I'm in Menorca for the away 2nd leg.

How popular will I be with the other 2 guys going if I suddenly disappear for 24 hours? Smiley

Since when were you ever popular with anyone, & since when did you care?

Is the correct answer Smiley

Presumably UEFA will want a Bayern v Real Madrid final so  they will be separated in the draw. So, if Real have 1st choice,  it will be City v Real with City at home in the 1st leg.
This, of course, depends on  the "warm ball" theory being in place.  I'm a believer Smiley

I loved Tuesday night. Great to win, great atmosphere, great performances from the maligned players (Clichy, Navas,Fernando, Mangala, Otamendi, Sagna) who are supposedly  not good enough for this level.  Watched the whole lot back beginning to end yesterday including BT's  pre and post match coverage. Can't be doing with McManaman and Ferdinand.

Obviously we are outsiders to win the thing but here is to hoping the 6/1 shot comes in.

Whats tonights lottery numbers please? Wink

You can put the microwave away for another season, UEFA.

Is it worth moving from MC to Vdara?  Seem to be similar prices.  Is the pool decent at Vdara?  Imagine yourself as a 12 year old girl, which would you prefer?

Pool is good at MC for a 12 year old, it has a wave pool, lazy river, jacuzzi.

Cheers, pool is the main thing.

Will stick with MC, it's only for a couple of nights anyway.

Sure you'd welcome the shade when you are there in the summer.  When I took my eldest, I was pretty scared of getting her sunburnt.  The sun is so intense in the afternoon.  From memory, even ths shade is pretty bloody hot there, so don't worry on that score. Early morning swims are just brilliant when you are there, especially if you are struggling to adjust from UK time.  Get the pool to yourself and very easy to get served drinks.  The temperature is still pretty high by European standards.

This.

Pool at MC opens at 8am, was down there for 8.05 most mornings and just floating round the lazy river with a can of beer in hand was a great start to the day.
Reasonable food court with all the usual suspects that should appeal to a 12 yr old.
Solid location as well.

It's not high end and probably not a patch on Vdara but we had a great week there and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Cash games are good there as well Wink

Atletico are tough as teak, superbly coached, tactically astute and really tough to beat

looking at the three other semi finalists, are they who you want, or would you prefer one of the two favourites?

I think Bayern.

Whomever we draw we'll start as underdogs. But we do have a reasonable recent track record against Munich, beating them home and away in the last few years. I also think it would be good to get the whole Pep/Pellers circus out the way in the semi, as it would be beyond fever pitch if the 2 clubs were to meet in the final.

I think I fancy our small chances most in a 2 legged tussle with BM and then a one off game with either of the Madrid teams vs any other potential permutations.

Wonder what charge UEFA will slap us with next.

The Enemy are splitting up and play a 'farewell' tour this autumn. My flatmate got us tickets on O2 priority for the Leeds leg. Odds on them back in the studio/touring within the next 5 years? Very good band actually, shame to see them pack it in. I fear quite a few bands from that 2004-2009 era might start jacking it in soon. Music industry is a different ball game these days to when they all broke through (which is what Tom Clark touched on in his statement about the split)

Maximo Park are playing a hometown show in Newcastle. Album No.6 is in the pipeline apparently. Another good band and excellent live, however I don't fancy paying £35 for it.

Saw The View at a local venue on Monday. Capacity is probably 750 or so. Can't have been more than 250 there. I don't think they'll be heading to York again anytime soon Smiley

How was he even given that game in the first place?

Shirely they don't allocate refs to every game from the start of the season.

He was quite the fan of my hometown, York. Could often be seen out and about in the city.

2016 strikes yet again.

Get them balls heated for the draw, UEFA.

Not taking Rooney as an option seems pretty ridiculous

He's been dreadful this season.  Looks unfit and imoblile.  Just because Utd are lumbered with a long 300k a week contract doesn't mean that England can't jettison the chuffer early.

Amen to that.

He's earned his place in recent seasons yeah?

Massively over the hill at 30, has been in decline for 2 years and its only going one way. For this England team to adapt and evolve, Rooney needs sacking off. He'll go in the summer for depressingly obvious reasons, but this tournament should be his swansong for England.

All this book talk has reminded me of that book you sang the praises of (at least I think it was you) a while back, something to do with Vegas and the guy behind Wynn hotel. What was it called? Got a couple of holidays coming up in May and I like to take a book away with me. Contrary to what you might think, we can read in Yorkshire. Some of us anyway Wink

Oh and put me down for 1% if its available this summer, please. No Vegas for me this summer unless I can somehow win a package next door, so might as well punt some cash away on people going invest in a solid opportunity.

Who are you?

I might have to downgrade you from 2nd best Yorkshireman on sky!

Still upset you didn't know who I was!

So of the 2 people on Sky from Yorkshire, I'm the 2nd best? Marv.

I did know who you was, was obv just bluffing.

You owe me a pint. I'm like an elephant, I won't forget.

Not sure about "solid opportunity", but I'll not argue, & thank you. I'll construct a proper staking list shortly.

The book - see the reply by Skippy. Thoroughly entertaining read.

Man City to win the CL?

If I may ask, as I interact with you quite a bit, here & Next Door, but I've no idea what your day job is. I'm going to throw a few guesses out there though.

Win the CL? Can but dream. All 4 ties can go either way though, so it's pretty exciting stuff. Both PSG and City can't defend for shit, so I expect plenty more goals on Tuesday. We just gotta outscore them, it'll be like the Keegan years all over again. The optimist in me says City to go through 5-4 on agg....

Will look to hunt down that book before May comes round, sounds an entertaining ditty and anything written about Vegas can't be a bad read. Menorca and Verona next month, Verona booked on a whim in case City make the final in Milan. Yes, I'm an idiot.

Any scenario that sees Andy Carroll squeeze his way in? Just think he's a great option from the bench

Agreed. The problem is who to leave out to make room for him.

Rooney.

Job done.
