raises to 70k on the button, and Scott....PUSHES ALLIN!

"I've got an ace" says Chaz.

"How's yer kicker" Scott asks in a strange but humourous voice.

Chaz eventually calls with....

A4

Scott is amazed that he's marginally ahead with A5.

The flop looks like it's heading chop-wards as it comes

Jc 6s 6c Qs...

BUT Scott hits the 5h on the river to double up...

...and chaz has taken a big hit to his stack.

Julian fires out 30k. Scott calls.

Scott announces allin for 140k or so, both and Chaz and Julian pass, the latter laughing as he turns up 72.

Timing is everything...

Chaz raises to 70k and Scott announces ALLIN for 175,500.

Chaz says "This is one of my friend's favourite hands, this is..." but ultimately passes, and Scott wins the pot preflop.

Julian raises to 60k, Chaz re-raises to 250k. Quickly ending that one.

Julian takes the next pot from Chaz though, checking his A-6 on the flop and turn, making top pair on the latter, and allowing Chaz to hit a pair on the river and call Thewy's small river bet.

Blinds now 15k/30k with a 2k ante.
