Well I'm glad that there is a consensus here that the price is not too far out of line as I think I was going to go with for a treble max on this match.
Having said that, even if we accept that going in the competition, England are genuinely 10th and Costa Rica are 28th, those ratings would be a lot closer now after these results.
And here is what is key to me. Costa Rica have something to play for, they need a result. They are up and confidence is high. England are out, they are mentally shattered and they are playing the kids.
If you give any weight to those factors, surely it's a lot closer?

Without repeating myself the theory that having "something to play for" carries any weight doesnt really wash.

I cant see England strolling around in this, just had another thought.

Costa Rica so far have started very very slowly. Uruguay were a very comfy 1-0 up at half time and Italy had numerous chances in the opening quarter.

If England tire late again which is possible a ht/ft combo may not be the maddest bet ever

beat me to it!

Think England likely shorten though, so the Costa Rica win or England lay may become more desirable.  Though maybe the English public are going to completely turn and think they are lay of the century?  It is hard to see which factor wins.

And there is the usual Betfair SB offer on this, as mentioned above.  England lose, money back as a free bet.  It should be noted that looking at some of the prices BFSB free bets aren't nearly as valuable as Hills ones.

I appreciate 'something to play for' doesn't always have value. A poor team in poor form doesn't improve results coz they have 'something to play for'. But Costa Rica are a team with good results, England with poor results. And now England are playing a semi reserve side (which is as a result of 'nothing to play for'). If England go 1-0 down, heads will surely drop. If Costa Rica go 1-0 down, they won't. I attach a value to this.
But ok, our views are widely divergent here and I appreciate your thoughts which will temper my bets somewhat.

Just had a quick look at oddschecker/betfair and they have India to win the test series against England at odds against.  11/5 on betway a smidge of 2/1 on betfair.  Surely from our test performance since last year this represents value?  I can't see us doing much better against the Indians without a massive change to the side which the ECB will not make!

Rec £25 India to win test series at 11/5 with betway (if betway is an available account)

The evergreen Rafael Marquez was superb tonight.

Think there is growing evidence that the MLS is a strongish league, plenty based there have played really well so far not including the Americans.

Honestly have no idea how England's inevitable loss will impact the price before (what I think) will be lunch tomorrow.  I currently have no idea how England can be odds on/evens at all.

I would say take best price available unless we think price will hold after the carnage of tomorrow.

I certainly don't think its as bad as its made out to be.   Typical of the british media to decry every other league in the world.  If its not the EPL it can't be that good.  Its certainly the best packaged league but in terms of standard its not that great.
