I have two cats. Not my initial decision I must admit. The older one we hand reared from three weeks old having been abandoned outside in the rain

One of the healthiest looking bulldogs I've ever seen Rich.

BTW- Is that a Weatherspoons carpet?

No not a Wetherspoons. Won't go inside one on principle 🙂

That's fantastic.

The dog looks like he's quite a big old sort.

He's 65lb fully grown, like a small coffee table that snores.

Lost a few pounds since the above photo was taken

yikes, that's the best part of 5 stone. That's like a small person, or a 10 year old child.

Don't know if you are a trekkie, tikay, but even if not this is quite an absorbing little film with Kirk and Spock talking about their lives.

Hello again everyone!

So I took up golf again during Covid when golf courses opened again. Move along another three months and them my boss said working from home is going so well I could make it permanent. We always holiday in Norfolk so it made sense to move there now rather when I retired.
We found a lovely house with a huge garden. Very rural but only 3 miles from Kings Lynn so easier access to London. We happen to back onto the 8th fairway of the local golf course and now it feels like we are living the dream. From now until October instead of my 50 minute commute from London to Essex I can be on the first tee within 10 minutes of leaving my "office". I still have to pinch myself sometimes. This time of year in the evening the birds of prey circle looking for an easy ducklings. Squirrels are everywhere and the odd deer can be seen skipping across the fairways. They asked me to be the Club Secretary last year which I gladly accepted. We also have a small group of about 20 of us called "The Middleton Old Boys" and for nine months of the year we play a different course in Norfolk every month. I'm not bothered about my handicap in anyway but I started off 26 three years ago and reached a low of 14.8 a couple of months ago. Lots of practice helps I suppose :-)
Middleton is a small community and the local village pub is only 10 mins walk away. I restrict myself to once a week. The only time I play poker now is if the pub is particularly quiet and I can find a corner to fire up the £2 deep stack on my phone to quietly while away the time.
Jules has never sung before but joined "Your Choir" when we moved here and loves it. She has met many friends through it as well. We were driving to Sandringham a couple of years ago as she was singing there as part of the Queens Jubilee celebrations neither of us could quite believe it.
We only 20 mins drive to the coast as well and the dogs have a blast there. We also have many beautiful walks around here so that's how I spend my lunch hour every day.
I also love my electric bike. The tyres were pumped up and chain oiled and we went for our first ride of the year yesterday evening. The village closest to us is North Runcton which is gated as it has cows roaming freely. The other side is miles of open countryside.
Its so weird to think that Covid is responsible for all of this.
Times have moved on now and I have to spend two days a month in the office. I do this consecutively as if you book in advance a Travelodge is only about £100 a night. I drive to nearby Watlington station to get to Kings Cross. Its a tiny unmanned station which is only 4 carriages long and so quaint. Parking is only £1 for 24 hours as well. Its nice to go back to the City though and eat in some decent restaurants and have a good lunch. WFH lunches always seem to be either soup or a sandwich! But soon the greenhouse will be full of salad. I also make a trip once a month to play golf with my work colleagues and normally pick somewhere north of the M25.
If anyone ventures over this way and fancies a round you are more than welcome.
Check out the video at the bottom of the page.

May bore you all with some pictures as well but for now clubs have to be cleaned as we are teeing off at 8.42 am tomorrow.
