I was a little worried about what the food would be like here, following some a couple of awful meals in Medellin, I couldn't see how this remote area could be any better, and feared it might spoil my chances of being 100% in love with the place.
No chance. The hotels all inclusive service is the absolute business, had an amazing dinner last night of strips of beef covered in melted cheese with roasted peppars and onions (will get a photo when I order it again tonight!) and this was todays breakfast (proceeded by an obligatory bowl of Frosties

Yumm.
This morning I set about exploring the area, sun creamed up, and set off walking. I walked towards the big rock that is the main attraction of the area (even though clearly its surroundings are far more beautiful), I hadn't planned to climb up it because it looked very far away, but before I knew it I was close enough that I thought I might as well.

659 very steep, gruelling steps later (took about 10 minutes, the lady at the bottom said it would take 20, no big deal) and we're there

I taught in Kenya for about 3 months when I was 19 and loved it, maybe I could do some volunteer work here whilst I'm here? Trouble is my spanish is so useless that I don't know how useful I'd be to them. I might go and talk to one of the teachers and see if there's anyway I could help out - I'd love that. Would need to prepare a "speech" first, any one a Spanish pro that could help me out with a few sentences? I do speak the universal language of FUTBOL so maybe I could just have a kick about with them lol.
Going to grind hard in the afternoons so I don't feel piggish about spending £90 a night on this hotel, plus there isn't much to do here, and the thought of grinding in this suite in the sunshine overlooking the lake and trees is nothing short of paradise in my book.
